Maybe Memories

Gerard's point of view:

"Frankie!" I yelled as he walked into the coffee shop.

"Hey, Gee!" Frank replied with a smile.

"How are you this fine day?" I said, standing up to hug him.

"Great, you?" He hugged me with a big smile on this face.

"Good," I replied. "Care to join me?"

"Sure," Frank said with a small laugh.

We sat down at the table I had been sitting at for almost an hour and both ordered coffee. As I was sipping my boiling hot coffee I couldn't help but notice a young boy, maybe in his early twenties, entering the coffee shop. He was wearing baggy black jeans and a plain red tee-shirt. His hair was dyed black, with dark brown roots slightly showing. It went down to around his shoulders and was messy. He had a little scruff on his chin with shinning blue eyes.

"Hey Frank," I whispered, nudging him in the arm. "Do you see that boy over there," I said, pointing in the direction of the boy who entered the shop moments earlier, who was now sitting at a table looking over the menu.

"Yeah, what about him, Gee?" Frank said glancing at me.

"He's..." I started, but then decided to not tell him that I think the boy is cute. "He's sitting alone. I just thought we should invite him over or something."

"And he's kinda cute, too." He gave a half smirk and a wink.

I tensed up slightly and gave a little uneasy laugh.

After the mysterious boy got his drink, Frank urged me to go over and talk to him. I stood up and felt at the sides of my pants, making sure they were pulled up properly, then made my way over to his seat in the far corner.

"Um, excuse me," I said in a small voice looking down at him.

"Yes?" He replied. His voice was like music to my ears.

"Well, I couldn't help but notice that you are sitting alone and I would like to know if you want to sit with me and my friend," I said with an uneasy tone. "Oh, and my name is Gerard." I outstretched my arm into a handshaking gesture.

"My name is Bert," he said shaking my hand. He had a solid grip and I could see the small muscles in his arm. "And I suppose I will come sit with you and your friend." He smiled crookedly. "Got nothing better to do."

He stood up with his drink and we walked over to where me and Frank had been sitting. I introduced them to each other while me and Bert sat down.

"So where are you guys from?" Bert asked breaking the small silence.

"Jersey," I replied with a small smile.

"Yep, what about you?" Frank said, nodding at Bert.

"Utah."

"Cool," Frank said, smiling. "I recognize you from somewhere, are you famous or anything?"

"Actually kinda," Bert said with a laugh. "You might have seen me on TV or in a magazine. I sing for a band called The Used." He glance at both of us then said, "I know where you guys are from," with a smile.

"I love your band," I said before Frank could say anything.

"Thanks," Bert said, flashing a gorgeous smile. "I like your band, too. My Chemical Romance, right?"

"Yep." Frank answered before me this time.

"I went to your show last night. Great performance."

"Thank you," Frank and I both said at the same time.

Bert laughed. "So I heard about this party tonight, it looks like it'll be fun. Do you wanna come?"

I glanced at Frank and smiled. "We would love to."

"Okay sweet. Here's my number," he said, grabbing Gerard's cellphone, which had been sitting on the table, and starting pressing buttons. "Call me tonight around seven and I'll give you the details." He gave a smile then stood up. "Well I gotta run, nice meeting you. Don't forget to call me!"

"I won't forget," I said as he walked off.

Sorry that it's so short. I would have made it longer but my idea of what's going to happen at the party fits better with the next chapter title.
