^*Harper’s POV*^
I woke up with a pair of warm arms around me. At first, I was scared to death, because I thought I was still on the roof, and it’s was Matt’s arms as he dangled me over the edge of the roof, but after a second I remembered Zacky picking me up, and once my eyes adjusted to the lighting, I found out I was in my room. I rolled over and saw Zacky’s sleeping face. I smiled, not wanting to get up, but my burning throat made me. I left Zacky sleeping and I found a jug of water on the nightstand, with a glass beside it. I filled up a glass, and downed it in a few sips. After pretty much half the jug was gone, my mind started drifting. I wondered how they found me, but seeing as Matt was the only one that even knew where I was, it had to have been him. He saved my life twice, even after he came about a foot away from shoving me off the edge of a building, I guess he deserves an apology. I stood up, and walked out. I heard talking throughout the building, so I could only assume that Zacky and I had been the only two asleep. I saw Matt walking out of Parker’s room, and as he spotted me it looked like he didn’t know whether to smile and be happy I was okay, or glare and storm past me. I could only hope for the best as I approached him. I was a bit taken back by his appearance, it looked like Parker got a hold of him.

“Well, you’re still alive.” He said, but it didn’t come across as an angry statement, but it didn’t sound too cheery either.

“Uh, can we talk, somewhere?” I asked, and he nodded.

“Parker made them board up the door to the roof,” She boarded up the door to my roof? “So the only private place to talk anymore is in separate rooms.”

“Zacky’s asleep in my room, so lead the way.” I said, and followed him as he walked down and into his room. I was about to question him about why there was a shelf in front of his room, but he easily moved it out of the way, and once we got back in, I asked him to pull it back in place. He did, then eyed me suspiciously.

“You aren’t going to try and kill me, are you?” He asked, and I shook my head, taking a deep breath.

“I’m guessing since you were the only one that even had the slightest clue I was on the roof, you told them were I was?” I asked, and he nodded.

“I uh…wasn’t about to let you just rot up there.” He said, and I was about to take a step away from him, but then he corrected himself. “That would crush Parker.”

“Thanks, and I think an apology is in order for all of the things I’ve done to you. All of the….beatings, and bloody noses, insults, and taunting. So I’m…” I struggled with the words. “S-sorry.” I stuttered out, the words tasting like trash as they left my lips.

“Now I can see why you wanted the shelf moved back in front of the door.” He said, and then took a deep breath. “I…I probably shouldn’t have hit you.”

“Don’t forget about the busted lip and unconsciousness.”

“Right.”

“And the threats to throw me off the roof.”

“Okay, you wanted me to do that, don’t push it.”

“Actually I was just seeing if you had the balls to.” I couldn’t help but smile, and he shook his head, a slight smile creeping upon his lips.

“Okay, point is, I’m…I’m sorry too.” He said, then looked over at the shelf, blocking the entrance. “I hope no one can hear through these walls.”

“Me too.” I sighed, and then the hard part came. “Now, the apology for kicking your ass is out of the way, but I still owe you an apology for something. I know I’ve said it before, but I don’t think I really meant it towards you.” I looked down, then back up at him. “I truly am sorry for ditching you and the guys in high school.” I said, and he nodded.

“It’s okay, I feel like an ass for acting like such a kid over that.” He said, and I nodded.

“You should.” I muttered self-consciously.

“What?” He asked, and I looked up at him.

“What?” I repeated, and he sighed.

“Do I still have to feel bad about beating up a girl?” I asked, and I shook my head.

“No, it’s okay I guess. I got a lot of sleep thanks to you beating me up.” I said, and he gave me a serious look.

“Okay, now you’re really pushing it.” He said, and I couldn’t help but laugh. I held my arms out.

“Hug?” I asked, and he eyed me.

“You aren’t going to kick me in the crotch, or hit me or something, are you?” He asked cautiously.

“Come here.” I said, and he hugged me, but there was a knock on the shelf, and we quickly pulled away. “Not a word of this leaves these walls.” I said and he nodded.

“Got it.” Then he turned to the door. “What?!” He yelled.

“Well, if you’re going to have that attitude about it, then oh well.” Johnny said, and walked away. We both rolled out eyes, and then Matt looked at me.

“Parker should be up by now, you need to go talk to her.” He said, and I nodded. I walked over, and went to push the shelf, but I only got it open two inches before I turned to Matt.

“Help?” I asked, and he got up from his couch, and walked over, and tried to push it. It didn’t move, but he kept trying to shove it out of the way.

“God damnit! Why is nothing going right lately?!” He announced, and then motioned for me to ‘C’mere’ I did, and he bent down and laced his fingers together. “You are not staying in my room, I feel like you’re contaminating my air.” He said, and I rolled my eyes and stepped onto his hand. He pushed me up, and over the shelf, and I landed on the floor with a thud.

“The fuck Matt?!” I yelled, rubbing the back of my head.

“Whoops.” He said sarcastically, and I seethed. I climbed up and over the shelf and back into his room, he was laying on his bed, staring up at his TV.

“You are a fucking asshole!” I yelled, and grabbed his mattress, and flipped him off of it. He felt through the bedframe, and I put the mattress back on top of him.

“Oh, very mature, Harp.” He muttered, and I got down on my knees and looked under the bed at him, with a glare in my eyes.

“I tried to fucking make up with you, but you are just an asshole, and apparently, nothing is going to change that.” I said, and got back up, walked back over to the shelf, climbed over, but I missed a shelf, and fell onto my ass again.

“Ha, take that!” Matt yelled form his room, and I glared at the air.

“I’m going to fucking kill you Shads!” I yelled, and he shut up. Zacky appeared above me, a tired look in his eyes, and I smiled at him lightly as he helped me up.

“Matt, you need to stop annoying her, or she really is going to kill you one day!” Zacky yelled to Matt.

“She’s still an annoying little bitch!” He yelled back, and I beat my fist against the shelf, and the whole thing rattled, silencing Matt’s laughter. I winced as I looked at my hands, where I had beat my fists on the door to try and get someone to notice me, I had just ripped the skin off basically.

“Why were you in Matt’s room?” Zacky asked, and I sighed.

“I tried to thank the, RELENTLES BASTARD for saving my life, but apparently, HE’S TOO FUCKIN’ IMMATURE TO ACCEPT IT!” I half yelled parts so Matt could hear.

“I’m not immature! If you want to see immature go hang around Johnny for a few seconds!” Matt yelled, and I shook my head.

“I thought I was hanging around Johnny!” I yelled back, and the shelf rattled. “Oh, you’re so scary.” I muttered, and Zacky started laughing.

“I heard that.” I heard Matt mutter. “Zacky if you want to have kids in the future, I suggest you stop laughing.” He said, and Zacky stopped laughing and grabbed my hand.

“Let’s go before he kills us.” He said, seriously, leading me down the row of rooms, and stopped in front of my room.

“Did we wake you up?” I asked, and he nodded, rubbing his eyes.

“Kind of, but it’s good to see you’re okay. I thought you were dead there for a couple of hours.” He said, and I nodded.

“I thought I was going to die. Twice, actually.” I said, in a way hoping he didn’t catch that last part, but then he looked up at me, taking his hands away from his eyes.

“Twice? Care to explain?” Shit, he did catch it.

“Matt threatened to shove me off the roof- well, I taunted him to, but he didn’t. Then once he left, he must have accidentally jammed the door, because I got locked onto the roof, and the next day when I woke up in the sun I thought I was going to die again.” I explained quickly, and Zacky gave me an odd look.

“Matt threatened to throw you off the roof?” Shit fuck…

“Well, he held me down and threatened, but I told him if the tossed me off I was going to take him with me. So we’re even.” I said, and Zacky nodded.

“Well, it’s good that you two are even.” He said, and I nodded. “Care if I go back to bed?” He asked with a yawn, and I shook my head, wondering why he needed to ask my permission, until he walked in my room and got in my bed.

“Zacky? What the-”

“Your bed’s more comfortable.” He grinned, and then rolled over, but not before saying, “Oh, but you need to go talk to Parks, I think there’s something she needed to tell you.” He said, and then rolled over with another yawn. I wonder what was so important with Parker? That’s the second time this morning I’ve been told I need to talk to her. I walked away from my room, and towards her room, but she wasn’t in there. Finally I ran into Jimmy.

“Jimmy, have you seen Parks?”

“Who?” He asked.

“Parks.” I said, and he gave me an indifferent look. “About this tall, red hair, the only other girl in the whole store besides that jackass Matt, and Johnny.”

“Oh, Parker, yea, she’s somewhere.” He said, and walked off.

“Thanks!” I yelled back sarcastically, and he gave me a thumbs up. I sighed and rolled my eyes as I continued looking. “Brian!” I called out, running after him, and he stopped, and looked at me.

“Wh-OW! FUCK JOHNNY, STOP!” He yelled suddenly as two bright pink paint balls hit his chest. He winced, and brought his gun up, firing nearly directly at me.

“HEY! THAT HURTS!” Johnny yelled, and I grabbed Brian and pulled him into the girls’ bathroom.

“I can’t be in here!” He yelled, and I shook my head.

“Well it’s a safe place where you won’t get ambushed by Johnny, so deal with it.” I said, but just as I was about to continue he brought his shirt up and turned around, where there were about five red blotches.

“Is there any sign that I’ve been shot repeatedly with paint balls?” He asked.

“Yes,” I pulled his shirt back down and turned him around, grabbing his arms and forcing him to look at me. “Brian,”

“Now Harper, we can’t…you know what, we can do it in the bathroom stall, c’mon.” He said, and I gave him an odd look, but then got what he was saying.

“Brian, fucking stop! I am not having sex with you in the fucking bathroom stall! I need to know if you’ve seen Parker!” I yelled at him.

“She’s playing with Sheen in the Pet section.” He said, and I let go of him and turned around and started walking. “Wait! Can I get a rain check on the sex in the bathroom stall deal?!” I just brought my hand up and flipped him off as I felt him in the girls bathroom, and started walking toward the pet section to see what Parker wanted to talk to me about.
