Where You Belong

Restless Thoughts.

[ZACK'S POINT OF VIEW]

I could barely contain myself as Johnny drove the SUV we'd rented towards the local airport, roughly half an hour away from our hotel. Matt and Jimmy followed behind us in another SUV so that we'd have enough room for everyone once the girls got here.

"Dude, you're gonna break your face if you don't quit smiling like that." Johnny stated matter of factly as he turned into the airport and parked as close to the front as possible.
Brian snorted from the passenger's seat, "Nothing's gonna take that smile off his face since Britt's coming, you know that."

At this, I rolled my eyes. The guys were still on that lame fucking kick about me having the hots for my best friend. No matter how much I told them that we were just friends, they seemed to think otherwise, and often let me know it. I'd learned not to respond to them, otherwise they'd just make everything a million times worse.

"True," Johnny smirked, "The girl's like eight months pregnant with someone else's kid and he still has fucking wet dreams about her. That's love."

I didn't bother replying to that comment.

Even after months since I'd seen my best friend naked that day, I couldn't help but to think about her. Despite her being highly pregnant, I was absolutely captivated by the way her body had looked. To me, it slightly resembled that of perfection. And I hated to admit it, but pregnant or not, I found her more attractive than I should've. Seeing her naked that day had only made things worse. I constantly found myself thinking about her, and whether the others knew about that day or not, they could somehow tell when I was thinking about her, and really got on me once they'd noticed I couldn't control myself whenever I was thinking about her.

Aside from that, I'd missed her like crazy. Whether I thought she was highly attractive or not, she was my best friend, and I'd missed having her around. I'd missed her cooking, her snarky remarks, her singing, and her spunk. I felt empty in a way, like a part of me was gone. I never realized how big a part she played in my life until she'd recently come back and put me back together after Gena had completely shattered me. I still wasn't completely healed from my past relationship; I wasn't sure if I ever would be. But I knew that I'd become so much better because of Britt, and knowing that she was literally my sanity made me miss her even more.

Once we'd parked, Brian, Johnny, and I met up with Matt and Jimmy before heading towards the front doors, covered from head to toe in hoodies, hats, and sunglasses to hide our identities. I highly doubted it would last long, as did the others, so we agreed to split up and stay in communication through our phones.

"What gate did Lacey say they'd be at?" I asked Johnny, who shrugged his shoulders and looked off into the distance, searching for the girls.

"Well, you're a lot of help," I grumbled, taking my phone out. I scrolled through my contacts until I reached Britt's name and dialed her, bringing the phone to my ear as it began ringing. I sighed when it went straight to voice mail, and decided to call Leana. She usually kept tabs on everything.

"Hello?" she answered laughing, and I cocked an eyebrow.

"Hey, Lee," I smiled at the sound of her voice, "What gate number are you?"

I heard her murmur something to someone in the background before she answered, "Sweetie, we've already landed! We got here about ten minutes ago. Are you guys here?" she asked excitedly, and I nodded before remembering that she couldn't see that.

"Yeah, we're out in the front; they won't let anyone back there if they haven't gone through security so we're stuck here."

I heard her gasp, "Oh! We'll be there in a minute then!"

Before I could get another word in, she hung up. I sighed and looked at Johnny, who was just staring off into space. Shaking my head, I didn't even bother saying anything to him as I grabbed his arm and tugged him towards the waiting area in the front. I also texted the others and told them where we needed to be.

"What the hell is taking them so long?" Brian whined, pouting as he checked the time on his phone.

Matt shook his head, "Dude, it hasn't even been five minutes. They probably haven't gotten their bags yet."

Jimmy snorted, "Don't forget they're traveling with someone who's ready to pop a kid out any day now," he said, causing everyone to grin excitedly, "Knowing Britt and those hormones, she probably went straight to the food court as soon as she got off the fucking plane."

I couldn't help but to laugh when he said that. Now that he'd mentioned it, I was willing to bet that that was exactly what was taking them so long. I could vividly picture my friend sitting at a table, stuffing her face with all sorts of foods she could get her hands on, not caring once about how crazy she might look.

"I have a feeling you're right," Johnny laughed, digging into his pocket, "Fifty bucks says she comes back with fried chicken."

Matt pulled out his wallet next, "I got fifty on a personal pizza."

"No, no, no," Brian shook his head, whipping out a hundred, "She'll show up with ribs, for sure."

Jimmy smirked, "I'm with Syn on that one."

"I think she'll come back with all of it." I answered honestly, shoving my hands in my pockets as I leaned against the wall.

"Come back with all of what?" came Val's innocent voice, and I smiled upon seeing her, Leana, and Lacey walking up with their bags. I watched as Matt, Jimmy, and Johnny jumped up from their seats and pulled them into hugs before turning away, knowing a makeout session was coming that I didn't want to witness.

"Where's Chelle and Britt?" Brian asked impatiently, cutting everyone's reunion short. I snickered at the annoyed looks everyone gave him, though of course he wasn't fazed by that.

"Food court," the girls answered in unison, and we all laughed.

Jimmy pumped his fist in the air, "I knew it! Told you fuckers she'd be there!"

I turned to Leana, smirking knowingly, "What's she getting?" I asked curiously. The others looked at her too, knowing that someone here would lose their money.

"She practically bought out the whole fucking place," came Michelle's sarcastic drawl, grabbing everyone's attention. I turned and grinned, seeing Michelle pushing several bags on a large cart, one that Brian immediately took from her after kissing her wildly.

When Michelle stepped to the side, I felt my heart race with anticipation as my best friend stepped forward, arms loaded down with food.

[BRITT'S POINT OF VIEW]

I could hear everyone's laughter and excited chatter, but I couldn't see anything with Michelle standing directly in front of me. I figured she'd move in a second, so I carried on eating my chicken fingers. A tattooed arm wrapped around her waist and I automatically knew it was Brian that was hugging her, causing me to smile as I watched their reunion. They soon pulled away from each other and stepped to the side, my eyes immediately locking with a pair of jade green eyes.

I nearly dropped my food as I grinned widely, but thought better of it and gently set it down on a nearby lounge seat before taking off as fast as my pregnant body would allow.

"ZACK!" I shrieked, speed-walking towards him. He flashed me a brilliant smile, one that warmed my body all over as he pulled me into his chest for a tight hug. "I missed you guys so much!" I cried lightly, not being able to help myself.

He chuckled, vibrations flowing through his chest, "We missed you, too, princess."

Words failed me as I stood on my tiptoes and coiled my arms around his neck, hugging him to me as best I could without my belly interfering. I felt his steel-clad lips press soft kisses all over my face and I smiled, feeling several hard kicks go shooting though my stomach. At that, Zack laughed loudly and pulled me away from him to look me up and down.

"He's growing like a fucking weed," he exclaimed, rubbing his hands over my belly in a soothing manner. The kicking stopped, and I smiled gratefully up at him. "How much longer?"

"Four weeks," I mumbled tiredly, pulling him into another hug and leaning against him, suddenly remembering how exhausted I still was.

"We'll be sure to be there." he answered confidently, and I smiled widely.

"Alright, alright," Brian interrupted, placing his hands on my hips and pulling me away from Zack, "Let me see you and my nephew!"

I giggled, standing back a bit so he could see how much I'd grown, "Well, shit," he answered dumbly, and I rolled my eyes before pulling him into a tight hug as well.

Johnny was next to hug me, carefully choosing his words as he complimented my looks and pressed a kiss to my cheek. I smiled, reaching up and ruffling his shaggy blond and dark patched hair. I was lifted into the air by an ecstatic Jimmy, though Leana was quick to warn him that I was still easily nauseated without the morning sickness, and he quickly released me. Like the others, he took a look at me and whistled lowly before reaching to feel the baby, giggling as he kicked once for him. Matt was the last, and while he was usually out of place and awkward looking around my stomach, he quickly engulfed me in his own hug and attached his hands to my stomach without another thought.

"Aww, I really want one now..." I heard Leana mumbled, and looked over just in time to see Jimmy do a double take at her.

He opened his mouth and closed it, blinking at her, "I..do, uh...you...did you just say something?"

"What?" she covered quickly, staring up at him with wide eyes, "I, uh...no?"

I shook my head. As active as those two were, it would only be a matter of time. Leana wouldn't need to drop any hints for long at the rate they were going. Fucking rabbits.

"How was the trip, girls?" Matt asked as he averted his attention back to Val, who smiled and pecked his lips.

"It was great," Lacey smiled, patting Zack on the shoulder, "Thanks for the first class tickets."

"I-I, uh, I have no idea what--"

"Oh hush," Michelle smirked from Brian's side, "We know it was you who bought all the tickets. And we know that only you would've thought to put us all in first class because of Britt being preggo."

"What's that supposed to mean?" Brian looked at Michelle with a pout, causing me to giggle quietly, "Are you trying to say I'm not thoughtful?"

Michelle eyed him with a smirk, but didn't say anything.

Brian whined, "What? Baby, I'm plenty thoughtful!" he pouted some more, wrapping an arm around her waist, "Like the lingerie I bought you while I was out earlier. I figured you could use it tonight; you know how much I love seeing you in purple when you're going do--"

Michelle rolled her eyes with a sigh, "Alright, you guys, it's time to go now!"

***

"I can't believe how much the little nudger has grown," Johnny sighed, laying across the couch in the guys' suite and placing his ear on my stomach, "What's that swishing noise?"

"It's called amniotic fluid, Christ," Brian sighed loudly, yanking Johnny up and moving him away from me, "And get off her stomach like that, you'll squish my nephew."

Johnny pouted as he'd rubbed the spot on his head that he'd hit on the floor, crawling back up onto the couch and laying his head on my shoulder. I giggled and kissed his forehead as he carried on playing with my stomach, paying some attention to the show he'd decided to watch on TV. Everyone else had gone to their own rooms within the suite to sleep, since it was late when our plane got in. I could feel myself growing sleepy, but I knew I wouldn't be able to sleep.

I slowly excused myself after a few minutes, walking into the little kitchenette attached to the living room as a craving hit me hard. I looked in the fridge, seeing nothing but liquor and stale pizza. With a frown, I checked the cabinets. The only thing in there were paper products and an open bag of chips. I highly doubted those were fresh.

I gasped as I felt a pair of hands take hold of my hips and bring my body into a warm, solid chest. I smiled to myself as Zack's signature scent hit my nose and leaned back into him, closing my eyes slightly as he swayed us back and forth from one side to another. His hands slid forward and gently danced across my stomach as he nuzzled his face into the back of my neck, pressing a few kisses there.

"What are you still doing up?" he murmured softly, his voice raspy and slurred with sleep.

"I'm hungry and I can't sleep yet," I replied, turning in his arms to hug him properly. He sighed, placing a hand on my lower back and pushing me as close to him as possible.

"What are you in the mood for?" he asked, eying the clock on the microwave, "It's almost one in the morning, so I'm not sure what will be open. But we can go look." he suggested, and I smiled warmly at how thoughtful he'd been.

I shrugged with a soft sigh, "I don't know. I'm just starving all of a sudden."

"And you have nothing in mind?" he asked, eying me carefully.

I shook my head, "I'm just happy you're offering to go with me. I don't care what we eat."

With that, Zack smirked before pulling me to his room. It was already decided that I'd share it with him, since all the other rooms were taken and the couch was ruled out for me. I knew I'd most likely not be able to sleep, so I didn't worry all that much about me hogging the bed and making things uncomfortable for him.

Once inside, Zack helped me take a seat on the edge of the bed before he grabbed a change of clothes out of one of his bag and began to change. I averted my gaze just as he began stripping off his shirt, revealing all of the ink that colored his skin. I closed my eyes, taking a deep breath as I heard his pajama pants drop to the ground, willing myself to keep my hormones in check.

"Britt?" I heard Zack's voice and opened my eyes to see him crouched down in front of me, fully dressed and eying me like I was crazy, "What the fuck are you doing?" he laughed.

I rolled my eyes, knowing how obvious I'd made it that I was trying not to look at him while he'd been changing, "Zack, I'm pregnant and sexually frustrated. I have to at least try keeping my hormones in check." I said, causing him to burst into laughter.

"I see," he smirked widely, tapping my nose with his index finger, "I understand how it hard it must be. Women love me. Think I'm sexy." he said playfully, and I snorted.

"Right," I teased, sticking my tongue out as he smirked goofily at me, "Well, since you're ready to go, let's roll out."

The next half hour was spent driving through the town looking for an open place to eat. I had suggested we walk, since standing straight was generally more comfortable than being cramped in a seat, but Zack didn't like that idea because of how late it was. So we took one of the rental SUVs and drove around.

"How about here?" Zack asked, motioning towards a small, modern diner. It wasn't completely empty, and it didn't feel creepy like the ones you'd see in scary movies. It was properly lit and was bright and clean looking. I nodded and waited as he pulled into a parking space and cut the truck off.

I opened my door and took off my seat belt before attempting to sit up and slide out of the truck, but it wasn't working so well for me. I grunted as Zack appeared in front of me and effortlessly lifted me out of the truck, setting my feet on the ground. I thanked him and smiled as he guided me towards the inside, a hand placed on my lower back.

"Just two?" a waitress came up and asked us, seeing as there was no need for a hostess at this time of night. Zack nodded before turning his attention to me, wrapping an arm around me for support as I slowly made my way towards where the waitress was standing, "Alright, follow me."

She attempted seating us in a booth, claiming that the material would be easier on my back, as I was severely pregnant and probably looked just as uncomfortable as I felt. I thought it was a good idea, until I started sitting. My stomach made it impossible to fit in the booth, and the thought that I was that huge alone nearly put me in tears. Acting quickly, she suggested bringing in a cushion from the back room and allowing me to use that as we sat outside in the large, wrought iron chairs.

With a sigh, I slowly trudged behind her as Zack whispered words of encouragement in my ears. I grumbled under my breath, willing myself not to cry from the irritation I felt with myself. She placed two cushions on a chair and motioned for me to sit, before Zack ordered our drinks and sent her off. I was busy staring off into space, trying to get myself under control.

"Cheer up, Britt," Zack chuckled, and I turned my attention back to him to see that he was scooting his chair closer to me, placing my feet in his lap underneath the table, "Don't look so heartbroken."

I sighed loudly, crossing my arms over my chest, "I'm just fucking fat and I'm sick of it," I moaned irritably, causing him to laugh. I shot him a nasty look and he held his hands up before leaning over and rubbing a hand over my back.

"Britt, you've heard this a million times before," he smiled, nodding as the waitress came back with our drinks, "You're pregnant, and the weight will drop right off once you give birth. The look suits you, I think. You're gorgeous."

"You're only saying that because you're my best friend," I grumbled stubbornly, and he chuckled, shaking his head in opposition.

"No, babe," he smiled again, looking me dead in the eyes, "I'm saying this because I'm a guy, and it's true. I know a gorgeous girl when I see one, and you are absolutely breathtaking. When we were growing up and even now, severely pregnant and ready to pop."
