Familiar Breath of My Old Lies

Its been about a week since Brook and I have been in California. I haven't talked to Jimmy at all. I'm still pissed at him.

"Delilah, what's wrong?" Brook asked.

We had been staying at Brian's house for the last couple of nights.

I bit my lip, "I'm crushing on Brian."

"Really now?" She asked.

I nodded my head.

"Wow, so you're over Jimmy? Just like that?"

"Not really.but he's with Clarissa...so yeah..."

"Do you think he likes you back?"

"I doubt it. He probably sees me as Austin's baby sister."

Val walked into the kitchen.

"You know that's a lie. Have you seen the way he looks at you? I haven't seen him that way since him and Michelle broke up."

"No...what are you talking about?" I asked.

"Val is right. I've seen the way he looks at you too."

"You're both crazy," I replied.

"Whatever. Don't believe us," Brook said rolling her eyes.

The conversation stopped when Brian appeared in the kitchen.

"Talking about me?" He asked arrogantly.

"Maybe," I smirked.

The girls smiled and then walked out of the kitchen leaving me with Brian. That made me nervous.
