Like a salt-sore soaked in the sea

I was half asleep as the plane landed. People were pretty much bursting out of their seats with the excitement of seeing their family again. The flight attendants said their goodbyes and let us go.

In the airport, I made my way down the familiar path to the airport KFC. I looked around for a wrinkly, curly haired fat lady. There my grandma was, sitting next to Colonel Sanders. "Hi, Grammy." I said.

"Hello, Alexis" said my grandma in a thick country accent while bringing me into a bone crushing hug. I breathed in the familiar smell of cigarettes and perfume. "You hungry?"

"No. I ate on the plane." I lied. I pretty much ate candy and Starbucks all day, but was full.

The next morning, Grammy took me to MeMe's. MeMe is my great grandma who's retired. I stay at her house on weekdays.

My aunt, uncle, and cousins all came to visit to see me. They left early because they had a church party or something.
