Familiar Breath of My Old Lies

Chapter Thirty-Five

What the hell? What’s wrong with me? Where am I?

I looked around at my surroundings and I knew I was dead.

You’re not dead, yet at least, Delilah.

Yet?

Yet. And you won’t die. It’s not your time.

I couldn’t see anything, but I could hear every word they spoke.

“This is all your fault Brian,” I heard Austin say.

Brian’s here?

“I’m so sorry Delilah. I can’t believe I did this to you,” Brian said.

I wanted to tell him I was sorry too, but I couldn’t speak.

“I love you so much, please, don’t leave me,” He pleaded.

It made me want to cry at how vulnerable he sounded. I couldn’t imagine the Synyster Gates as vulnerable. It made me laugh.

“She’s not going to wake up anytime soon, Mr. Haner. When she fell, she hit her head pretty hard and mix in the vodka and pills…..she’s going to be out for awhile,” The doctor said.

I hit my head? I don’t remember hitting my head.

“We need to do some more tests, so you can go wait outside with your friends.”

I heard the door open and shut then I was being pricked and prodded with needles.
I hate needles. If I was conscious, I would totally kick their asses, or try to at least.
