Undeniable.

I woke up, screaming at the top of my lungs from yet another nightmare. I took deep breaths like he told me to do, but then I heard thunder roar. It shook the old house, and I screamed for a second time. I ran out of my room, through the dark hall, and toward his bedroom. Once I reached it, I hopped onto the bed, and searched for him.

Then I remembered.

He wasn’t here. He hasn’t been here for months.

I felt tears well up in my eyes, and I wiped them away. Why did you leave? I thought sadly. I knew why, though. He was taking care of his brother, and to do that, he had to stay away from me.

“I miss you, Damon,” I murmured as I laid my head down on the pillow that still smelled just like him.
