I stayed next to Zuko the whole time he fought Azuela.
She cackled loudly as Zuko foolishly egged her on and challenged her to shoot lighting. he was distracted by something when she did. He wouldn’t be able to deflect it and I knew it.
I jumped in front of him and she hit dead on.

I woke a moment or two later and felt drops of water hi my face. I opened my eyes and looked up at Zuko’s weeping face.
“Ari” he croaked out and I smiled up at him, my pale hand cupping his face. “why? Why did you do that?”
“I had to protect you” I said to him, my voice weak. “you were distracted, she would of killed you.”
“Katara will heal you” he said firmly. “you’ll be ok” but I knew it wouldn’t even if Katara had started healing me right away I would still be dieing. My spirit was still so weak. Even though I had been practicing my water bending it would of taken a long time till I was strong enough to take that hit.
