Shiver

“Anna.” His rough voice roused me from my slumber.

As I lifted my head from my pillow I gave him a look. What did he fucking want?

“Anna, are you okay?” He looked concerned. But did he have to wake me up for this? Wake me up from my blissful oblivion.

“I’m fine Jake.”

“You’re so skinny.”

My heart gave a leap at that. Was I really? “So what?”

“Why don’t you come down and have a bowl of cereal with me?”

“It’s midnight.”

He left after that. Saying that he’d make me a big omlete for breakfast. I didn’t tell him how much just the thought of that disgusted me.

How much it made me want to kill myself.
