Save your heart.
Stay with me.
I woke up quite late. I only had two hours to get ready and get the food. My plans were to cook something myself, but I ended up buying some Chinese. Even so, I had time left to bake some cookies, so I did.
I took a shower and threw a dress on. I could predict it was gonna be quite a hot day even though it was almost December. Oh, lovely Arizona.
Before going out the door, I grabbed a cardigan just in case. My predictions could go wrong, you never know.
I drove to the park where we last had McDonald's and opened out a tablecloth Dakota and I never used.
John arrived 10 or 15 minutes later.
'Hey.' He said kissing me hello.
'Hi.' I smiled.
"So, what did you do yesterday?" He asked while we sat on the floor.
"Well, I was gonna reserve that for the dessert..." I handed him the food and the chopsticks.
"What?"
"I got a tattoo." I said eating my rice.
"That's what you did all day?" He laughed.
"Well, not all day." I laughed too. "I also did some grocery shopping and watched Friends with Garrett at home."
"So, what tattoo did you get?"
"Oh, yeah. I got some lyrics. Of one of your songs. On the back of my neck."
"What lyrics? Let me see!"
"Wait. I gotta explain first!" I stopped him. "You said you wrote those two songs for me, right?"
"Yeah." His killer smile made an appearance.
"So, as you know, I really liked them...and they mean a lot to me. You mean a lot to me. And I know we've only been...what? 4 months together? But I can't even thank you enough for what you've done in my life. I've never felt this way before. You have really made an impact in my life, John. A good one, of course. And sometimes I feel like I keep it all to myself, and I don't know, I worry that you, maybe, don't know how much I love you. And by inking that in my back, I thought you'd know all that, that you'll always remember I love you and always will."
I had a tear about to fall into my cheek, which I rapidly brushed off. John came closer as I spoke, and by the time my 'speech' was finished, he kissed me.
"I love you too, Jessie, remember that." He said.
