I'll Keep You a Daydream Away

“That hurt so bad,” I chuckled after I gave birth to Vince and my new baby. “They took our baby away to get them cleaned up so soon I didn’t even get to see if it was a girl or a boy.”

“I didn’t see either. I saw their little head but then the nurse took them,” Vince pouted.

He gently laid down on the bed next to me and wrapped his arms gently around me while giving me soft kisses as he said, “You were so strong. I’m proud of you.”

“Thanks for being here for me,” I smiled while lying comfortably in his arms.

“I’ll always be there for you,” Vince assured me. “And our beautiful baby.”

“I love you,” I told him.

“I love you too Kirstie,” He beamed. “And I couldn’t ever imagine spending my life with someone else other than you…..” He trailed off while digging in his pocket.

I knew what was coming… and tears started coming out of my eyes. Vince pulled a ring out of his pocket and gazed into my brown eyes as he asked, “Kirsten Henderson, would you make me the happiest guy in the world and marry me?”

“Of course I will Vince,” I choked out through my tears.

We shared a beautiful kiss before parting and he brought his hand up to cup my cheek as his thumb caressed it.

“Now we can have our beautiful little Bryon family,” He smiled. “But you need this first,” Vince went on while slipping the ring onto my finger.

“It’s beautiful Vince….but what it means is more beautiful,” I told him while looking at the sparkly ring.

The two of us just laid together and neither of us could stop smiling. Our elation only grew as they brought our little baby back in, wraped up in a soft blue blanket.

“Aw, it’s a boy,” I cooed while they placed our newborn son in my arms.

“Little Blake,” Vince beamed as he wrapped his arms around both of us.

“He’s so beautiful,” I smiled as tears of joy poured out of my eyes. I turned my head to look at Vince and do you know what? He was crying. How sweet is that? “Vince, baby, you’re crying.”

“I’ve just…I’ve never felt this before,” He cried.

“Felt what?” I asked.

“I love you so much Kirstie,” Vince started. “But I’ve never felt this kind of love before. I see Blake and I just love him so much, from the second I saw him. I’d die for this little baby and don’t get me wrong, I adore you and I’d die for you too but… this is my son. Our baby. It’s this amazing unconditional love and I just….I just love him so much.”

“I know exactly what you mean,” I beamed. “Blake needs us, and we need him.”

“And we need each other,” Vince softly said while leaving a soft kiss on my cheek then left the gentlest kiss on Blake’s soft dark hair that you could see already had curls in it… just like his daddy.

“I love both my boys so much,” I smiled brightly.

“And both your boys love you so much,” Vince replied.

Blake let out a small coo as his tiny body squirmed a little. His eyelids started to slowly open and adjust to his surroundings. As they fully opened, they revelaed two bright blue eyes staring back at us.

“Aw, he has your eyes,” I beamed.

“And your smile,” Vince chuckled as Blake’s little mouth curled into a smile.

I don’t know how this day could get any better. The man of my dreams asked me to marry him and I gave birth to our gorgeous baby boy. Boy I have a great life.
