Just Keep Breathing.

The simple ways we roll our eyes are exactly how we disguise our secrets.

"Katie, come wif meh outside real quick." I said finally doing what I needed.

She gave me a weird look and I ushered her to the door.

"What?" She asked softly as we hit the porch and she crossed her arms to shield from the cold.

"Should I apologize for kissin yeh?" I asked bluntly and she began to blush, "I mean, if you want to." She whispered.

"No, I don't want to, but yeh seem like yeh want meh to." I said seriously.

She bit her lip and I waited patiently for her to say something, anything really.

"Why did you kiss me?" She asked softly and I narrowed my eyes at her, "because I like yeh. So what do yeh want meh to do? Apologize? Forget bout it? Say it was just a one time fing?"

She crossed her arms clearly uncomfortable and I breathed in deeply, taking in the chilled air, hoping it would calm me.

"Just, say it was a one time thing." She whispered and I tried my best not to seem completely disappointed.

"Why?" I asked unable to keep my mouth shut.

"Because Tom. We shouldn't do that."

"Why?" I asked yet again.

"Because whether you like me or not you clearly are not over Lexi." She whispered as she looked anywhere but at me.

That was the last thing I had ever expected to hear.

"What? Yes I am."

"Maybe you want to be." she said softly and I groaned in frustration, "Katelyn! Why would I kiss yeh if I wasn't?!"

She shrugged and I sighed, "what makes yeh fink I'm not?"

"You avoid her a lot."

"So?! It's awkward."

She shrugged and I stepped to her, "Katelyn, what do I need ta do ta prove it?"

"Nothing. I just don't want to be a rebound so I don't think it should happen again." She answered shyly and I sighed, "yeh not a rebound."

"Not yet."

I rolled my eyes, "this is bullshit. Katie, I had no intention in goin' ta London and findin' a bird, but then I ran inta yeh that day and everyfing changed and I couldn't help it. I couldn't help but be drawn ta yeh. It wasn't my intention, it wasn't a goal or some way ta get ova her it just happened. Why don't yeh believe that?"

"Because I see the way you look at her."

"Katie, the only time I look at her is when she's round yeh." I answered honestly.

"And if yeh referrin' to juss a few minutes ago I was actuallah juss finkin bout how easy it is for Oli when I have ta fight for everyfing and everyone I want." I said seriously and she moved her eyes to mine.

"I don't like her Katie. I swear ta yeh I don't." I added, "But that's fine. It won't happen 'gain."

She nodded as she bit her lip and I tried not to say anything I shouldn't. I opened the door for us and allowed her in first.

I couldn't help but feel a bit defeated. I don't know why I couldn't just give up and move on or just be her friend. Well actually I knew why...it was because my heart wouldn't dare allow me to do that even if my mind really wanted to.

The rest of the day she seemed to avoid me or stay away from me. I couldn't help but wonder if it would've been this way if I wouldn't have said anything.

Some how I let everyone talk me into going out again and here I was sulking at the bar alone downing my 3rd beer.

"Dude, what's tha matta? Come sit wif us." Lee said sliding into the bar stool beside me.

"Nah, I'm fine."

He gave me a 'I don't believe you' look and I sighed, "Katie's avoidin' meh."

"Yeh sure? Cause she made me come ova here an see what was wrong wif yeh."

"Whateva." I grumbled.

"What happened?!"

"Nuffin. We kissed, she finks I'm not ova Lexi and here we are."

"Yeh reallah like her huh?" He asked and I shrugged bringing my beer to my lips.

"Go talk ta her mate."

"Nah. She doesn't wanna talk ta meh." I said sliding my empty bottle to the bartender who replaced it with another.

"So yeh gonna sit here alone and drink?"

I nodded and he patted my back before going back to the table. I sat there twirling my bottle on the bar. I didn't know what was going on and I didn't want confrontaton so staying here seemed the best way. Although Katie didnt like confrontation eitiher, knew the guys would say something.

"Are you mad at me?"

I looked up from my bottle to come in contact with Kate's dreamy eyes.

"No."

"Then why are you sitting by yourself?"

"Juss finkin..." I mumbled.

She nodded and sat beside me sitting her drink on the bar.

"What yeh doin'?"

"Sitting here with you."

I stifled a laugh, "do what yeh want."

"Tom."

I shifted my eyes to hers once again and she sighed, "I'm sorry. Would you rather have me lie?"

"No. I don't want yeh to lie. I juss want yeh ta believe meh." I answered knowing she was bringing up our conversation from earlier.

"I do."

"No yeh don't. Not reallah. If yeh did, we wouldn't be havin' this conversation 'gain."

"Can we just forget about it?" She asked softly and I nodded, "already forgotten."

Yeah, right...

She sighed, "How many drinks have you had?"

I laughed, "a few...you?"

"Two."

"Looks like yeh need ta catch up." I said as the bartender appeared and I ordered her another drink.

I had to say it was easier to talk to her the more alcohol we got down. Probably because it made that awkward situation disappear. Of course we eventually found ourselves at the table everyone was at. She giggled against my arm as Jona tried to win over a girl seating at the table beside us. It was safe to say we were all drunk at this point.

"He's an idiot!" Oli said laughing and I myself couldn't help but chuckle.

"How are we gettin' home?" Lee asked as he laughed for no real reason.

"I dunno mate, I do not know." Oli said with a drunk grin.

"Call yeh bird!" Lee shouted like it was the best idea ever.

Lexi shockingly didn't come because she had work or what not. Although I didn't care.

"Ah yes. I shall." He said getting up from the table I guess to find somewhere quiet so he could call her.

I looked down at Katie and she gave me a grin.

"Yeh ready ta go?"

She nodded and I kissed her forehead as she wrapped her arms around one of mine. She was touchy feely whe she was drunk. Of course I didn't care at all.

"Gonna sleep wif meh 'gain?" I asked and she nodded. I then pulled her into my lap kissing her cheek.

"I'm sleepy." She said and I chuckled, "that was fast."

She nodded and relaxed her head on my shoulder.

"Ok she's on her way." Oli said returning to the table. I nodded and I stroked katie's hair as she stayed pressed against me.

"Good. My lil yank is sleepy." I teased and Katie laughed softly. I chuckled and wrapping my arms around her tightly.

Oli rolled his eyes with a smirk which I chose to ignore in my drunken state.

"Well lets gatha everyone up and head outside." Lee stated shoving Matt. Matty grabbed Jona by the collar trying to pull him from some girl that didn't seem interested.

"Come on my love." I said softly trying to get her to get up, although I would be fine sitting here with her all night.

She got up and I grabbed her hand as we headed out.

"Why don't yeh listen ta meh?" I asked leaning against the wall as she rubbed her arms because she didn't listen when I told her to bring a jacket.

She frowned and I reached out for her. I pulled her against me, placing my jacket over her as she snuggled against my chest.

"Better." She mumbled looking up at me and I placed kisses along her cheek.

"Can yeh two wait and snog when yeh get home?" Matty joked and I threw my middle finger up at him. Katie giggled instead of blushing which proved she was not sober.

Lexi finally arrived and cramming 8 people in a suv was almost impossible. Katie set in my lap and Matty was pressed against my side complaining about how unholy it was to sit this close to guys.

Idiot, I swear.

"Matty shut up." Katie finally said and that made everyone including Lexi burst out in laughter.

Matty stared out her, mouth agape and she flashed a sweet smile at him causing me to laugh.

"She is not sweet." He finally said and she frowned.

"Awe. Yes she is. Propa lovely." I said kissing her cheek.

"Yeh juss sayin' that cause yeh like her."

"Well I can't help you complain like a teenage girl." Katie said and we all laughed.

"Oh fuck. She's more brill than I fought!" Matt said from his seat against the window.

"Fuck yeh Katie. We are no longa friends."

She pouted and Matty looked away from her.

"Mattyyyy." She whined tugging on his arm and he tried not to acknowledge her.

"Tom." She said looking at me like I was supppose to fix it for her.

"Matty." I said elbowing him and giving him a stern look.

Come on, we all know I couldn't say no to her.

He groaned as my elbow hit his ribs and he glared at me, "what else yeh do for her? Kill meh?!"

"Maybeh." I joked as we pulled up at my house.

He rolled his eyes and she poked his cheek causing a grin to unwillingly hit his lips.

I laughed as I opened the door and she climbed from my lap.

"Forgive me?" She asked tugging on Matty's hand as we headed inside.

"Yeah lil yank. I forgive yeh."

She wrapped her arms around him and he chuckled, "propa annoyin' it is. Yeh shouldn't be so propa cute." He said hugging her back.

I laughed as we waited on Oli to unlock the door. I leaned against the porch railing and Katie finally pulled from Matty. Maybe she secretly liked him and that was the issue here.

I watched them intently trying to uncode something I thought I was missing. Maybe I had officially lost it or maybe I cared too much already...
