Fallen

I sat in my bed, curled into a ball, sobbing for my sister's death.

'Why? Why Evan? She never deserved this.'

A knock at my door interupted my thoughts.

"G-go away." I sniffled. I heard a sigh.

"Rose, we all miss her. Please, open up." Xavier voice sound pained and concerned. I still was not going to open that door.

"No, I need time on my own, Xavier." I hugged my pillow, hiding my face in it.

"Her funeral is tomorrow." He said, before I heard footsteps echo down the hallways.

'I don't even know if I have the strength to see my sister in a casket...It will be too much for me.'

I cried into the pillow, I felt numb...I couldn't feel anything anymore. I couldn't protect her...My dear sister. A memory flashed in my mind.

-Flashback-

"Rosey!" I turned my head, seeing Evangiline run to me, hugging my legs. I laughed, hugging her head. She was so short.

"What's wrong Evy?" I asked her, kneeling to her level. She giggled, grabbing my hand, and started leading me somewhere.

"Where are we going?"

"Were almost there!" Evan cheered, running faster. We entered the forest, where anything can jump out and attack.

"Evan, its dangerous out here. We need to head back now." I stopped in my tracks. A female wolf was laid down, with her pups sleeping right by her side. I smiled at the sight.

"They're beautiful." I commented. Evan nodded in agreement.

"I wish I were a wolf, so carefree, intelligent, and beautiful." Evan smiled. My smile widened at her speech.

"Now lets get going before Mom and Dad worry." I said, grabbing her small hand.

"Okay!" She grinned.

'Evan, I wish you were here.'

I cried silently in my pillow, and soon fell asleep
