The Soap Opera Experiment

Kevin sat in the dark and thought. He was glad he hadn’t had to use the dart gun. That would have been bad. The clock chimed quarter to two (in the morning), and Kevin decided he need to reevaluate his life. So he made a list.

1. He was no longer satisfied with his life.
2. In order to be satisfied with his life, he needed to change the status quo.
3. To change the status quo would make him feel happy.
4. He needed to change what didn’t make him happy.
5. Lewis made him happy. So did Lily.
6. Sharon didn’t make him happy. Not anymore.
7. He had to end things with Sharon and go back to Lily permanently.
8. Then he would be happy and satisfied with his life.

Kevin made a call.

“Sharon, this has to end. Now.”

Then Kevin got up, got in his plane, and flew himself home. Lily and Lewis were waiting.
