Just Keep Breathing.

Lasting first impression.

After setting up my things, the lady I met with yesterday, I think her name was Lindy, appeared and told me what she invisioned for the magazine. I nodded agreeing like I understood, although I was still a bit lost.

We began shooting which lasted a few hours since she wanted everyone in a different outfit with every shot. I couldn't help but watch Katelyn as she ran from model to model making sure everything was how Lindy would like it.

"Katelyn!" Lindy yelled once we took a break. I watched as the girl hurriedly walked over to the demanding lady.

"We need lunch."

I rolled my eyes as I leaned against the wall watching her as she jotted down the womans order and a few others. The woman then pointed over to me. Katelyn's eyes landed on me before nodding to her and heading over to me.

"lunch?" She asked with a grin.

"I'll come wif yeh."

"Non-sense." She said waving her hand, "what do you want?"

I stared at her as her bangs fell into her green eyes.

"I want to. Come on. I'm not goin' ta let yeh carry all that back by yehself." I said placing my hand on her lower back ushering her to the door.

"Lindy will be mad if you do this."

"At who?" I asked calmly as I opened the door for her.

"Me."

"I'll tell her I wanted to go. Not a big deal love."

She sighed giving in as we made our way down the sidewalk.

"She treats yeh like shit. Why yeh do it?" I asked shoving my hands in my pockets to keep warm.

"Got to start at the bottom if you want to make it to the top, Tom." She said with a grin.

I chuckled, "I guess so. She juss treats yeh like yeh a dog or somefin."

I shrugged, "she's not that bad. I've worked with worse."

I couldn't imagine someone treating her worse especially when she was already a sweet girl.

"So Katie, tell meh bout yehself."

A soft laugh escaped her cute lips and I grinned as I tried to focus on walking instead of her.

"Like what do you want to know?"

I shrugged, "How old are yeh?"

"20."

A grin hit my lips, "Yeh a baby."

"Oh? And how old are you old man?"

I laughed, "22."

"Yep. Super old." She joked and I chuckled as I held the door to the sandwich shop Lindy sent us to.

"Thank you."

I nodded as we went to wait in line, "yeh know, yeh are tha most polite person I've eva encountered."

She smiled, "that's sad."

I shrugged, "where yeh from little yank? Don't say America I know that much."

I laughed, "could be Canada."

"Are yeh from Canada?"

"Well, no."

"Exactly!"

She giggled covering her mouth as she did so.

God, was she adorable.

I smiled as I leaned against the counter waiting for our turn.

"I'm from Texas."

"Explains it."

"What?"

"Southern charm aye?"

She smiled, "guess so. I do have to say people aren't so nice here." She said with a frown.

"I'm nice."

"Yeah but go to Texas. Everyone's nice. People have manners and are polite."

I chuckled, "like you?"

She nodded as she stared at the list in her hand. Everyone like her? Did that exist?

"Don't believe yeh."

She smiled, "Well, come visit some time." She said before it was her turn to order. Once we gathered all our food we began the short journey back.

"So what about you Tom? Where are you from?"

"How do yeh know I'm not from here?"

"No offense but you have a crappy accent. It's like southern accents are to America."

"What yeh sayin'?! I don't have a crappy accent!"

She giggled, "do so. It's pretty much jibberish and if I hadn't been here so long I wouldn't understand you at all."

"I take back yeh bein' nice."

She laughed once more as we reached the door to the place, "no, don't. I can't understand you, but it's cute." She said as I opened the door for us.

I felt my cheeks redden and thankfully she was too busy walking in to notice.

"Finally. Over here Katelyn." Lindy waved her over and I followed behind.

She sat the food on the table for Lindy and the other woman.

"Tom have a seat."

I debated on it because honestly I wanted to sit with Katie.

I rubbed the back of my neck before speaking, "actuallah I need ta make a few phone calls if that's ok."

"Oh of course of course. I understand!" Lindy said with a smile as she waved me off. Katie had somehow disappeared when all this was taking place and I grabbed my food looking around for that cute American girl. I gave up a bit disappointed after I had walked around the entire place. Oh well...

I decided to sneak out into the hall for some privacy only to see Katie sitting against the wall her food in lap.

"Hey I was lookin' for yeh." I said sitting beside her.

"Sorry." She said sincerely and I chuckled, "it's ok."

"Just need time away from the chaos."

"I get it." I said with a nod as I began to eat.

"How much longer is this photo shoot?" She asked and I shrugged, "should be anotha 2 hours. Why?"

"Just wondering. Already exhausted." She said playing with her salad that she clearly was done eating.

"Hey Katie?"

She looked up at me and I looked from her lips to her bright green eyes, "what are yeh doin' afta this photo shoot?"

She shrugged as she looked back at her food and placed it back into the bag.

"Hang out wif meh. I don't know anyone in London so it gets kinda borin'."

She chuckled, "what makes you think I know anyone in London?"

I shrugged, "well yeh now know meh."

"So you want to hang out with just me?" She asked.

"Why do yeh sound so surprised?" I asked with a laugh causing a grin to hit her lips, "I don't know."

"Well yes, I want to hang out wif juss yeh."

She blushed looking down at the floor causing her hair to fall around her.

"Um, ok. Sure." She finally said and I smiled. Adorable. I swear.

"Great. Well lets get this over with." I said getting up from the floor and holding out my hand for her. She thanked me as I pulled her up and grabbed up our trash.

I gave her a grin as we walked back in, her hand still loosely in mine which she quickly pulled away probably from embarrassment.

One thing I had picked up on quickly is her shyness. Professional at best but shy when her work wasn't involved. It amazed me how such a shy, adorable girl could handle something like this. If anything it made her more attractive if possible. She was strong and clearly independent. I liked that and oddly enough I liked making her blush. Gave me some sort of ego boost that at this point in my life I desperately needed.

I couldn't get through the shoot fast enough. I wanted to hang out with Katie. No, I didnt like her. I was just, interested...that's all...

Of course Lindy thanked me and dragged Katie with her as she left and I put up my things in a hurry.

"Are you done Sykes?" I heard and turned around to see Katie with a grin on her face.

I chuckled, "I thought tha evil woman dragged yeh back inta tha dungeon."

"I escaped." She whispered looking around as if she'd get caught. I laughed and placed my camera back onto my shoulder.

"Well then lets go before yeh get captured again."

She laughed and followed me out.

"Now what Tom?"

"Well, let meh go to my hotel to drop this off."

She nodded pulling her coat closer to her.

"Wanna get a taxi?" I asked her because I didn't want her freeze to death.

"No it's fine."

"Sure?"

"Go." She said pushing me lightly to start walking. I laughed as she followed close beside me.

"Ok. That was cold." She said shivering as we finally entered the hotel.

"Oh no. Don't want to hear it."

She frowned as she crossed her arms to warm herself up. I chuckled and brought my hands to her arms rubbing lightly so she would feel better.

A light pink hit her cheeks and I couldn't tell if it was from the cold or if she was blushing. Either way, a grin hit my lips.

"Come on love." I finally said and she nodded before we headed to the elevator. I couldn't help but glance over at her as we stood waiting. Her bangs had a tendency to fall into her left eye and I grinned as she blew them from her face.

"You never told me where you were from." She said as the elevator dinged and we stepped onto the floor I was on.

"Sheffield." I finally said and she gave me a nod in return.

I opened my room door and sat my camera on my bed as she waited at the door.

"Where do yeh wanna go?" I asked and she shrugged, "coffee?"

"Do yeh live off that shit?"

She giggled which caused a smile to hit my lips. I realized that when she laughed it was her being polite but when she giggled she truly thought it was funny and I on the other hand, thought it was the cutest thing ever.

"Maybe I do Tom. Maybe I do." She said with a smile as we headed back outside for the millionth time it felt like. Her shoulder brushed my arm as we walked and I looked over at her as she hummed some song to herself.

"What yeh singin'?" I asked and she began to blush. Apparently she thought no one could hear her.

"Oh. Um, some song by The Maine. Heard of them?"

"Yeah. Course."

"I love them." She said with a smile.

"I see that." I responded with a laugh as I held the door to the coffee shop open for her.

"Back again?" The pink haired girl name Gina asked.

"Yeah, my friend has a bit of an obsession." I said pointing to the short girl beside me.

"How do you think I survive Lindy?!"

"True."

She giggled as we reached the counter and the girl smiled, "yeah she's a proper bitch." She said not even bothering to ask her what she wanted. Apparently the girl knew Katie. Then again, Katie probably came in several times of the day so it was expected.

"Same for you?" She finally asked me and I laughed, "No thanks. I've had enough coffee for the day. I'll let her be tha one jumpin' off tha walls."

"Won't happen." Katie said pulling her card from her pocket.

I pulled her hand back and handed the girl some cash. Katie gave me a weird look as I placed her hand back to her side.

"What kind of bloody blokes do yeh hang out wif?!" I asked because she was acting like I stole something from her.

"I don't know what a bloke is so, none?"

"Guys, love." I said grabbing up her coffee.

"Oh, well in that case, still none. Not here anyways."

"Yeh tellin' meh that since yeh been here no guy has tried ta hit on yeh?" I asked handing her the coffee.

She blushed as we sat down at a table.

"I mean, I don' think so."

"I don't believe that."

"And why not?"

"Cause yeh beautiful." I answered honestly and her cheeks were now blood red. She looked down at her cup shyly and I couldnt help but grin.

"Thanks." She said softly and I laughed, "yeh are tha most coy person I've eva met."

"Most what?"

"Do yeh yanks not know any words? Coy. Shy. Quiet."

She nodded, "gotcha."

I laughed and relaxed my arms on the table watching her as she sipped her coffee and her eyes wondered to the window.

I was drawn to the girl. I know it was a short amount of time, but something about her pulled me in and in typical Tom fashion my heart was taking over...and I was very uneasy about that.
