Seventeen year-old Derek Ashworth has a gift. He is able to see the manner in which people around him - friends, family, and strangers - are going to die in unusual deaths, just by looking at them. At first, Derek is terrified of this newfound, unwanted power. But after a few weeks of honing and harnessing it, he decides to use it for good and finds a way to warn people of their impending doom. People are saved, families are kept together, and life goes on.
