Familiar Breath of My Old Lies

Chapter Nine

"When are you guys leaving?" Brooke asked.

"On Friday," Austin replied.

I bit my lip and Jimmy just smiled at me.

"I'm gonna miss you guys a lot," I said.

"We'll miss you too," Austin said.

After dinner, I headed back to Jimmy's hotel with him.

"I really will miss you when you leave," I said.

Jimmy took my hand as we walked up to his room.

"I'll miss you too.more than you know."

We sat down on his bed and he wrapped his arms around me.

It was silent and a bit awkward. Then he leaned over and kissed me. It was a sweet simple kiss, but I knew it was the start of something completely new.

"I like you a lot Delilah. I want to get to know you more."

"I like you a lot too, Jimmy."

He kissed me again.

Its now Friday and the guys are leaving us. Brooke and Austin spent a night together in our dorm room. Let's just say, I ended up staying with Jimmy that night because of those two. Just ew.

I was standing in front of Jimmy at the airport and I hand my arms around his neck. He was the last person I had to say goodbye to.

"Promise you won't forget about me and start something with a football player?" Jimmy asked.

"I promise. As long as you don't mess with any groupies"

"Deal," He said and laughed.

I kissed him and then hugged him again.

"I'll see you soon."

He nodded and I watched him walk off.

"We got it bad," I said to Brooke.

"Oh yeah, I know."

I sighed, "Well, come on. We have a game to get ready for."

I talked to Jimmy on the phone for three straight weeks and then the phone calls stopped. I talked to my brother and Brian all the time. There was something they were keeping from me and I wanted to know what it was.
