What if...
(Also - can anyone think of a fitting title for this stupid story?)
"In our lives we all have time to reflect on those ‘what if moments’.
What if I had gone? What if I hadn’t said that? What if I had?
We always quote people who say ‘seize the day’ and not to hold back on things. Usually this means that a person will buy those expensive shoes, or actually go on that holiday that they’ve been promising themselves that they will go on. Usually something for themselves that within two weeks have left them with nothing more than some new clothes or a silly hair cut, or a bill for a gym they have little intention on actually going to.
The real decisions, the big ones, the ones that not only make us happier, but everyone else, are usually too hard to make. We’ve all been there, too scared to say anything. Our heads too filled with thoughts of 'it will go wrong', our fear giving into being satisfied with the fantasy, even if it is in our heads and so we don’t get what we really want.
Who we really want.
In a way this is a great selfishness, because they are going to be just as stupid, just as scared. If there is someone that you truly love, tell them. The worst that can happen is nothing, from there you can only go up. In some cases it might just be that they feel the same - they’re just as frightened of saying anything . If you don’t love will be lost, and what’s the point in it all without love?" - Sarah, the protagonist
