The Fae

1/1

The fae come out at dusk. The fae come out as we set our lanterns up to burn in the night. The fae sprinkle their dust on the flowers, the grass, and all of Earth’s surface. The fae bring joy with their essence and pain with their trickery. The fae watch as we put down our daily tools that we use outdoors and watch as we all retreat inside as soon as the sun is no longer seen. The fae watch and wonder why we don’t sit and enjoy the cool breeze that nightfall brings. The fae question why we shy away from their works and why we don‘t accept their existence anymore. The fae think we’re foolish because we see them every evening before we go inside.

The fae fade away with time when our stories of them disappear from storytellers’ voices and listening ears. The fae disappear and our Earth suffers. The fae brought such beauty to world. Now the fae are gone and we only have Earth’s dust, our dried up harvest, and no more magic in our lives.
