Save your heart.

From when her hair was sweet blonde 'til the day it turned grey.

My brother's call woke me up. It was Saturday, again, and it seemed like nobody cared about my sleep. For fuck's sake everyone knew I loved to sleep!

"It's 10 in the morning." I answered.

"I know. You called me earlier once so piss off."

"Oh, right. I didn't remember you liked take revenge."

"Right, so, I was thinking... would you like to come and have lunch?"

"That sounds great, I can buy some take away Chinese or something."

"Great. Come whenever you want."

"Alright, bye."

I hung up and stayed there, in bed, for some more minutes. "Why do I have to wake up so damn early." I complained, as if someone was listening. I put some leggings and a long T-Shirt on, threw some combat boots on, put my hair in a bun and I was ready to go. I felt like having breakfast out, so I walked to a place near our house where they serve really great pastries and the best hot chocolate I've ever had. I forgot to put on a jacket and it was cold outside, so I started running. I arrived in like half a minute. Yes, it was that close.

"Hi." I said when Kelly approached me, asking for my order. I knew her name was Kelly because workers there have a name tag on their uniform, but I kinda knew her anyways. I often went there to buy chocolate and pastries - yes, they have a mini shop inside too -, and since she was most of the times I went, we kinda knew each other. I mean, we recognized each other faces and talked a few times. "Can I have some hot chocolate and one of those mixes of mini pastries, please?"

"Sure." She smiled. "That's all?" She asked and I nodded. "Alright, I'll serve you in a moment."

"Great." I took a seat near the windows. It was a table for four, but there was only one person in there and plenty of other tables, so I thought it wouldn't be a problem.

Kelly came with that food made in haven in literally seconds after I sat down. "It's unusual to have you eating breakfast here." She giggled while she put the things on the table.

"I know." I giggled too. "I just felt like it."

"Good." She smiled again. "Hope you enjoy!"

"Thanks." I said as she left. My stomach screamed when I smelled the food, so I dipped a mini croissant in the hot chocolate and took a bite. It was like tasting Jesus. And I don't like swearing, but I swear it was just that good.

I took my time having breakfast. I had no reason to rush, so after I was done, I ordered pancakes. 'Woah, I'm gonna be super fat by the time I leave.' I thought. Anyway, I ate the pancakes, which were also to die for, paid the bill and couldn't help but stop at the shop. I bought a bunch of food. When Kelly saw me waiting to pay for it, she kinda laughed a bit.

"What?" I laughed too.

"Your stomach is like a black hole." I knew she didn't mean to sound rude. She was actually saying the truth, which was also funny.

"It is." I laughed again. "But the fault is all yours because the food is delicious."

"Well, thanks." She handed me the bill. "32.45, please."

It was expensive, but worth it. I'd have told her that, but we were not that close yet. She seemed really nice, though. I paid with my card and grabbed the two bags.

"Thank you, bye!" She said.

"Bye, see you soon!" I laughed and walked out of the door.

I walked back home and noticed it was a little warmer out. When I arrived home I checked my phone and saw it was past 11.30. I'd just finished eating breakfast and now it was time I went buy take away food. I had enough space in my belly, though. I didn't know if Katie was gonna have lunch with us, so I bought more food just in case. Even if she wasn't gonna be there, we would eat it anyway, so that was not a problem.

I had to wait for ages for the food, so by the time I arrived at my brother's house, it was already like 1 pm. I grabbed the bags and walked to his door, knocked and waited for him to open. He looked horrible.

"What the fuck James, what happened?!" I was worried, he was looking really tired. I had never seen him that tired before.

"Wedding stuff." He shrugged and let me in. "I wanted to talk to you, tough." He closed the door and I took the Chinese food out of the bags. I took two forks out of his cutlery drawer and handed him one. We took a seat and opened the boxes, grabbing one each.

"Tell me." I said eating the rice.

"I wish I didn't ask Katie to marry me."

"What?!"

"I mean, I do love her very much and I do want to spend the rest of my life with her, but I can't handle this craziness. This wedding preparation thing is driving me crazy, it's consuming me. I'm a guy and I don't know how it works. I'm expected to know what colors match and what flowers match with the table cloth and what fucking music is the right music to play in a wedding!"

"Calm down, Jimmy." I changed my seat so I could be next to him. "It's alright to feel that pressured, don't worry."

"Plus my boss is fucking bossy."

"Oh, really." I laughed and he laughed too.

"But seriously, I'm fucking fed up. He knows I'm stressed but asks me to draw more anyway. I don't own the magic fountain of imagination, you know, I cannot fucking draw 4 strips a week!"

"So then why don't you leave until you come back from your honeymoon."

"I've thought about it but what if he fires me or something!"

"He's not gonna fire you, and what if he does? There are plenty of other places where you can work. Or maybe, you don't even have to work! We have dad and mom's money! So listen, you're calling him right now."

"No. No and no and no to all you have said."

"Yes. Dial his number."

"I can't!"

"Do it! It's destroying you, all this stress! You look awful James! And you don't wanna look awful on your wedding day, do you."

"I don't."

"So just do it!"

"Oh, shut up you sound like a Nike advert." He said and I laughed. He finally called his boss and guess what, his boss said there was no problem in that. He said he'd use all the strips he had drawn until there was none left.

"I fucking told you it'd be alright."

"You love to be right, don't you." He impersonated my voice now. "Oh, I told you so, blah blah blah."

"Shut up and eat." I laughed. "I bet you've even lost weight."

"Well, my trousers fit kinda loose recently."

"There you go."

Now that he was free form work, he looked a a little less stressed. We talked about the wedding and how he'd have his last fitting next week. I told him to start sleeping more and eating better. He said he would. He told me the place they were having the wedding/banquet was looking good even though he didn't help much. He told me he tried but failed every time. He apparently proposed different things but everyone told either it didn't match or that was wrong. He enjoyed the pre-wedding taste tests, though. He said the cake tasted like rainbow and that the food was great. I'm glad, I told him. He also told me he forgot to tell me earlier his tuxedo was Yves Saint Laurent. Just like my shoes, I answered. And we laughed. It was 4 pm by the time I had to leave.

"If you need any help just call me, alright?"

"Alright." We hugged and I kissed him in the cheek, the hugged him again.

"I love you Jimbo." I smiled and he walked me to the door.

"I love you too, Jay." He opened the door and I walked to the car.

"See ya, bye!" I got in the car and saw him wave as I left.
