Meaningless Arguments

Joey burst through the doors into the theatre just as he saw Darren going on stage. He ran up to his first row seats and beamed. His best friend was a star. Darren saw him and winked.
“Guys! Before tonight’s performance, I want you all to meet somebody.” A spotlight moved to Joey. “For those of you who don’t know who this guy is, this is my best friend Joey Richter.” All Joey could do was bask in the glory of his amazing best friend.

Later on in the show, Joey got a text from Brian.
“I am genuinely sorry for ruining your night with my meaningless arguments. Tell Darren how much I wanted to be there and he was probably amazing.”
“No problem, anything for a friend. Shitwad.”
