When Life Hands You..Babies?
Why Does Love Always Feel Like A Battlefield?
Brian walked into his house, making sure to slam the door behind him. He was beyond mad, he was livid. Michelle walked out of the kitchen to greet Brian, but once she saw the look on his face she stopped inn her tracks. They stared at each other for a while before Brian broke the silence first.
"We are done Michelle. I want a divorce and you out of the house. I've already called my lawyer and he's having the papers written up as we speak." Michelle's jaw was on the floor by the time Brian finished his speech.
"Wha-what? Brian you can't be-"
"Serious? I'm fucking dead serious. What you did tonight was completely out of line."
"So you're divorcing me, because I slapped that skank?" Brian's jaw clenched and his fist were balled at his side.
"Shut.Up. Michelle. I'm so sick of your shit. I'm so sick of your goddamn issues with Marie. She is a permanent part of my life weather you fucking like it or not." Michelle was balling at this point and as she tried to approach Brian, he only stepped back.
"I cannot believe this is happening."
"You brought this upon yourself Michelle. I'll give you till the end of the month to get your shit and leave." Brian walked away leaving a dumbfounded and crying Michelle in the middle of their living room.
She felt like she couldn't breath. She couldn't believe Brian was choosing Marie over her. He made it seem like all the years of marriage and being together meant nothing to him at all. All because she had to act childish and confront the women who was trying to break up her marriage. No, God, what was she thinking? She was breaking up her own Marriage. She was the one who has insecurity issues and decided that she had to act on them. Michelle knew she always had a certain hate for Marie, but she thought since she was the one that married Brian, that she had won.
Marie was right, Michelle was playing a game that only she was playing. And now she not only lost, but she lost her husband as well.
----
Banging on her front door caused Marie to wake up from her deep slumber. She cursed under her breath as she sat up and threw her purple comforter off of her bare legs and made her way to the impatient person on the other side of the front door. When she got to the door, she didn't bother looking in the peephole to see the zombie looking Brian on the other side.
She slowly opened the door, still half asleep and ready to give the person a piece of her mind for waking her up. She didn't have time to say anything for the person on the other side had pushed their lips on to hers. It took Marie a few minutes to recognize the person but once she did, she melted into his touch. They had not kissed since the night they had sex. But even then, this kiss was different. It wasn't hungry or rough, but more gentle and sweeter.
Marie snapped out of her thoughts about the kiss, when she felt the cold air hit her now bare lips. She opened up her eyes only to come face to face with Brian. Her hazel eyes boring into his chocolate brown ones. In that very moment, she realized what drew her to Brian in the first place. It wasn't only because he was incredibly sexy and talented, but because he had this thing about him that only certain people were ever aloud to see.
She felt ever so lucky to be one of those few people to see a soft side of Brian Elwin Haner Jr.
"I'm sorry." Marie scrunched her eyebrow as Brian spoke, softly cupping her cheeks and rubbing his thumb over her lips.
"For what?" Brian sighed dropping his hand from Marie's face to run it through his hair.
"Marie, What Michelle said..What she did to you, was way out of line. She had no right to come in here and demand that you stop me from seeing Hayley. There is nowhere and nothing that I would rather do anymore than to be with you and Hayley."
"Brian, I-"
"No. Listen Marie, I mean it. I want to be with you, and I want to be there for Hayley. I want to be just like a family. In this messed up situation that was just thrust upon us, I some how realized that taking care of Hayley and raising her with you has made me the happiest I have ever been in a long time." Marie had tears rolling down her cheek by the end of Brian's speech.
Everything he said to her was true. Ever since their drunken night of confessions and sex these feelings had been eating him alive and when he finally admitted it the day he visited Jimmy's grave, he couldn't deny it anymore. Getting Michelle out of the picture was his first step. He didn't realize how messed up she had been until he walked in on her and Marie fighting. It didn't sit well with him.
Marie was in such a complete shock that the only thing she could do to show Brian she felt the same way was to kiss him. She crashed her lips against his as she shoved him against the door. They both knew it was going to take some time to get used to being with each other. Brian still had to fully divorce Michelle and get himself settled into his house by himself. He planned on asking Marie to move in, that way he could be closer to Hayley and Marie.
He meant what he told Marie and he would be damned if he took back his words now.
