Warmness On The Soul.

Three.

I could feel Matt’s eyes burning into the skin of my stomach. Nervously I placed my hands on the bump, still not able to belie e that he was really here. I had spent every night hoping that someone would knock on my door… and I’d open it to find him. Now that it was really happening, I had no idea what to do or say to him.

“Kara.”

A lump grew in my throat. I had waited for that voice for so long, it seemed a million times better in person than from my memories.

“Are you… seriously… it’s… fuck.”

“I’m pregnant…” It came out more of a whisper than a confident statement. His face was blank, and I wasn’t sure whether I should be worried or not.

His eyes shot up to mine, “Pregnant… what… how far…”

“Three months... I’m due on June 22nd…”

Before I even blinked Matt had suddenly grabbed me and picked me up. Talking a mile a minute about how much he missed me and how excited he was. I couldn’t help but smile and wrap my arms around his neck, any fear I had about being a Mother disappeared at that moment.

I had Matt, and we were going to have baby.

“And if you’re a little girl, I’m going to teach you how to fight so you can beat up boys if they try to flirt with you. Wait no, I can take care of that and so can your uncles… oh and if you are a boy I’m sure Zacky and Brian are going to make you learn guitar… and I’ll teach you piano whether you’re a girl or a boy.” Matt gushed.

We were currently lying in my bed, his head against my stomach as he talked to the baby. I didn’t know how long we had been lying like this, and I didn’t care honestly. I was so content and happy I could spend the rest of my pregnancy doing this.

A familiar gnawing in my stomach made me shift around a bit, making Matt glance up with worry in his eyes. “Baby? What’s wrong, is the baby moving? Did I hurt you?” He asked frantically.

I shook my head, “I’m hungry Matt.” I answered with a laugh. “You didn’t hurt me at all; I’m probably going to sleep better with you around.”

He frowned slightly, “you haven’t been sleeping?”

I shook my head slowly, “it’s been so hard to get comfortable without you. Like the baby knew that I was missing you, so it’s missed you in its own way.” I explained, watching his face lit up into a smile.

“Trust me; I’ve had a hard time sleeping without you.” He leaned up and pressed his lips against mine. “Want to get something to eat?”

“I was going to go grocery shopping today to get some food…”

Suddenly his eyes lit up, “I have a better idea. Get dressed first, I have a surprise.”

“Matt can you uncover my eyes yet.” I huffed sourly.

Matt had sat me in his large car, put a makeshift blindfold of my eyes, and drove me off somewhere. He wouldn’t let me move the blindfold at all, and I was beginning to get slightly scared.

“Almost, we’re just down the street.” He chuckled. “And don’t worry, I’ve got food coming so smile.”

I felt the car pull to a stop. “Can I take it off now?” I whined.

He chuckled yet again, “go ahead.”

With a sigh of relief I ripped it off my head, not able to contain the smile that spread across my face. I knew this house perfectly, even though I only saw the front of it once, I knew this house. There was a sold sign in the front yard, which caused my smile to falter slightly.

“Matt?”

“The state put it up for sale, and the Berry’s bought it. In a while I’ll buy it from them so it’ll be back in my name; we just want to make sure it’s really safe first.” He explained unlocking the doors. “Ready to go in?”

I nodded, “of course!”

The house looked exactly the same as I remembered it, even the furniture was still here. It seemed like it was so long ago that I was first brought here. If someone would’ve told me that I would be back, after being kidnapped, pregnant from my kidnapper and in love with him, I would’ve called them insane. But here I was, and I couldn’t imagine being anywhere else right now.

“The Berry’s managed to get most of my old furniture; a few things have been replaced so it’s not that big of a deal.” Matt smiled hugging me from behind. “I missed being home.”

I smiled at him, “it’s oddly nice to be back here… now you mentioned something about food?”

He chuckled, “it’s on its way don’t worry, just get comfortable.” He smiled nudging me towards the living room. “I’m going to check something out upstairs.” He pecked my lips before disappearing quickly.

I frowned slightly but walked into the living room, sinking down into one of the leather sofas. Right away I regretted it; I didn’t know how on Earth I was going to get up and off the sofa. I could hear loud thumping coming from upstairs, followed by a few strings of curse words.

However my attention was stolen when I heard the sound of the front door unlocking. Managing to turn around with some difficulty I managed to catch the door opening. A few seconds later a large smile slid across my face as a few familiar people walked through the door.

“VALARY!” I didn’t know how I did it, but I managed to launch myself up and off the sofa and into Val’s side. Nearly tackling her onto the floor, and nearly knocking over someone else.

She let out a pained groan, “Kara! Don’t ever do that again.” She whined hugging me back, “I can barely fit my arms around you!” She pushed me away to look at my stomach, “you’re huge!”

My eyes narrowed, “are you calling me fat?”

Her face paled, “What? No!”

Before I could tell her I was joking I felt a pair of arms pick me up and squeeze me, “KARA! Name the baby after me!”

I chuckled, “I will if you get me food Brian, but otherwise put me down. I don’t want a squished baby.”

“We got pizza!” Another voice chimed in.

As I turned around my smile seemed to double in size. Jimmy, Johnny, Zacky, Gena, Brian and Val all stood there grinning at me. Of course they glanced down at my stomach for a few moments, but for the most part they all looked thrilled to see me. And I was beyond happy to see all of them. Especially since they had food.

“About time you guys got here.”

Over my shoulder I saw Matt coming down the stairs, holding a few blankets and pillows in his arms. “How many pizzas did you guys buy?” He asked eyeing Johnny.

“About… five…” Johnny laughed. “We didn’t know if Kara was really hungry, plus we usually all eat a pizza ourselves.” He explained with a grin.

Smiling sweetly, I grabbed one of the boxes from Johnny before skipping back into the living room. “Johnny, I love you, and thanks for the pizza.” I smirked.

“So have you thought of any baby names yet?” Gena asked.

Everyone was currently piled into the living room, eating and watching whatever shitty horror movie on was the TV. I was beyond content right now, everything felt like it had finally set in place and there wasn’t a worry in my mind.

In answer to Gena’s question I shook my head slowly, “no, I was hoping Matt would come back soon and we could pick some out.”

“Name it Brian…”

“Maybe.” I laughed. “We have time to come up with a name; I’m just more concerned with getting money for the baby’s clothes. I don’t make a lot of money at work and even with the money I have saved up it won’t last very long.”

“Well don’t worry about money, the guys and I have something up our sleeve.” Matt grinned kissing my cheek, “and no, I’m not going to tell you what it is.” He added.

I pouted, “no fair, why mention it if you’re not going to tell me.”

“Because it’s a surprise Karaaa.” Jimmy sang. “Don’t worry this is all legal, as long as we play our cards right nothing from our past will come up, and we’ll all have a kick ass future.” He smiled towards me. “And this little baby is going to have the best family anyone could ask for.”
