I'm Choking on This Ecstasy

I was bombarded with hugs as we stepped through the doors. Of course Jimmy being Jimmy tackled me and wouldn’t let me up. I groaned under his weight.

“Are you implying that I am fat?”Jimmy gasped, I guess he heard me groan.

“Oh totally,”I said,”you are a definite fat ass.”

“How could you,”he said,”you are so mean.”He stood up and ran to his current girlfriend, Leana.

“Well I guess the floor is pretty comfy,”I said.

“You can get your own ass off of the ground,”Jimmy said.

I pouted and looked at DJ,”Help me please?”

He sighed and leaned down. He grabbed me by my hands and helped pull me up. I thanked him and Val nudged me. I looked at her and she winked. I just shook my head and laughed.

“So Vee, who’s this?”Val asked.

“This is my best friend DJ,”I said.

“Well it’s nice to meet you,”Val said.

“Nice to meet you guys too,”DJ said.

“Well lets eat,”I said.

We all sat down at the large banquet table.

“So how was your first show?”Jimmy asked.

“Well,”I said,”it was phenomenal besides the fact that I got yelled at for yelling at group for flipping us off.”

“Only you,”Matt said.

“Hey you guys know how bad my temper is,”I said.

“Ya, we know,”Brian said,”don’t you remember back in like 4th grade you lit that girl up because she pulled your hair.”

“Hey that little bitch deserved it,”I said.
“And then senior year when you almost broke that assholes jaw,”Zacky chimed in.

“He shouldn’t of cheated on me with the town bicycle,”I said.

“So let me guess,”DJ asked,”you guys were the bad asses of school?”

“Of course,”the guys said.

“Me and Val were like head bad asses,”I said and everyone laughed.

“It’s true,”I said.

“It is,”Zacky said,”that’s the sad part, Vee could kick all of our asses and she kept us in line.”

“Hey what can I say,”I said.

“Ya, so where’s Nikki and Bill?”Johnny asked.

“Well they decided to stay at a hotel since we don’t have to leave till about 7 tomorrow,”I said.

“So how is she?”Val asked.

“She’s great,”I said,”and she’s pregnant.”

“Oh wow,”Val said.

“I know, that’s what I said,”I replied.

“You probably screamed,”she said.

“Of course,”I said. Throughout the rest of dinner we talked about what everyone’s been doing. DJ, Zacky and Brian all broke into their own conversations about guitars.

By the end of dinner,”Well I’m gonna go and take care of the dishes.”

“I can help-”DJ started saying.

“I got it,”Val said,”I need to talk with Vee anyway.”

“Okay,”DJ said leaning back and holding his hands up in surrender.

I looked at the guys,”No hurting, maiming or killing him, he is needed and he’s my best friend.”

Me and Val headed to the back room where the kitchen was.

Maria was in there,”Maria you can go home, me and Val got this,”I said.

“But-”Maria was about to say something.

Val cut her off,”Maria we got this go home.”

“Well I’ll go tell everyone bye and I’ll be out,”she said.

“Okay,”me and Val chirped.

Once Maria was out of the kitchen Val turned and faced me. “What,”I asked.

“You know what,”Val said smirking.

“No I really have no idea,”I said.

“What’s going on between you and DJ?”she asked.

I laughed and responded,”Oh nothing, we’re just friends.”

Val laughed and shook her head.

“What?”I asked slightly annoyed.

“Nothing,”she said.

“Val tell me,”I whined.

“It’s just you and him seem super close,”she said.

“Ya but it’s like,”she said,”god, I don’t even know how to explain it.”

“Well, there’s nothing going on,”I said.

“Who?”I asked playing stupid.

“So how are you and Matt?”I asked.

“Oh no,”she said,”you are not getting rid of this.”

“Why does it matter?”I asked.

“Because you need to quit moping over him,”she said.

“I’m not moping,”I growled, then sighed,”besides, there’s nothing to mope over it’s not like we dated or were in love.”

“Ya but you fell for him and I’m pretty sure he fell for you,”she said.

“Bull shit,”I said under my breath. We remained in silence.

“I’m sorry I brought him up,”Val said.

“It’s okay,”I said,”plus you’re right I shouldn’t be worrying about him.”

“We should all go out to a club tonight,”Val said.

“But we have to leave by seven tomorrow,”I said.

“So I’ll remain sober and you guys can party,”she said,”and when its around 2 we’ll get you bring you back.”

“Well I don’t know,”I said trailing off.

“Please,”Val whined.

“Well,”I said,”I don’t even have any clothes.”

“Well we can run somewhere and get you something,”she said.

“You’re not gonna give up are you?”I asked.

“Since when have I ever given up,”she said.

“You have a point,”I said,”well go tell the guys and I’ll finish up with the last 3 dishes.”

“Yay!”Val yelled and ran out to the banquet room.
