“Anna?” Cameron was holding my hand, and for a few minutes, the fog left. My brother’s were standing behind her, watching. “I’ll wait for you.”
“It’s going to be a long time.”
“I’ll visit. Every day.”
I looked at her, hoping she could see everything I couldn’t say out loud. I assume she did, because in the next moment she leaned down and kissed me. It was a soft kiss, more than a peck.
“Gross!” My brother’s exclaimed, causing us to pull apart. “No kissing in front of us!”
I knew they were joking.
“It’s going to be a long time.”
“I’ll visit. Every day.”
