When You Love Someone

Five.

"Lanie, wake up!" The young adult jumped and rolled over in bed, resulting in her tumbling off the side of the bed and straight onto the floor with a loud thump.

"Oh my god. Kara! I freaking hate you right now!" Lanie said as she laid on the floor, her backside now aching while her best friend laughed.

"Sorry but you have to get up! Alex and the guys are already at the hotel getting ready, Colton is already at Alex's parents getting ready as well, and your mom and the girls will be here soon. Now you and I have to get ready!" As soon as Kara spoke these words all of Lanie's anger from her rude awakening were gone. Today was the day. Her wedding day.

She jumped up and ran over to Kara, pulling her into a tight embrace.

"Today is the day!" She yelled, making Kara laugh and push the younger girl away.

"Yes, I know! Now go get in the shower! I'll get your hair and makeup things ready." The woman eagerly agreed and rushed off into the bathroom, taking a quick shower. As soon as she was out Kara set to work. She dried her blonde hair and set it in soft curls, pinning the bangs to the side. Her makeup was very simple, just the basics and some very light black eyeshadow and light red lipstick to bring out the color of her lips a little bit. While Lanie ate some breakfast, Kara did her own hair and makeup, doing soft curls as well.

Things were soft of messed up with the wedding party. As Kara was Lanie's only female friend and Alex had 3 guys who had to be in the wedding. After a lot of talking they decided that Jack would walk with Kara, as Jack was Alex's best man and Kara was Lanie's maid of honor. Rian would walk with his girlfriend Cassadee Pope, and Zack would walk with his girlfriend Katie.

Lanie didn't know Katie all too well but she seemed very sweet and like a lot of fun. Cassadee and Lanie had met when her band went on tour with All Time Low, the same time that Cassadee and Rian met. She was very fond of her and knew that they would be long time friends, just like her and Kara. Much to Alex's dismay, Lanie wanted Matt to be a part of the wedding, so they both agreed that he could be the ring bearer, while Colton would help him. Bekka's niece, Lanie's foster cousin, would be the flower girl as Alex and Lanie could think of no one else.

When Bekka, Cassadee and Katie arrived, the three of them spent about ten minutes gushing over how gorgeous Lanie looked, how excited they were, how lovely Alex and her looked together, Bekka even asked when her and Rick should be expecting another grandchild. Finally the three of them let Kara whisk them away and do their hair and makeup while Lanie sat in the kitchen, lost in her own thoughts.

She couldn't help but have a smile on her face the whole time. Today was the day that she had been waiting for since she was 16. She found the love of her life and today was the day that she tied herself to him forever. They will finally be a true and proper family. She would be Mrs. Lanie Gaskarth in just two short hours.

"Lanie, come on! We have to leave now so we have enough time to get changed!" Kara yelled from the kitchen. The group gathered their dresses and their bags and piled into the car, Alex's Range Rover. He left it for them as there was more room in it, and there was more of them, so he took her car this morning. "Are you excited!" Kara asked Lanie. Lanie grinned, keeping her eyes on the road as she drove.

"Of course I am!" All of them began laughing and chatting about how great today is going to be. They arrived at the magnificent hotel that Lanie and Alex found to have their ceremony and reception at. They got the keys to their room and went up, passing Jack and Rian on the way there. "How's Alex?" Lanie asked them. They were already dressed in their black tux's with red vests and bow-ties.

"Very excited. He keeps jumping around the room and asking what time it is. He can't wait." Rian answered, making Lanie grin.

"Give him a hug for me, and a kiss, if you really want to." Rian and Lanie laughed while Jack nodded.

"I'll do the kissing part. You see Lanie, he really wishes it was me he was marrying." Jack said, making Lanie laugh and smack his arm.

"I should go get my dress and stuff on. I'll see you guys soon!" She hugged and kissed both of their cheeks before she went into her room where Kara and the others were getting into their dresses. After they all changed into the dresses, Kara touched up all of their hair and makeup. By the time they were finished the ceremony was to start in about ten minutes. Rick came in as Bekka passed everyone their flowers.

"You look so beautiful, Lanie." Her foster father told her as he hugged her. Rick had never been very fond of Alex, but he has gotten used to him over time. He also knew how happy he made his daughter, so therefor, he couldn't be all that bad.

"Thank you, Rick." She said, kissing his cheek.

"Come on! It's time!" Kara said, making Lanie giggle with excitement. They all went down to the area where the ceremony was being held. They all stood outside the doors, hearing the chatter of their friends and family. Alex was already in place, talking with his parents and other guests. Bekka kissed Lanie's cheek before she made her way out to take her seat and give Alex a hug and a kiss as well. Before Lanie knew it, it was time. The music started and the couples paired up and formed a line. First out was Zack and Katie, followed by Rian and Cassadee, then Jack and Kara. Finally Bekka's niece went out, skipping down the isle, covering the ground with red rose petals.

"You ready?" Lanie turned to look at Rick, a smile on her face.

"I've been ready for years." Rick smiled and held out his arm to her. They linked elbows as her music started. It was time. Lanie took in a deep breath before her and Rick started their way through the doors. The room was large and covered in red and black fabrics, just like Lanie and Alex wanted. The chairs were all wrapped in red and black covers with red roses tied into them on the back. The whole place was so gorgeous and everything Lanie had imagined and could ever ask for.

The greatest part of this entire scene though was not the decorations, not the friends and family smiling at her from their seats, it was not that Lanie was in the most gorgeous dress she had ever seen, it was in fact the handsome man standing at the make shift alter, her fiance, the man who in just a few minutes would be her husband. He had a large smile on his face as he looked at no one but her. He couldn't believe that she was his, that she wanted him as much as he wanted her.

When Lanie and Rick reached the end of the isle, Rick kissed her cheek and then placed her hand in Alex's outstretched and waiting hand. Lanie and Alex saw no one else, their eyes were locked on each other. Throughout the entire ceremony, their hands were linked and their eyes were locked, smiles on both of their faces.

"Lanie, as you are already holding Alex's hand, these are the hands of your best friend, young and strong and vibrant with love, that are holding yours on your wedding day, as he promises to love you all the days of his life. These are the hands that will work along side yours, as together you build your future, as you laugh and cry, as you share your innermost secrets and dreams. These are the hands you will place, and already have placed, with expectant joy against your stomach, as he too feels his child stir within you.

These are the hands that looked so large and strong yet were so gentle, and will be gentle in the future, as he holds your baby for the first time. These are the hands that will work long hours for you and your new family. These are the hands that will passionately love you and cherish you through the years, for a lifetime of happiness. These are the hands that will countless times wipe the tears from your eyes; tears of sorrow and tears of joy. These are the hands that will comfort you in illness, and hold you when fear or grief wrack your mind.

These are the the hands that will tenderly lift your chin and brush your cheek as they raise your face to look into his eyes; eyes that are filled completely with his overwhelming love and desire for you." Lanie had a few tears running down her cheek as the officiator spoke these words, Alex gripping her hands ever tighter. "Lanie, do you take Alex as your husband?" Lanie nodding, blinking past her tears. Alex brought one of his hands up, wiping the tears from her cheeks.

"I do."

"Now, Alex, Lanie's hands, they are are the hands of your best friend, smooth, young and carefree, that are holding yours on your wedding day, as she pledges her love and commitment to you all the days of her life. These are the hands that will hold each child in tender love, soothing them through illness and hurt, supporting and encouraging them along the way, and knowing when it is time to let go.

These are the hands that will massage tension from your neck and back in the evenings after you've both had a long hard day. These are the hands that will hold you tight as you struggle through difficult times. These are the hands that will comfort you when you are sick, or console you when you are grieving.

These are the hands that will passionately love you and cherish you through the years, for a lifetime of happiness. These are the hands that will hold you in joy and excitement and hope, each time she tells you that you are to have another child, that together you have created a new life. These are the hands that will give you support as she encourages you to chase down your dreams. Together as a team, everything you wish for can be realized. Alex, do you take Lanie as your wife?"

"Of course I do." Alex and Lanie smiled at each other.

"Then I now pronounce you husband and wife. Alex, you may kiss your wife."

"Don't mind if I do." Everyone in the room laughed at Alex's words but quieted down as Alex brought his hand up to Lanie's cheek and brought her close to him before his lips were on hers. The room burst into applause as the now married couple kissed.

"Wife!" Lanie giggled as she ran out of the bedroom area of their honeymoon suite and into the living room area, jumping over the back of the couch to hide. She gripped her husbands shoe in her hand. He wanted to go out to dinner, but she wanted to stay in for the night, have a simple, relaxed night in. So she resorted to stealing Alex's shoes. He couldn't go anywhere without shoes. "Lanie! Give me my shoe back!" She put her hand over her mouth to stop her giggles as he walked into the room, unable to see her. "I found this cute restaurant that I really want to take you to. We can stay in tomorrow night." Lanie stood up, making him jump as he had been right beside the couch.

"I want to stay in tonight though." She said, pouting, clutching the grey high top Nike to her chest.

"Fine," Alex groaned. "We can stay in tonight." Lanie grinned and jumped back over the couch, standing on top of it and tossing Alex's shoe towards the bedroom before wrapping her arms around Alex's neck.

"Yay!" He couldn't help but smile. "Thank you!" Instead of responding he reached forward and pressed his lips to hers. She jumped up, wrapping her arms around his waist. He laughed and turned, falling backwards onto the couch, making them both laugh again.

"This is why you wanted to stay in tonight, huh?" Alex questioned her as they cuddled on the couch.

"Exactly. Now stop talking and kiss me." Lanie said, making Alex laugh and do just that.

They are married! yay!
I am soooo sorry that it's been so long. I've had a lot going on and my laptop broke so I haven't really had access to a computer, but I'm on my parents computer because I really just wanted to do this wedding already.

I wanted to do the vows a little different, if you could tell. I just thought it was really cute. I hope you thought it was cute too. (:

Here is the polyvore set of the wedding!
