After All The Things We Put Each Other Through
Aiden’s POV
Gabriel pulled into the drive way like normal on a Friday night. Gerard and I were in the lounge lying with each other talking. Over the past month he and I had come to know each other very well. He told me a lot of things about him and how he grew up and I did too. It’s amazing how things have changed well over 200 years they should have though I didn’t really notice that much. I mean yes I have noticed things have changed but it was more of a gradual thing than anything and I’ve spent my time in three different countries. I haven’t been human for so long that I couldn’t help but ask him about our differences. I know most of them like the fact that we are all exceptionally beautiful though beauty doesn’t really mean anything to us vampires. What I found peculiar and always have is the differences in our love and human’s love. Our love has always and will always be immortal just like we are but human’s change all the time, which I think is absurd especially since they’re always talking about being together forever. Back when I was still young it was like this but there wasn’t always love, divorce was frowned upon in most of the societies and not even talked about in others. Gerard tried to explain to me the differences of how he now felt but seemed lost for words after his first attempt. I’ve always known that the love was different though I didn’t really know in which ways. Gerard didn’t really do a good job of explaining it as I have mentioned.
Gabriel came into the lounge and sat on the couch opposite us looking at us expectantly.
“What’s up Gabriel?” Gerard asked him now leaning on his elbow
“We have to tell Mikey and Frank” at those words I sat up straight nearly whacking Gerard in the head at my swift movements.
“What? No we can’t” I responded in shock, last time Gabriel came to visit everything was fine.
“We have to we’ve run out of excuses and Mikey is really suspicious, I found him in the boot of my car before I left.” Gabriel explained looking at Gerard now, I turned and looked at him he looked saddened.
“Even if we tell them I still can’t see them can I?” Gerard asked with misery coating his words
“No but you can actually talk to them yourself and they won’t think that you’re out there somewhere trying to get by. If we tell them I won’t have to always be sneaking around and I’m sure Mikey will be happier knowing that his brother is safe and now with the girl he loves. Also they would both be happier knowing that Aiden isn’t in a state of depression because of her grandmother's passing away.” Gabriel brought up some really good reasons, I thought for a second, literally.
“How do you think they would react if we told them?” I asked both Gabriel and Gerard, as I had no idea.
“They will freak out especially when they find out how old you both are” Gerard responded straight away, Gabriel nodded.
“Yes and then they will have a lot of questions. They will be a little freaked out at first but hopefully they’ll come around and with any luck get use to the idea.” Gabriel finished. I took a deep breath in, I knew this wasn’t a good idea but it seemed like the only way out of this mess. Then again it’s not like we can run away from it forever, well we can but that’s not what I meant. We would have to face them sooner or later and I guess sooner was better or well for Gabriel anyway.
“Okay so we’ll tell them,” I said after a while of silence,
“We’ll?” Gabriel asked me I guess he wasn’t expecting me to come.
“Yes ‘we’ll’ I think it would be better if I was there too. I’m sure you’ll be okay here by yourself for a day won’t you Gerard” I turned and smiled at him, he just rolled his eyes.
“Are you sure you don’t need to get the babysitters?” he retaliated referring to the times we got Tristian and Elizabeth to look after him while we had exams.
“Hum… that might be a good idea but I trust you for now” I laughed a little; he pulled me close and kissed me on the check.
“Ew too much emotion Aiden” Gabriel laughed, he was always joking these days. Making fun of me because I never use to show emotion.
“Shut up Gabriel” I said and pulled a face at him. I was acting so childish I had never really acted like this since I was human, being around Gerard had changed me a lot and I was glad it felt so much better.
We all went out hunting for a few hours after that. Gabriel hadn’t feed in a while and it was probably best that we did before we go and tell Mikey and Frank we were vampires. Gerard of course was the first to catch and devour his prey because he was the fastest but I wouldn’t expect any less. We had fun hunting, I know it seems weird saying that we had fun hunting and draining the blood of an animal but that’s just what we do; it’s like going shopping.
“Right shall we go,” I said right after we got back,
“You’re going now?” Gerard asked surprised it was better now than latter.
“Get it over and done quickly?” Gabriel inputted dusting himself off.
“Yes and also before I change my mind” I replied, Gerard looked a little down but he’d be fine.
“Okay let’s go. Are we taking separate cars?” Gabriel asked me
“Yes because you’ll probably want to stay won’t you?” I looked at him. If all went well then he would.
“Yeah, Gerard everything will be fine” Gabriel walked over at him; he was standing by the door alone.
“I’ll tell Mikey you’re okay,” he said to Gerard before they hugged like brothers.
“Thanks” Gerard smiled and then looked at me,
“I’ll be back before you know it and I’ll get a cell phone while I’m out” I said as I hugged and kissed him goodbye.
“You better be, I guess there’s no use in telling you to be safe on the road” he laughed, I couldn’t help but join him, I was never safe on the roads (or at least for human standards).
“Everything will be fine,” I said once more before I stood on my tiptoes and kissed him deeply.
“I love you” I smiled and then went to my car in the garage. I brought it around to the front of the house,
“Love you too,” he said in a normal tone since there was no need to shout.
“Race you there” I heard Gabriel say before his car raced out the drive, this was going to be fun. I turned my car towards the drive and then speed out of it at top speed, I was going to beat him like always.
