Expecting
Engagment Party and Dress Shopping
Later that night i talked to my mom, she invited us to come over tommarow for a engagment party for my brother. I told her that Natalie was visiting and she got excited. The next day at around 2 we all went to my parents house. There was like 6 or 7 cars in the driveway already not including my parents, the house is huge and so the driveway is to. I was really surprised. I didnt think it was gonna be that many people, some must be my brothers fiances family. We walked in and were instantly greeted.
"Hey" i said
"Hey!" everyone said
"Dada down" Isabella said and Pierre put her down and she ran off to play with one of my cousins kids
"Natalie!" my aunt said, shes Natalies mom and Natalie goes to school out of state so shes not home much
"Hey mom!" she said
"So wheres Eric?" i asked
"Right here!. Hey Delilah!, congrats on being pregnant" he said coming over and hugging me tight
"Thanks Eric, congrats on the engagment" i said unenthused, his fiance is nice but like to nice
"Thanks" i said
"Come with me you two, i want you to meet Mias family" he said unexcited. He told me a while ago that their mean people, they have a lot of money so their the type that think their better then everyne. I nodded and leaned on Pierre and we followed
I was introduced to Mais parents, they were pretty rude. Her mom was telling me i should dress a little better. I explained im pregnant and my shirts arnt really fitting much and my maternity stuff in is a box somewhere so i had to wear Pierres shirt. After talking with them for about a half hour i pulled Pierre upstairs with my to my old room.
"I hate them!" i said annoyed
"Babe relax, so what her parents give out hidden insults like there fricken candy. There not your family you dont need to see them again until the wedding" he said but i didnt listen
"And did you see how her mom like glared at Isabella when her and Chris ran past her and Isabella accidently bumped into her. Oh man you dont no how bad i wanted to just tell her off and punch her stupid face!, nobodys looks at my daughter that way!" i said, Chris is my cousins son
"Relax, man i cant believe your getting hormonal already" he said
"Im not!" i said
"You just said you basically wanna deck Mias mom!" he laughed
"Shes deserves it, can we go?" i asked
"No suck it up" he laughed and we went back downstairs
I ignored Mias family all together, i just didnt feel like flipping out on anyone at all. Mias mom kept looking at me weird and i'd glare back. During dinner i sat between Pierre and my cousin Bryn. I could tell Bryn couldnt stand Mias mom either. Later that night me and Mia were talking about the wedding.
"So have you guys planned anything?" i asked
"Uhmm, yeah. We picked a date. March 25th" she said and i looked shocked
"Wow!, thats about eight weeks away" i said
"Mhmm, but my parents are rich and they insist on doing it this fast. Its no big deal to me the sooner the better really" she said and i nodded
"Totally" i said
"Mhmm, by the way do you would you like to be a bridesmaid?" she asked
"Sure!" i said
"Alright, you should come with us tommarow to look at dresses" she said
"Whose going?" i asked
"Me, my brides maids and my mom" she said
"Okay, what time because i work at a elementry school until like 3" i said
"Perfect its not until 4!" she said
"Awesome" i said
The next day after work i hungout with Isabella, Sebastien and Pierre for a bit. About 3:30 i left to go meet Mia and everyone where she said she was getting her dress. It took me about fifteen minutes to get there, the place was pretty big. I walked in and everyone was here and i looked around me, this place was amazing.
"Hey Delilah!" Mia said
"Hey" i said
"What the hell is that you have on?" her mom asked, oh boy
"Its my husbands shirt. Again like i said last night, im pregnant nothings really fitting me" i said
"Well im sure you have somthing that couldve been more appropriate. This is a fancy place" she said
"Mom its fine just leave her alone please. Guys this is Delilah, shes Erics sister. Delilah this is my maid of honor Lori and my bridesmaids Gabi, Shannon and Adi" she said introducing us to eachother
"Hi" i said waving
"Hey!" they said
"Ladys, hello!" a woman in all black said coming out
"Cara!, thanks so much for seeing us today on such short notice" Mia said hugging her
"Of course" Cara said
"Wait she knows this lady?" i asked Adi
"Yeah, close family friend" she said and i nodded
"Come on lets go look at dresses shall we?" Cara said and we all followed her
We all sat down on a couch while Cara took Mia back to try on a few dresses, the first two wernt that great so she tryed on another. She walked out and looked amazing. The dress was mermaid style with a sweetheart neck line that like flowed out at the knees.
"Amazing!" Gabi said
"Yeah its gorgeous, mom what do you think?" Mia asked her mom looking at herself in awe
"Hunny wouldnt you rather have a ball gown?" her mom asked
"No mom thats not my taste, Delilah what do you think?. And you know Eric the best out of all of us do you think he'd like it?" she asked
"I think its beautiful, you look stunning. And i think Eric would totally love it. I think its the one" i said and everyone nodded
"Of course you do" her mom said
"Mom!" Mia said
"Well im sorry for having a oppinion thats actually positive" i said
"Sweetheart you know Delilahs pregnant how are we gonna do the brides maids dresses?. I mean she'll surely grow more before the wedding" her mom said
"Well mom i talked to Cara about that in the dressing room. We deffinetly cant do it like this week because yeah Delilah will grow, i was thinking like two weeks before the wedding" Mia said looking at herself in the mirror
"Okay, well go try on somthing ball gown type please" her mom said
"Fine" Mia said and went back to the dressing rooms with Cara
They were gone for about twenty minutes and then returned, she was in a big poofy gown. It was pretty but not as pretty as the other one. She didnt seem to like it either, her mom did though.
"Very nice" her mom said
"No way!, mom this is to frilly poofy" Mia said
"No its not" her mom said
"Mom i really love the other dress, its deffinetly the one" Mia said
"Really?" her mom said
"Yes mom, so im getting that one because its the one that i actually like" she said
"Fine" her mom said
She went back to the changing rooms with Cara and they got everything all sorted out. After she was done we all went to our cars to leave, i was so glad i was heading home. Im so tired. When i finally got home Pierre was sitting on the pull out couch with everyone. Natalie slept on it so it was always out, im not complaining though its really comfy.
"Hey" i said dropping down onto the bed
"Hey did you have fun?" Pierre asked
"Yeah. Her moms a witch" i said
"She seemed like it" he said
"Mhmmmm" i said lying down and pulling a pillow to me
"I love you" he said
"Mhmm...i have to pee" i said and got up and walked to the bathroom
"Hey" i said
