Sequel: Lost in Paradise

Can I See You Now?

Gerard

Frank's POV

I walked into my second period class, I looked around and my heart skipped a beat when I saw Gerard sitting in the back of the class, doodling on his notebook.
I smiled and walked over to him and sat in the desk beside him, looking over his shoulder.
He was drawing a picture of... Me.
“Uhm, whatcha doing?” I asked.
Gerard jumped and faced me, covering his notebook with his hand.
“Um, nothing.” He said quickly, trying to flip his notebook over nonchalantly.
Obviously, I noticed.
I just nodded.
“So, what are you doing in here?” Gerard asked.
I smiled. “My class is in here Gerard.”
He smiled back, sheepishly. “Oh, right.”
I laughed. “So, do you mind if I sit here?”
“Not at all.” Gerard said, and motioned to the seat next to him.
I grinned and sat down, then just looked at him. Well, not really looked, more like gazed.
He faced me.
It was horrible that I couldn't see his eyes, because his glasses were covering them.
“Why do you wear sunglasses?” I asked him.
Gerard froze. “Uh, well, I just have to. It's personal.”
I nodded, regretting my question.
Why would I ask him that?
The rest of class went by slowly, tension flowing around Gerard.
When the bell rang Gerard jumped up and ran out of the class, leaving me in the dust feeling ashamed of myself.
