Blame It on September

Ivory's POV-

I sat on my porch, waiting for Zach. He said he had 'a special plan' for today.
I was clueless on what he was referring to, but I couldn't wait to find out.

"Hey babe." Zach said, stepping in front of me.

"Hey." I said, jumping up from the concrete step.

"Are you ready for our date?"

I nodded in excitement.

"Okay, but you have to wear this until we get there." Zach said, reaching into
his pocket. He pulled out a blue bandana, that was folded over a couple times.

I wrinkled my nose. "Why?"

"It's a surprise." Zach smirked.

I rolled my eyes, "Okay fine." Zach stood behind me, placing the bandana over my
eyes. He chuckled a little, as he tied it on to me. "Looks like we are ready to
go." Zach clapped his hands together. "I'll lead he way." He said, taking my
hand, bringing me into his car.

"Are we there yet?" I questioned. I couldn't take the anticipation much longer,
I was growing very antsy.

"We are almost there." Zach said, with a hint of excitement. I guessed he was
smiling; not like I could tell, I was still blind folded.

I felt the car come to a halt, and the engine die down. "Okay, we are here."

"Yay, finally." I said, hopping up in my seat.

Zach got out of the car, and came around to my side. He flung the door open, and
took my hand. He guided me along, not saying a word. Until I broke the silence,
"Zach, what's going on? When can I take this off." I moved my hand to the blind
fold, but Zach jerked my hand back down. "Not yet." He whispered. I sighed, and
continued to let him lead the way.

Zach stopped walking, and I could feel him close in front of me "Okay, are you
ready?" He asked.

"More then ready." I declared. Zach stepped behind me, moving his hands to the
bandana covering my eyes. He slowly moved it away, letting my eyes view the
world again. Except this wasn't just another date with Zach; this was something
out of some cliché romance movie.

We were at the beach, but it wasn't just the plain beach. It was beautiful,
almost indescribable. There were little candles and rose pedals spread out in
the sand, tiki torches lit up the water, and a blanket was laid out in the
middle of it all. My eyes couldn't focus on one thing, they floated everywhere.
My mouth hung open in astonishment. "Oh my gosh, Zach. I cant believe this, this
is insane."

"Insane as in bad, or?" Zach questioned, pulling his eyebrow together.

"Insane as in incredible. You did this?"

He nodded shyly. "Yeah, Michael made fun of me for it... But you like it?"

"Yes, its amazing." I said, running in to his chest. I hugged him, resting my
head on his shoulder.

"I'm glad you like it." He said, into my ear. He said putting his arm around my
waist, as we walked to the water. He sat us down, just where the water met the
shore. The waves rushed up, soaking our feet. I was leaned up on his shoulder,
as we watched the sun go down over the water. It seemed pretty surreal, like I
was going to hear my alarm clock go off soon. And I would wake up, realizing
this was all just a dream.

I looked up at Zach, who was gazing at the water, until meeting my eyes. He
smiled down to me, before leaning in and kissing my forehead. That caused me to
blush, which caused him to laugh.

Once the sun was almost completely gone, he reached out to the water. He cupped
some of the water in his hand, splashing me with it.

"Seriously Zach, you really want to start this?" I asked, hiding my small
laugh. He simply nodded, and repeated that action. I finally got up, kicking a
big wave at him. He quickly hopped up, and I took off running.

"So your going to be a baby and runaway, huh." Zach said, chasing after me. We
sprinted after each other all over the beach, whipping sand at each other. Zach
caught up with me, wrapping a arm around my waist. He pulled me over to him, but
I tried to shake him off. That didn't work, just caused us to fall in the sand.

"Now look what you did." Zach laughed, hovering over me.

"Oh so this is my falt?"

Zach nodded, with a laugh. He bit his lip, and leaned in closer to me. Just as
he was about to kiss me I rolled over, and stood up. Zach fell in to the sand,
and looked up at me. A small smile played on his lips; he stood up, and walked
over to me. "You are so difficult." He said, looking down at me. I smiled, and
leaned up kissing him on the lips. Zach's cheeks turned a faint pink; he shook
his head, and smiled at me.

Zach decided to give me a piggy back ride, and I held on tightly to him. He
walked around by the water, pretending like he was going to drop me. Zach ran
over the light green blanket, that was draped over the sand. He collapsed on to
the blanket, letting me roll over next to him. The both of us laid there and
caught our breath, from laughing too hard. Zach rolled his head over looking at
me, he reached out his hands pulling me over to him. I rested my head on his
chest, as his arms held on to me. I glanced up at him, we both had dorky smiles
painted on our lips. "Thanks Zach."

"For what?"

"All of this... It was really perfect." I said, seriously.

"I did it for you, you deserved it."Zach whispered, tightening his grip on me.
"I just wish we had more time together."

"Why do you have to leave tomorrow?" I whined.

"I have to get back on the road. Im sorry baby." He said, tangling his fingers
in my hair. "I care about you a lot, ya know that?"

"Yeah." I bit my lip, hiding my smile that was progressively growing larger.

"Good." Zach said, kissing my head.

I stared up at the sky, watching the stars start to appear. My eyes begin to
grow tried, as I yawned. Zach looked down at me, moving his hand to my eyes. He
softly closed them, and kissed me again. "Go to bed, sweetheart." He said,
hushing me. I listened to him, letting myself fall asleep in his arms. The
perfect ending, to a equally perfect night.
