“Chapter Thirty-Two: Confession of the Hidden Truth”

Aiko: The only reason I’ve been able to keep myself from self harm is because of my wonderful family. Everyone in this room, except Brenda, has some meaning to me.

Brenda: Hey!

Aiko: (Smiles with enthusiasm) Well I’m not gonna lie and say I have any care for you. I don’t like you, silly.

Brenda: Is it because I’m black?

Aiko: (Bursts out laughing) You’re silly. It’s because I don’t have feelings for anyone I don’t know, that’s why.

Brenda: Oh well… ok that works too.

Jason: Listen, Aiko, that night I tried to kill you and I said all those hurtful things to you, I only said that stuff so you would become a stronger person and learn to deal with your emotions and find the strength within yourself to defeat Nissassa.

Aiko: (Excited) I figured as much. I know how much you love and care for me, big brother!

Jason: Listen, Aiko, lets you and I have some fun and say hi to our old teammates; what do you say?

Aiko: Wait are you serious? They’re all here?

Jason: They sure are. A woman named Vex is working with our old team. She’s making Serenade use her spirit energy and summon the Spirit Temple here in our realm. Once she does that, Vex is going to infiltrate the temple, murder everyone inside, and steal the secrets of Spirit Energy. Once she learns the secrets and masters the energy, she’ll be unstoppable. She’ll be able to use spirit energy even if her heart isn’t pure.

Kiyo: So if that was the plan from the very beginning, why would she seal the guardian of earth away inside a necklace? I’m talking about Tenjin of course.

Jason: Most likely she planned to use the necklace as leverage against the Spirit Users once inside the temple. The Spirit Users take great pride in Earth’s guardian, and they will do almost anything to keep him alive. If Vex crushes the necklace, then Tenjin will be crushed along with it, so as long as the Spirit Users obey Vex’s commands and don’t do anything deceitful, she won’t crush the necklace and kill the guardian.

Kiyo: Listen to me, guys, I’m going to try and see if I can travel to the Spirit Temple using meditation. I can use my spirit energy to travel my soul into other’s minds, so maybe I can travel it into the spirit temple. It’s a long shot, but hopefully I can do it.

Kiyomi: Since when can you make your soul travel into other’s minds?!

Aiko: Since Rayna trained him to do it when he was just a wee one.

Kiyomi: (Annoyed) I didn’t ask you…

Kiyo: I once used that technique to connect my soul with Sabrina and Jane’s bond. Once I did that, I was actually able so free Jane’s soul from the Dark Castle. Jane pops up in my head from time-to-time, very annoyed might I add, and she tells me she needs a body. She says that her body is actually still at the Dark Castle. So once we travel there, we’ll be able to throw her soul back into her body and save her.

Eli: But what about Sabrina and Joseph? Do they know about this? If not, then they’re headed straight for the Dark Castle; not knowing that Jane’s soul is not even there anymore. We need to find them right away and stop them from going!

Kiyo: They don’t actually know about this. And I have no idea where to find them, Eli.

Jason: I say go for it, Pyro. Do that soul transfer thing you do and see if you can contact the spirit temple. If you can do that, maybe you can warn the Spirit Users and cut Vex’s plans short.

Kiyo: Got it! Now, I need to meditate, so this may take awhile.

Aiko: You take all the time in the whole world, Kiyo; me and Jason are going to reunite with our old team. And I promise not to get myself killed.

Kiyo: (Hesitant) I’m trusting you, Aiko.

Jason: Don’t worry; I’ve got her back. (Gives Kiyo thumbs up)

Kiyo: (Nods head) Jason, if you let me down and let anything bad happen to her-

Jason: Yeah, yeah, I know, I know; you’ll beat me senseless.

Kiyo: (Intensity in his eyes) No, I’ll kill you!

(The room grows with silent tension.)

Jason: Watch what you say and who you say it to, friend. Some people don’t take threats as lightly as others.

Kiyo: I wasn’t threatening you; I was making a promise. I promise I will kill you if anything happens to Aiko.

Jason: Let’s go, Aiko; it’s getting a bit tense here.

Aiko: Right! Here I come.

(Jason and Aiko turn around to leave.)

Jiro: Hey, Jason!

(Jason stops walking.)

Jason: (Looks over his shoulder and peeks at Jiro) What do you want?

Jiro: Do you remember the last time we met?

Jason: Tch, I sure do. You lied helpless on the ground dead before me. It’s amazing you’ve come back to life.

Jiro: There’s an open space in the middle of the town. Most people go there to hang out but for the next few minutes, it will be the field where we have our rematch.

Aiko: (Shocked) What! No, Jiro! I love both you and Jason and I don’t wanna see either one of your getting hurt!

Jiro: I know you care, Aiko, but understand that I was weak and had no reason to live back when me and Jason fought. But now I can fight back and prove to myself how strong I really am. I plan on becoming king of my fallen clan, so I need to do whatever it takes to push myself to more power.

Aiko: I don’t care!

(Jason chops Aiko in the neck and knocks her out. He catches her before she hits the ground.)

Jason: Sorry, Aiko, but I know watching this fight won’t be easy for you. Pyro, you take care of her while I go serve up your friend here.

Kiyo: Eli, you take care of her; I need to meditate. Which by the way I need quiet for.

Eli: Yes, captain, sir!

Kiyomi: Maybe if you shut your mouth you’ll get some quiet.

Kiyo: Now is really not the time for your smart mouth, Kiyomi!

Jiro: (Thinking) Let me handle this one, Aiko. Back in Royal City, I was killed by Jason in battle. I owe him for that. I need to redeem my pride

(There is an open area where the ground is concrete, and few trees grow around the area. There is a beautiful water fountain with a statue of a woman in the center, and around the open area are tall buildings. Jason and Jiro face off in the empty area.)

Jason: Well, well, as an assassin, you don’t expect to rematch someone you’ve already killed. But I guess it’s always good to try new things. This fight should be exciting.

Jiro: I’m not the helpless boy I was back then, Jason. Now, I have a reason to fight. I fight to someday become king and restore my fallen clan.

Jason: Our clan has not fallen you idiot. Angel killed only the members who knew the hidden secrets of the clan’s hidden powers and were powerful enough to spark a war for world domination. The members she didn’t kill lost their memory from a special technique Angel used on them. The two of us and her are the only members who weren’t brainwashed. Well actually, you were. Have you ever wondered why your past was always so fuzzy?

Jiro: So I’m a victim too, huh?

Jason: (Grins) You are. But Angel wants you to play a game to get your memory back. She will restore your memories as soon as you defeat her; or at least that was her original plan.

Jiro: So it’ll be a few years before I get my memories back then… (Closes eyes for 3 seconds before opening them again) I suppose I should use this time to grow stronger and prepare for the day her and I do meet in battle.

Jason: I see you’re a laid back guy who shows no emotions and let’s no problems get to him. I’ll tell you what- (Draws giant butcher sword and points the tip at Jiro) I don’t come across people like you very often, so I’ll let you live during this fight, but don’t expect me to go easy on you.

Jiro: This isn’t a spare. Neither of us will hold back. Let’s make this clear right now.

(The soft silent wind blows through their hair.)

Jason: Alright, so let’s get this over with.

(Jiro throws a series of green blast shards from out of his blade at Jason.)

Jason: Ha! Weak!

(Jason throws one giant white slash at Jiro and destroys all of Jiro’s blasts with a blast Jason shot out of his sword with one swipe. The blast continues toward Jiro. Jiro guards his sword up to his face and makes contact with the blast. As the blast tries to break through his defense, it slowly pushes him back. Jiro continues to struggle keeping his balance.)

Jason: You’re a lot weaker than I thought. Oh well, time to end this.

(Jason’s sword grows tiny and very sharp teeth around the edges of the blade. Jason swings his sword horizontally and the teeth shoot out toward Jiro.)

Jiro: (Grins) Forgive me for breaking the rules, but I was holding back.

(Jiro’s sword lights up green with energy and blows up Jason’s blast. Jiro once again throws a series of slashes at Jason from the smoke of the explosion. Jason dodges all of the blasts. Jiro slashes away all of the teeth that were flying at him. Jason and Jiro both dash at each other and slam their sword together. They both have an intense look on their face.)

Jason: (Excited) Yes! Now this is what I like- a challenge!

Jiro: We can trade blows all day, Jason, but in the end, I will win this fight! We should just end this fight right now because we both know who will win.

Jason: Chickening out already I see. You want to end this fight because you’re scared to fight me. I figured you would have more fight left in you.

Jiro: Fine, I’ll show you more fight!

(The two of them jump away from each other.)

Jason: Shark Tooth Frenzy…

(Jason’s blade once again grows shark teeth and begins spinning at an extremely fast rate like a chainsaw. He aims the side of the sword at Jiro and hundreds of teeth continuously shoot out at Jiro at a blinding speed, like a Gatling of bullets. Jiro sees the teeth and rapidly slices through each and every one of them with his sword. The teeth continue shooting out nonstop; getting faster and faster. Jiro continues to cut through all of them. This continues on for 15 seconds. Jiro disappears in the middle of the frenzy attack and appears behind Jason. Jason’s sword stops spinning and he holds his sword behind his back to guard Jiro’s horizontal strike. Jiro gets pushed back and slides a few feet. Jason turns around to face Jiro.)

Jason: (Grins) I like your speed.

Jiro: There’s plenty more where that came from.

(Jiro dashes at Jason and the two of them clash swords at the speed of sound. They strike each other nonstop; blow-after-blow. The two of them jump 10 feet away from each other and a giant sword rises from out of the ground in between the two.)

Jason: Egh! Darn it!

(Jason looks to his left and Jiro looks to his right. The two of them see Nissassa, Zazu, and Serenade standing next to one another. Nissassa’s right hand is in the ground.)

Jason: So that’s where the giant underground sword came from. I see you’re still up to your old tricks.

Nissassa: Enough talk, Jason. I’m here to kill you; nothing more. So I suggest you get your battle face on and keep your mouth shut.

Jason: (Smiles) Now you know talking too much is what I do best, Nissa, so why would I stop doing it now; especially now that I know it annoys you?

Nissassa: Let’s see how well you can focus when your mind is set on me and not your own survival.

(A small sword blade extends out of the giant sword in the center of Jason and Jiro. Jason crosses his arms and raises his left wrist with his sword in his hand to guard his face. The small sword blade slams into Jason’s sword and shatters.)

Jason: My mind is always focused on you, Nissa. I’ve never in my life wanted someone dead as much as I want you dead. This will end now! This thirst for killing, your hunger for destroying families, and your desire to want Aiko dead; it all ends here, along with your life!

Nissa: You once looked up to me like a father. You were once like a son to me.

Jason: (Grins) Well you know what they say; get too close to the sun and you’ll get burned.

Nissa: Fine. You’ve chosen your fate. You will die here and now. No one will miss you because Aiko will already be dead and no one else in this world has a care for you.

Jason: Ha! Like I care! I’ve been alone my entire life with Aiko by my side! As long as I fight for her, I cannot die!

Nissa: I’m just gonna have to prove you wrong it seems. It’s two on three and you know I don’t play fair.

Tyreese: Actually, it’s three-on-three!

(Tyreese, Kelsey, and Toshi are all standing behind Jason and Jiro.)

Nissa: And who might you be?!

Tyreese: While Jason takes you out, Kelsey and I will be killing off the dead weight.

Serenade: HEY! ARE YOU CALLING ME FAT!

Toshi: No, baby; I’m fat… you’re just… ugly.

Serenade: HOW DARE YOU!

Jason: (Says to Tyreese) I don’t need your help.

Tyreese: You can’t accomplish anything in this world alone, Jason. I know you have no interest in doing this, but when this fight is all over with and you beat this sorry excuse for a leader, how’s about you join a real leader in his travels. You can officially be the first member to join my team.

Jason: No thanks; not interested.

Tyreese: I’m not taking no for an answer. The two of us rival members of Team Kiyo, we both travel alone, and we both seek similar things. Now after this fight, you will join me!

Jason: (Grins) We’ll see.

Tye: Alright, it’s settled, you’re the first official member of my group.

Jason: (Sighs) Whatever.

Kelsey: Alright you two love birds; I’ll take the girl, Jason, you take the leader guy, and Tyreese, you take the creepy guy with the glowing green eyes.

Tyreese: Did you just try and give me an order?

Kelsey: So I did; what are you gonna do about it? You’re not my leader. (Sticks tongue out)

Zazu: Alright, let’s do this!

Toshi: Hey, Jiro; you and I will sit this one out.

Jiro: Yeah, sure.

Jason: Sorry, Jiro; your butt whipping will have to be postponed

Jiro: I had you in that fight and you know it!

Jason: Ah! Just shut up already!

(Inn)

(Kiyomi sit’s depressed at the kitchen table. Nini and Mizuki stand in front of Kiyomi upset by her sadness. Eli and Aiko sit in front of Kiyo as he attempts to meditate. Aiko is very depressed and deep in thought.)

Eli: Am I the only normal one around here?

Kiyo: Silence, Eli; I need focus.

Eli: (Whispers) Oh, sorry…

Aiko: I can’t do this. I can’t just sit around here doing nothing while they hurt each other… I’m going to go stop them from… Wait a minute… Why is he there? Why is Nissa there?! Wait… I see Toshi, Kelsey, Tye, Jiro, Zazu, Jason, and Serenade as well. There’s going to be an epic battle soon! (Stands up in a rush) I’m sorry Kiyo but right now, I can see through the eyes of Nissa and he’s calling my name. He wants me dead. I can feel his hatred towards me. (Begins shaking) My body is shivering from his ill feelings toward me…

Kiyo: (Opens his eyes) I see.

Aiko: Please, Kiyo; let me do this! Let me fight him, please!

Kiyo: As long as you and Jason fight together side-by-side, you have my permission.

Aiko: Thank you, Kiyo!

Kiyo: (Angry) Darn it, Aiko!

Aiko: (Nervous) What did I do?

(Kiyo looks down at the ground the entire time and avoids eye-contact with everyone.)

Kiyo: You do your best out there and you don’t stop until Nissa is finally dead! Aiko you are my family and I don’t want you to die, but if it takes your last breath and your last inch of strength to kill him for good, you do what you have to. If you die during this fight, you take Nissa out with you… that’s an order… Now GO! I don’t want to see your face again until you come back to me victorious!

Aiko: Yes, sir!

(Aiko quickly runs away.)

Kiyomi: You and Aiko have a pretty close relationship I’ve noticed.

Kiyo: We do… What’s your point?

Kiyomi: Some might even consider your relationship stronger than ours.

(The room grows quiet for a few seconds. Kiyo has an evil look in his eye. In an instant, the kitchen table is demolished by a single punch from Kiyo. The table pieces crash through a wall and leave tiny holes. Kiyo stands beside Kiyomi with misty blue eyes of fire. Kiyo’s breathing gets heavier and the entire room they are in begins to slowly melt.)

Kiyo: Don’t you for a second think I care about one person more than the other! I love each and every one of you the exact same way, Kiyomi! Don’t you ever become jealous of the relationship between Aiko and me.

Kiyomi: (Looks toward the ground in slight depression) Maybe I should just go, Kiyo. I gave my life to always being by your side, but I don’t even know you anymore. Aiko understands you better than I do… how do you think that makes me feel?!

Eli: Kiyomi!

Kiyomi: WHAT, ELI?!

Eli: Let’s you and I go for a little walk. Kiyo needs some alone time right now it looks like.

(Kiyomi walks past Kiyo without any words being said. Nini and Mizuki follow Kiyomi and Eli as they leave the building. Kiyo yells and causes a minor explosion. The entire inn blows up into pieces. Kiyomi and Eli are walking outside.)

Kiyomi: Eli, should we go back and make sure he’s okay?

Eli: (They continue to walk) You should take some notes from Aiko. Do you not understand that your emotions are blocking your perception of Kiyo? The reason why you don’t know him that well and the reason why the two of you aren’t that close is for multiple reasons. One of those reasons are because you’re so obsessed with trying to make him happy, that you forget why he’s the way he is.

Kiyomi: He’s the way he is because of me…

Kiyo: (Angered) KIYOMI!

(Eli and Kiyomi stop walking and turn around to face Kiyo who is about 20 feet away.)

Kiyomi: Have you come to yell at me more, Kiyo?!

Kiyo: (Tensed attitude) 10 years… 10 years I’ve spent training for the day I met Phantom. 10 years I’ve trained for the day I met you again. You try so hard to prove yourself to me, but you don’t understand that the past 10 years, I’ve been also training for you! I knew that once we reunited you would be strong, and in the back of my mind, that’s what pushed me to become stronger and stronger. Once you and I reunited, I planned for the two of us to become partners. Once we finally came back together and had our own family, I figured out the truth as to why you fell out of my life when I was 8 years old. You left and searched for our real parents without me! You left to pursue your own power. You left me without telling me the truth of our parents and now I feel like my life’s ambition was based on you not telling me the truth! I feel like I’ve been living my life in vain!

Kiyomi: You told me you forgave me for that a long time ago!

Kiyo: I thought I did… I tried and tried, but… I just can’t forgive you for your abandonment, Kiyomi! I’ve reawakened the truth of my deepest most inner feelings and now I know the truth of how I feel about you.

Kiyomi: (Smiles) You know, brother… I’ve noticed a few things about you. I’ve witnessed you fight Magnes, Toshi, Kaji, Nissa, Roukujin, and even Tye. What do all those guys have in common?

Eli: Ooh, ooh, I know, I know! They all got beat by Kiyo!

Kiyomi: Well, yes but-

Eli: YAY! I WIN! What’s my prize?! (Gasps) Is it candy?!

Kiyomi: No, Eli! This is an A and B conversation so C your way out of it!

Eli: (Walks away) Fine, but you owe me a prize.

Kiyomi: Anyway, Kiyo, what those guys have in common, other than getting beat by you, is that you forgave them once the fight was over. Nissa tried to kill Aiko and you did all you could to protect her. After you beat Nissa, all your hatred for him was gone and now you have no vendetta against him. That’s one reason why you let Aiko fight Nissa.

Kiyo: That’s one reason, yes. But the other reason is that Aiko needs this fight right now. It’s important to her mentally and emotionally.

Kiyomi: Alright, little brother, you can’t forgive me because you’re not able to. Once you develop a negative mental effect against somebody, you can’t forgive them in your heart until you have a fight with them. (Smiles) It seems I know you better than I thought.

Kiyo: If you and I fight right here, this entire town will be decimated.

Kiyomi: So then we move to the desert area right outside town.

Kiyo: The desert’s hot, sister; I’ll obviously have the advantage over you.

Kiyomi: The cool breeze of the wind is manipulated by my hands. I’ll blow you away in this fight.

Kiyo: (Grins) Be careful you don’t get burned, sis.

(Kiyo takes a deep breath and steam comes out of his nostrils.)

Kiyo: I don’t know if it’s the thought of fighting you or the hot sun that’s making my blood boil; either way, I’m prepared for an intense fight.

Eli: (Serious attitude) Kiyo, what’s happened to you?! Why have you suddenly become evil; you use to be a good guy!

Kiyo: (Turns his back toward Eli) Eli, I’m neither good nor bad; I consider myself… morally gray. (Walks away)

Kiyomi: Eli, listen to me, Phantom is somewhere close by. I can feel it and so does Kiyo.

Eli: Is that why he’s the way he is right now?

Kiyomi: That’s one reason why. Listen, Eli, I trust you to sense out Phantom’s location; can you do that for me?

Eli: Yeah. While I was in the Holy Garden, I was able to learn a few things from Grandma Ming. It turns out my powers didn’t come from her. I come from the same clan as she does.

Kiyomi: Wait a minute, isn’t Osmodeus Ming’s brother?

Eli: Yeah. So that means I have all the same powers as Osmodeus. Now I see why I’m the only one who can defeat him. Ming told me that through my emotions I can mimic more than just a person’s physical strength, but I can also mimic their Bloodline Trait abilities and their Kotodama energy. But she strongly advises me not to mimic other people’s powers.

Kiyomi: Eli, we’ll talk about this later ok. I don’t mean to cut you off, but Kiyo and I have a score to settle.

Eli: Oh right, and plus it’s the end of the chapter…

Kiyomi Narrating: Alright, everyone, so you don’t have to listen to me talk if you don’t want to, but I’m just here to give you a little review on some of the characters. Now! Zazu, Serenade, Jason, Nissassa, and Aiko were once Assassins who worked for Kaji. Nissa attempted to kill Aiko many times. One time he gave her DNA surgery and gave her his special bloodline ability. Aiko can only make tiny blades come out of her body and she can only make 1 blade come out at a time; as for Nissa, he can create an infinite number of blades. He can even create blades and make blades come out of the first blade an infinite number of times. Back in the third arc of the series, which I believe was episode 10-17, Kiyo and Nissa were in an intense battle, but of course my awesome brother came out the victor. Nissa created giant swords which came out of the ground and caused our entire team to fall underground. Once underground, we found these crystals which change colors and slowly drain Koto energy. Anyway, while we were underground we met 2 friends which I hope to see in the series soon. Their names were Sabrina and Joseph. So once we all made it through the underground caves, we found an illegal underground brawling tournament. Tyreese was in the ring at the time and he obviously one the tournament. My brother jumped into the ring and the two of them were in an explosive match! Of course, my bro wins… YES! So after that fight, Tyreese wasn’t seen in the series again until now but he has been mentioned a lot. Now back to the assassins. Zazu and Jason were in the Royal city back when it was just the Kiyo Trio: Kiyo, Eli, and myself. Once we entered the city, a very kind masked woman who went around healing the sick was found showing her love and affection toward Jiro by a tree. It turns out her name was Princess Sasha. Once we all met, Zazu and Jason appeared. Jason fought with Jiro and my brother Kiyo fought with Zazu. My brother once again the victor! But unfortunately Jason killed Jiro and sliced him in half. Princess Sasha used the power of her love and tears to revive Jiro and bring him back to us. Serenade’s character has not been seen very often till now. The bottom half of her body has never been seen but she’s gorgeous on the top half. Okay so who else… oh yeah! Let me tell you a little bit about Toshi! Toshi was actually a character which was supposed to be eliminated from the series. But in episode 31 of the series, his character had an opportunity to make his appearance in the series, so he is now in there. His character has 2 counterparts and he is based off a video game character. His DBZ counterpart is Oolong the pig and his Naruto counterpart is Chouji Akimichi. He was based off the character Bob from the video game series Tekken. Because he was based off a character from another series, he was going to be eliminated. Now! Brenda was also a character which was suppose to be eliminated, but the writer of this story strongly wanted at least 2 or 3 African-American characters. Brenda was then supposed to be a recurring character who shows up in every town and city at random doing multiple jobs and encountering Team Kiyo. Brenda’s character will be recurring throughout the series, and she will most likely show up in almost every arc. And last but not least we have Mayor Roshi of Borgia town. His 2 counter parts are Roshi from DBZ and the four-tails Jinchuriki Roushi from Naruto Shippuden. That’s all for now, see ya next time! Ooh I hope my brother doesn’t kill me in our fight…
