Today, in 2054
The year is 2054. I've heard stories about what people in the year 2010 thought the world would be like, with flying cars and intergalactic travel. I laugh at how wrong they are. Hell, I've never seen a like car like those they had back then in my life, only in pictures and old movies.
Legends tell that the earth became overpopulated in 2026. Nobody could think of a possible solution, except for one; we send off all unnecessary people off to another planet with everything they'd need to survive for at least a few years. The world was becoming so unhealthy from pollution that all electricity had to be cut, and they were told that there was no chance of it ever coming back.
Now, though, the world is repopulating fairly quickly and today, in 2054, we run everything by steam power and clockworks, even some creatures that went extinct have been rebuilt to function on steam or clocks.
And these few down the street have been somewhat troubling...
