Love Is All You Need

After we had been sitting in traffic for almost a half hour, we finally made it to the hospital. Thankfully, Kirstie’s water didn’t break during this journey. That could have been bad.

Everyone was in and out of her room as the night went on. I know baby’s run on their own time, but… this baby is taking forever. It’s already been twelve hours! I was up early this morning, putting up with an excited Kendall… and Kirstie. I’m pretty close to exhaustion right now.

“Ky, come here,” Kendall spoke softly from the other side of the waiting room.

All of the Schmidts, minus the mother, and BTR, minus Carlos, are chilling in here. No one else is here. Apparently, Kirstie was the only one waiting on a baby tonight. Anyway, I went over to Kendall. He opened his arms for me and pulled me onto his lap.

“You look so tired,” he chuckled as his hands ran up and down my back gently.

“I am. This is stressful,” I huffed.

“Hey, Kylee,” I heard Kevin snicker.

My head was buried into Kendall’s chest. If it wasn’t, he would have seen me roll my eyes. I don’t like that tone… at all.

“What?” I groaned as I sat up.

“I bet within a year, all of us will be waiting in a room like this, but you and Kendall will be in a delivery room,” he countered with that taunting brotherly tone in his voice.

“Can I hit him?” I whined at Kendall.

“You have my permission,” their dad spoke up.

I attempted to get up and make my way to Kevin, but Kendall’s grip tightened around me. I sent him a little pout, but he just left a soft kiss on the top of my head and that calmed me down.

“I just saved your life,” he went on to shoot at his brother. It brought a smile across my face.

“He’s right, man,” Logan added.

“She will mess you up,” James went on, making everyone laugh.

“No, she won’t,” Kevin chuckled.

“Dude, I’ve worked out with her before,” James started again, sending me a look to go along with what he was saying. I’ve never worked out with this man before! “She gave me a black eyes,” he went on to whisper just like his character would in the BTR show.

I tired so hard to hold in my giggles. Kevin looked over at me and thankfully I could keep a straight face. But the longer he stared at me, the more my laughter built up… and I lost it.

“She couldn’t hurt a fly!” Kevin battled back.

“She doesn’t have to. I’ll protect her,” Kendall added, leaving a soft kiss on the top of my head.

“I love you,” I whispered to him once I nuzzled back against his frame.

“I love you too,” he whispered back, making me smile.

While my head rested on his shoulder, I allowed myself to close my eyes. I didn’t want to fall asleep. I would probably miss something! But I couldn’t help it. Kendall’s just so comforting. I kind of… fell asleep. Oops.
