If Love Is Sweet, What Is This, Draco Malfoy?

We booked an appointment with a counsellor

Maia’s view

I woke up the next morning in my own room, and felt starving. After Draco being a jerk last night, I had just gone to bed crying without even having dinner. I didn’t care if he was sick; he knew I didn’t mean what I’d said. How could he even say that to me? He was such a drama queen ‘oh I’m going to die!’ even though I thought of him spitefully, the horrible image of his bloodshot eyes replacing his usual, crystal, mischievous ones and his paper thin, extra white skin and tatty hair scared me a little. He really looked like he was ill, worse than ill. I walked downstairs feeling hung over, and started eating my breakfast in silence. I was soon joined by Lucas who walked into the kitchen and didn’t speak a word as he started eating his breakfast except a tiny little nod at me as a ‘good morning’. I was halfway through my pancakes when I heard Narcissa and Draco come into the kitchen. Draco sat opposite me, and Narcissa sat in between him and Lucas. Draco’s breakfast was set in front of him, but he just kept staring at me. I didn’t look at him as I continued eating, and Narcissa and Lucas were watching us. Draco’s eyes didn’t move from my face, following it wherever I moved.
“I’m sorry” he said, as I finished my breakfast. I stopped eating for a while, before continuing to finish my breakfast, ignoring him. No one said a word through breakfast, and it was only when I got up to put my plates away when my parents walked in through the kitchen door and I sighed.
“Maia” mother said, acknowledging me. I raised an eyebrow quickly before dropping it. “Narcissa. You sounded upset. What’s wrong?” she asked, sitting on the seat Draco had just vacated to put his un-touched plate away too. Narcissa stayed silent, and I left the kitchen before Draco followed after me. I heard the faint murmur of Narcissa’s voice as she filled my mother in on Draco’s profile.

Draco stayed silent as I walked up the stairs and I looked through all of the stuff that was packed for school that was up coming tomorrow. I had planned to go and see Maisie and Millie. After all, it had been such a long time. I picked out a laid back outfit and texted Millie while Draco watched me through my ajar door. I didn’t speak a word as I went into my bathroom, shut the door and changed before coming back out into my room. Draco had not moved one inch. I wasn’t going to give in easy. I sat down at my dressing table and started applying my make-up lightly when my mobile rang and I put it on loudspeaker so that I could finish my make-up while I spoke
“Hey Maia. I just got your text” Millie said, as Maisie squealed ‘Hey Maia’ into the phone too
“Hey you guys. I’ll meet you in a half hour at Hogsmeade ok? We can go and get our robes fitted today. I didn’t manage to get that done. And then we can go park” I said, as I applied a light lip-gloss
“Sure ok… um… Draco isn’t coming is he?” she asked uncertainly
“No” I said pointedly, and I heard her sigh in relief
“Oh ok. Because if Draco came that would mean we’d have to sit through hours of Draco sitting in front of us with a Kara on his face” she giggled. I smirked
“Does that upset you baby?” I asked in a sympathetic voice, and she made a disgusted sound
“Only because we want to keep our dinner in, and watching them making babies doesn’t really support that. Besides, Pansy will probably tag along if he comes, and so will Blaise, Crabbe and Goyle. Blaise, we don’t mind, but we’re not too keen on the rest” Millie said, and I agreed
“Ok, I’m dressed. Meet you in five. Love you, bye” I said, before pressing the red button on my phone and slipping it into my purse. I walked past Draco without making any contact with him what so ever, and skipped downstairs, where Narcissa, Lucas and my parents had moved their conversation to the sofa.
“Oh, Maia, are you going somewhere?” Narcissa asked.
“Yeah, I’m going to get my robes fitted” I told her, and then stopped in my tracks
“Didn’t you do that yesterday?” she asked me. Shit.
“She didn’t get a chance. She was searching for me. We agreed to go together. It was my fault, sorry” Draco said quietly. I stared at him, stunned
“Oh, ok then. I’ll see you later Maia” Narcissa said, and I nodded dumbly. I looked at Draco, and he looked up into my eyes, before looking away. That one look made my heart almost stop beating. It had so much emotion. There really was something wrong with him. Something big.
“I… forgot my bracelet. I’ll be back in a minute” I said, noticing my arm was bare, and skipped upstairs, but stopped hearing Narcissa speak to Draco.

I leant next to the banister and listened to their conversation
“Draco, baby. How are you feeling today?” Narcissa asked Draco. He didn’t say anything. I could imagine him shrugging. “Your father and I have come to a decision. After the string of events yesterday… we’ve booked an appointment with a specialist for you in an hour” Narcissa continued. Draco still didn’t say anything, and I peeked my head above slightly to see Draco’s reaction. He was still looking at the floor. “We booked an appointment with a counsellor” Narcissa said, and Draco’s eyes met his mother’s for the first time. I expected him to flip out but he did nothing. They were taking this way overboard… but the look I had seen in his eyes… maybe they were doing the right thing after all “We believe it would be the best idea. Is that ok?” Narcissa asked uncertainly. Draco still didn’t say anything, but he didn’t protest either. I decided to abandon my bracelet and wanted to get out of here as quickly as I could. I walked back downstairs casually
“Bye” I said quickly before throwing floo powder into the fireplace
“You haven’t got your bracelet on” Narcissa said, pointing at my hand. I looked at my hand as well, then back at her
“I couldn’t find it” I told her, and she nodded, before I stuck one foot into the fireplace. As I put the other one in, my eyes came into contact with Draco’s for just a second before I said “Hogsmeade” my voice wavering slightly as Draco’s eyes bore into mine. They looked like they were on fire. I shut my eyes as I spun round and round, until eventually I ended up in Hogsmeade.

Hope you likey :)

i also wanted to link you guys over to my journal entry about this story and some vital information on it - http://www.mibba.com/journals/read/273414/

and finally i just wanted to say that i think that Mibba users aren’t as interactive as Quizilla users. When I was on Quizilla, I received about 40 pieces of fan mail through my quizilla inbox daily, and here on Mibba – I’m lucky if I even get a story comment or the once in a lifetime message.
So I do encourage all of ya’ll to be more interactive and to share your love with not just me but with every single person that you think deserves it! We can all make life just that little bit better if we tried. It doesn’t cost you anything to see someone has uploaded a story or a tid bit that you like, and send them a message or drop them a comment saying that you enjoyed it. It brings a bit of sunlight and warmth to everyone’s day and it’s such an amazing ability to be able to give the gift of happiness to each other, so why not share it out more often?
Remember – you get what you give out!! So if you help to circulate happiness on Mibba, chances are you – you’ll get it back too :D
Now isn’t that just gosh darn lovely?
