I Don't Know What to Write!

~Kairos~

I sat in the kitchen with my sketch book and drew the salt shaker in front of me. I thought about how I wanted to become an actor and do something else besides being an artist. But as I flipped through my book, I began to wonder why I was trying so hard to turn away from something that I’m good at and love.

“Kairos?” Someone said from behind me. I turned on the stool and faced Luke. I brushed my hair out of eyes and smiled.

“Hey Luke,” I said giving him a nod. He laughed and sat beside me.

“So, what’s in the book?” He asked gesturing to my sketch book. I slid it over to him.

“Drawings,” I said before standing up and walking to the fridge. He opened the book and flipped through it.

“Whoa, is this Master Chief?” He asked looking at one of the drawings. I laughed and pulled a Coke out of the fridge.

“Yeah, I got bored one day. Do you want a soda?” I asked before closing the fridge.

“Nah. Dude, this is awesome,” He said turning the page to see Captain Price. I laughed before washing the top off and opening the soda.

“I get tired of playing, so I draw them,” I said with a shrug.

“That explains everything,” He said continuing to flip through the book. I took a sip of the Coke and set the can on the counter.

“My mom has been talking non-stop about your painting in her art class the other day,” He said looking up quickly.

“Oh, that?” I replied with a small laugh.

“Oh, trying to be modest now,” He said holding up a rough sketch I had of him. I felt my cheeks flush and took another sip of the soda.

“How did that get there?” I said with a laugh. He chuckled and turned the page to see the next few sketches of Jason, Steve, Jonghyun and Plum.

“Well, I guess I’m not the only one,” He said with a laugh.

“Don’t think you’re so special,” I replied taking the book from him, but he pulled it right back and opened to a blank page.

“What are you doing?” I asked.

“Drawing,” He said grabbing the pencil and looking at me. I stood there with my arms crossed and laughed. I watched as he dragged the pencil against the paper and took a step forward when he set the book down in front of me.

“Well, I shouldn’t be surprised that you know how to draw considering who your mom is,” I said looking at the quick sketch of me.

“Nope. Mom insisted that I learn how to draw. So, here I am!” He said holding out his arms. I laughed and closed the book.

“Well, I better get a move on,” I replied grabbing my Coke and heading to the door.

“Goodnight Kairos,” He said after me.

“Night Luke,” I said putting my hand up in a small wave and leaving the room.

-Luke-

I sat with my arm around Syhona. Her lips were pressed against and moving in sync with mine. When she pulled away, I looked into her eyes and smiled. Sure, I was going to miss this, but I know that it would be easy to move on.

Her hair was tied up and she had black make up marks under her eyes from the Call of Duty session we had. Her pants were camo and she wore a tank top and her heels were dark and frilly.

“So do you know how long you’re going to be there?” I asked, but didn’t really care.

“I’m not exactly sure, but it’s whatever!” She replied with a smile. I nodded and played with her hand.

“Why did you hide you from me?” I asked, a lot of girls hide things from me. But with her, it was the fact that she was badass and just plain awesome. Usually it’s the fact that they aren’t a virgin or that they have a boyfriend, not playing Call of Duty.

She sighed, “I don’t know. I guess, I just wanted to be the ideal girlfriend.” I felt my heart skip a beat. Did she think we were going out? Because, that’s not what I meant for her to think. I like to have fun with girls, not go out with them. I felt myself let go of her hand and straighten my legs.

Like every other guy that comes around, once commitment comes into the picture I can’t do it. I’m sure there is that one girl who will change that, but I don’t know if it is anyone I know now.

“Oh,” I said clearing my throat, “Well, it would have been awesome to know. We could have been doing this before.”

She laughed, “I guess I should have.”

“Well, it was great what we had. And, long distance never works. Especially if it’s with me,” I said honestly. She looked at me and smiled. I leaned in and kissed her again. I stood up and headed to the door. I turned back and winked before leaving the room.

I sighed and walked down the hall toward the kitchen. I peeked in before entering and saw Kairos sitting at the bar drawing. I smiled. This girl was definitely something else, and I liked that.
