Terrible Things

“I'm waiting for Jack.” Sally said.

“Jack isn't here love.” Sally's mom said.

“Tell him to come. He's playing here today.”

Sally lay in her hospital bed as her mom dialed Jack.

“Hello?” Jack said.

“Sally's leaving. She won't go until you're here. She's waiting for you Jack.”

Jack hung up and ran off the bus. He yelled to the guys “Sally!” They'd understand.

Once Jack got to the hospital, Sally lit up.

“Jack, baby. I'm so-.” Sally coughed, “sorry.”

“Shh shh. Baby. Go. I'll be with you eventually. I love you so much.” Jack kissed her forehead.

“Tell the boys... that I'll miss them.”

She was gone. She closed her eyes and her heart stopped beating.

“So this is the end of me. We've had a good run. I'm setting you free...”
