Two Worlds

The Punishment

King Edward immediately got off me, while I was still tied up, looking at Duke Richard who was holding a gun at this particular moment.

I remember that gun.

It was Dad's gun.

Duke Richard barely knew how to use it.

Duke Richard pointed the gun at King Edward, frantically shaking his head. They walked around in a half circle, while Duke Richard came to sit next to me on the bed, untying the rope that was around my ankles and wrists.

"What are you doing here?" I asked him as he was untying the last of the ropes on my wrists.

"I came back to give you this object. I had just noticed it was a gun. But understanding now, it might be able to come in handy." He replied.

I tried grinning a little, while Robby was standing outside the hallway, with no ropes tied to him. I tried to imagine the image of Duke Richard helping Robby get untied. After I was completely untied, I grabbed Duke Richard's arms, tugging onto wrists, standing behind him.

We kept walking in a circle, with the gun still pointed at King Edward.

"Uncle. I demanded for you not to hurt Madison. Anyone but Madison." He started.

"I was not going to hurt her," King Edward replied. "I was going to teach her a lesson. Did you not warn her about this?"

"I did." He continued shaking his hands as he was holding a gun with no knowledge, "But I allowed her to come. Madison is right. You don't deserve any of this respect. These poor innocent servants have done nothing to you. You need to let them go."

"You violator. You have betrayed me. You are the nephew that I trusted the most. How can you betray me like that?!"

"I'm not betraying you. I'm not betraying anyone. The only thing that I have done is come to my senses and understand what is right and what is wrong. Let go of them, Uncle Edward."

King Edward came closer to us, while he exclaimed, "Don't come closer, Uncle!"

He completely stopped, while Duke Richard and I began going towards the door.

"Calm down, Richard. You are quarreling. Put the gun down, Richard."

He shook his head, "If you try to hurt Madison, I will do any power I have in me to get revenge on that person. I don't care if you are my Uncle or not!"

I breathed heavily, carefully leaving the room, then Robby immediately grabbed me out of the room.

Duke Richard continued pointing the gun at his Uncle, exiting the room as well.

"Madison, Robert... Get all the servants and get them out of here."

"Are you sure?"

"Do as I say!" He demanded.

I nodded quickly, grabbing Robby, then we ran downstairs.

With all the girls together downstairs, I immediately told them to leave the house. They all stood there in shock, so Robby repeated, "Leave the house, now,"

After trying to get out, I heard a loud gunshot sounded through the upstairs. Everyone jumped and I became afraid of what might have happened. Would Duke Richard actually shoot his own uncle?

I looked at Robby, saying, "You take them. I have to go see Duke Richard."

"Madison," He said, with a worried tone.

"Don't worry," I insisted.

I sprinted up the stairs again, trying to find Duke Richard and King Edward. Where did they go? I went to check in that room but they weren't there. But then I saw Duke Richard's back in another room, so I quickly sprinted to him.

He looked at me, with a confused face, then I looked at the room seeing King Edward lying down on the floor.

Shot in the arm.

My eyes widened.

"You shot him?" I asked.

"He threatened to murder you,"

I tugged on his wrists, nodding, "That's enough. Let's go."

As much as I hated King Edward, I wasn't enjoying seeing his arm being shot right now. That had to hurt like hell.

Before I could feel any more pity for him, I grabbed Duke Richard by his arms.

I grabbed his hand, and it was shaking in fright so badly at the moment. I looked at him, as we met eyes, and he had no idea what to do.

He shot his Uncle in the arm, and he had no idea what to do next.

I pulled him out of the room, but he fell down, making me lean against the wall. He sat down on his knees, looking at me, completely shocked and confused.

"I don't know what to do, Madison."

"We need to go."

"I shot my Uncle."

"He's not dead."

He scratched his head, leaning his weight against me, making me realize that he was a really heavy guy.

I sighed heavily, not knowing what to do as well.

He wanted to help us, but he didn't want to betray his Uncle as well.

"Come on, I'll help you get up."

I began getting up, helping him in the process. While we stood side by side with each other, he had his arms around my shoulders to get a grip of walking.

But all of a sudden, I heard a small scream from the back of us. We looked at each other, turning around to see King Edward coming at Duke Richard with a knife.

Before I knew it, Duke Richard was stabbed in the stomach.

Oh no.

No, no, no, no, no, no.

No, this is not happening.

Duke Richard took his arms off of me, holding onto the knife that his Uncle had just stabbed him with. They looked each other with eyes of fury, glaring upon the knife.

Blood began coming out of Duke Richard's mouth as he stumbled back into the wall.

"Uncle," He said, with a very short breath.

"You imagined I would let you go easily?

I stood there in fear and anger, as I saw Duke Richard slowly sliding down the wall, with blood seeping through his shirt. Now I was the one who was shaking, as King Edward took the knife to of him. He stepped back a little, so I took that advantage to sit next to Duke Richard.

"How are you?" I began.

King Edward chuckled, holding onto his arm, "I have told you. I can do anything I desire."

I glared at him, holding onto Duke Richard. King Edward dropped the knife, heading downstairs.

"Leave, Madison," I heard Duke Richard say.

"What?"

"If he has murdered me, he will not let you go."

"You're not dead yet, we can get you help,"

He chuckled, in pain, "Even if you can help me, he will stab me another two or three times until my heart stops beating."

No, no, no.

I have already saved him once from the accident. He can't die here, in this house.

Tears rolled down my face, so I grabbed onto his face, trying to wipe the blood that was constantly coming out of his mouth.

I stuttered, crying, "I can't let you die here. You can't die at all."

He grabbed my hands that was on his face, holding it tightly. "I can feel my breaths becoming shorter and shorter."

I squeezed his hands, crying, not knowing what to do. I didn't know how to help him at all at this point.

By this point, King Edward had already left the house.

"I'm glad we were able to meet each other. Even though I was vile to you in the beginning, but there was never a moment where I didn't admire you."

I looked at him, crying, not knowing what to say or what to do. He coughed more blood out, leaning his head back. "Even though this is our last meeting for this life, I am certain we will meet again in my next life. I will wish for it."

I cried even more, placing my forehead upon his forehead. I sighed, "The next time we meet, I promise that we will be in a much better situation than this."

I could feel him smiling as I pulled away from him. He placed his hands on my face, wiping the tears that were sliding down my eyes.

He started, "I have heard you talk to the servants in an odd form of first person and I want my last words to be..."

I narrowed my eyes a little, not understanding what he was saying completely.

He lost his breath a little, trying to talk, he finally said, "Tell Robert... That... I... I... I... love him."

He continued breathing heavily, and stretched his neck up a little, but then continued, "I... I... I... Love... both... of... of... you... gu... guy... guysssss..."

He took the words that I enjoyed saying to the servants and everyone else; I love you guys.

With that, his hands dropped from my face, and his eyes completely shut. I sobbed, hugging onto him, not hearing his heartbeat anymore. I heard footsteps running up the stairs, when I saw Robby coming around to stand in front of us. He bent down, as I was still hugging on to him, as Robby rubbed the topped of his head.

"This is impossible," Robby stated.

I pulled away from Duke Richard, seeing his dead body laying there, upon the wall.

I wiped tears off, sitting next to him, not knowing what to say.

"Richard's dead," Robby said, quietly.

"Uncle will not let you go if he has killed his own nephew," He said, continuously.

I grabbed Robby's hand, asking, "Did he do anything to you?"

"Not yet."

--

"Your dress is ripped," Elizabeth stated as we were staring at the backyard that was filled with bodies. I looked down, seeing my jean shorts popping out and sighed, "Yeah. I saw that yesterday when I was tied up."

I reached out through the rip, feeling something in the pockets of my jean shorts. I narrowed my eyes, reaching out and there was a lighter. I held it up, looking at Elizabeth, then stared at the metal fence that was hidden by the huge trees.

Pulling my hair out of my face, a lightbulb clicked into my head.

I think I just got another idea.

--

"Someone is missing," King Edward stated as all the girls were scattered along around the house.

King Edward went back to London, so he wasn't here for about a week.

About five days ago, I used the lighter to slightly burn the fence, so there was an escape path for the servants. We sent one girl out and she hasn't been back for three days, and I think that's a good sign.

None of the girls responded to King Edward's statement and he coughed once more, "I said... One is missing. Where is she?"

I was listening in at the top of the stairs, with Robby in room, trying to get the hung girl out of the closet. After a few minutes, Robby whispered my name, so I turned around, still frightened at Duke Richard's body still sitting there.

I closed my eyes, passing him, entering the room, while I shut the door behind me softly. Robby had been standing by the window, looking at something so I went up next to him to see what he was looking at.

"What are you looking at?" I asked.

I turned to him, to see him grinning, so I turned back around to the window. But I didn't get what he was looking at. The streets were still so empty, and all the trees were blocking this particular road.

"Look very far away," He said, with a smiling tone.

I narrowed my eyes, making my vision clearer, seeing a car parked about three blocks from this house.

I looked at him with a puzzled look. He continued, "I know that automobile. That is Father's automobile."

Father's.

As in Prince Alfred.

"He's here?"

Robby nodded as I looked back at the window. It wasn't only Prince Alfred's car, but it was five other cars parked next to him. A smile was spreading across my face as Robby placed his hands on my back.

All of a sudden, we heard a huge thump sound coming from downstairs and I began to worry.

"Oh no. Don't tell me he's taking another servant."

I sprinted out of the room, down the stairs, to see Elizabeth standing by the couch. I ran up to her, asking, "What happened?"

"Amelia is next,"

I shot a look at her, "What?"

"He has a stick. A large stick." Another girl yelled out.

"Where are they?" I asked.

"Amelia ran down the basement to try to get away from him,"

I sprinted down the basement, softly, hearing Amelia screaming while she was running away from him.

"This is not a game, Amelia!" He screamed.

I hid behind the stairs, while I saw that he grabbed her by the neck. I wanted to go in, but he had a huge wooden stick in his other hands. He let go of her neck, beginning to hit her with the stick.

She ran around again, and I hid myself, not able to see what was happening.

I heard the whacks, like a lumberjack cutting up a tree with an ax. This was basically the same situation and the same sounds.

He continued hitting her, but the sounds were coming at a distant so I looked over again to see her covered with blood. I sighed heavily to myself, as King Edward began kicking her towards somewhere, because the sounds were fainting.

I could still hear the hits and screams faintly, but eventually they went away.

After five minutes, the screams, the hits, the kicks, were all gone and I heard footsteps coming towards my way.

Crap.

I sprinted up the stairs softly, entering the room, then sprinting back up the stairs. I went back in the room, when Robby was still in the same place, closing the door.

"He just killed Amelia,"

"What?!"

I didn't want to cry anymore.

I knew what my mission was.

I had to be strong with this.

I went to the bathroom to quickly change my shorts into jeans and a t-shirt, not caring what was going to happen at this point.

I didn't care how I looked anymore.

"What are you going to do?" Robby asked.

Coming out, with pulling the edges of my t-shirt, I replied, "This isn't going to end pretty. So I don't think I need to look pretty."

I exited the room, pulling Duke Richard's body up, then headed down the stairs.

"Madison, have you gone mad?"

With Duke Richard's heavy body leaning against me, we both walked down the stairs, and I saw King Edward at the front of the door.

I walked up to him, glaring at him, placing his nephew's body carefully on the floor.

He looked at what I was wearing, giving me an extremely confused look.

"Are you proud?" I started.

He glared at me, so I repeated, "Are you proud? I asked you a question, King Edward."

He continued staring at me, so I smiled at him. I heard Robby run down the stairs, stopping right at the bottom.

"You asked me where I was from. What kind of human being I was, right? I'm gonna tell you. I am from the future. As in the year 2012. This is my house in the year 2012. I'm not an average American, I was sent back here by these innocent servants to help them. So I wanna ask, how proud you are of murdering your own nephew?"

"You have exploded," He said, calmly.

"Yes. I have. You have killed too many people, and it is killing me that you're getting away with it. You're dying in seven more years anyway, so maybe you should just stop now."

"You dare speak to me like that?"

"Yes. I dare. Because I've had enough of this. It's sickening, and it's disgusting. How could you do this to your own nephew?!"

I pointed at Duke Richard's dead body, but King Edward inhaled and exhaled his breaths, so angrily. Unexpectedly, he walked passed me, going down the basement again. I glared at Elizabeth, who had a frightened look on her face. Around two minutes later, he came back up dragging Amelia's body.

It was filled with blood and cuts, and bruises.

I saw Robby from the corner of my eye, leaning against the stairway, while he signaled for me to go outside.

I slightly nodded, while King Edward unexpectedly grabbed my arms. "Come with me."

He dragged me out of the house, onto the backyard again, with Amelia dragged across the floor in his other hands. When we stood in the backyard, in front of the huge hole he had dug, he kicked Amelia in. My eyes widened at him. The hole was entirely deep and I wouldn't be able to get out if I had gone back in.

I tried holding my tears back, because I wanted to be strong, but it was pretty hard.

"Be careful of your words, my dear Madison," He said, disgustingly. "You may be part of this pit."

"Over my dead body," I heard a familiar voice said on the sidelines. We looked over seeing Elizabeth, who had been holding the stick that he killed Amelia with in her hands.

What the hell was she doing?

"Let Miss Madison and Duke Robert go, and we are all willing to die and be buried in this pit hole of yours. Miss Madison understands what we want in the far future. Let her go now."

She pointed the stick at his face, and he began laughing, like a madman.

"Haha, haha. Elizabeth, my dear. You think you can win? By this stupid wooden stick. I can kill with my bare hands."

She still held the stick out to him, moving him closer to the hole. All of a sudden, King Edward pointed to something on the deck, exclaiming, "You fool! You betrayer!"

Before Elizabeth knew he was completely lying, she turned around, and he took the advantage to take the wooden stick, kicking her entire body into the hole. She screamed, and I yelled, "Elizabeth!"

No.

Out of all the servants, he cannot take my Elizabeth. I bent down, trying to reach for her as King Edward continued chuckling.

"You bastard!" I yelled, crying.

"... You vile bastard!" I continued.

He laughed at me, assuming I was an idiot but I had no idea what to do.

He came over to me, grabbing my hand tightly, and Elizabeth struggled to get back up.

"Miss Madison," She started. "Don't worry about me."

I turned to King Edward, "She's not dead yet. How can you bury her when she's not dead?"

"Oh... Perhaps, this is another show you'd like to stay and watch for."

He pushed my forehead, making me land on the ground. I tried to get up, and I struggled so hard to get up, but he stepped on my hand, grabbing the shovel, letting the dirt go back in the hole.

"Elizabeth!" I screamed. "Try getting up, don't let him do it to you!"

She tried, but she couldn't.

He threw the dirt back in more and more, until it covered her entire face. I couldn't see her face anymore. I cried even more, with my hands stepped on in pain.

"Elizabeth," I yelled, losing my voice a little.

He placed the dirt back in the hole halfway at this point, and I hadn't had a clue if she was even dead yet.

Suddenly, dogs began to bark, so King Edward stopped his activity, dropping his shovel. When we both turned around, Robby stood there with a gun pointed to him, saying, "Uncle. You're done."

--

"Do I need to murder another one of my nephews, Robert?"

"No, Uncle," Robby answered, calmly. "You will not be able to do any murdering after this. Because prison is awaiting for you."

"Prison?" He asked confusingly.

He then began laughing again, "And who will reveal?! You imagine if this story gets revealed, I will let anyone go?"

We all stayed quiet for a few minutes, when I heard another familiar voice come from the sides of the house.

"But it already has been revealed, my dear old brother."

Prince Alfred came out of the corners, revealing himself, with his arms crossed.

King Edward was still stepping on my hands, as I tried getting out of it. I looked down at the hole, seeing if i could try and help Elizabeth, but he wouldn't let me out of his step.

It was killing me right now.

Prince Alfred came to stand beside Robby, while he still held the gun onto him.

"You betrayed me," King Edward said.

"I didn't betray you, Edward." Prince Alfred replied. "We never betrayed you. All of this matter, this vile matter... It all started because you were just a spoiled man ever since birth. This was all you. No one had to betray you for this to be found out."

I looked up, and his face was completely out of it.

More dogs began barking, meaning the other cars probably came by now.

"Uncle," Robby started. "Let go of Madison, now."

When we heard cars pull out, King Edward stepped off of my hand, going towards the escape channel I made with the fence. But I grabbed his ankles with both of my hands, trying to make him stay. I groaned, and struggled, trying to get him.

After a few seconds of fighting, I tried to gather all my strength together, dragging him. He tripped on my hand, falling in to the hole.

I breathed heavily, as I saw him laying there in the dirt. A few seconds later, a group of police officers (my guess), came through the backyard with guns in their hands, surrounding the pit hole.

"You're under arrest!" They said at different times.

I stood up, limping towards Robby, as his right arms went around my shoulders. He used his left arm to hold onto my hands, as I leaned against him, crying.

"We're done, Madison." He finally said. "We're done."

--

"Maddy, what's wrong with you?" Robby asked, as he pulled my hair out of my face. I frowned, looking out the window of the moving automobile.

"I wasn't able to save, Elizabeth." I stated, not looking at him.

He grabbed my hand, replying, "But you were able to help most of them. You stated yourself the particular spirits in your house were Elizabeth, Amelia and Valeria."

"It's not the fact that I have to do a calculation," I noted, turning around to look at him. "It's the fact, that Elizabeth is one of the people I loved the most when I came here. And she got buried alive, in front of me."

I began crying, losing my words.

"Out of all the people, I wanted to help..." I cried. "Elizabeth was always the top person."

Robby grabbed me by the back of the neck, seeing me cry, bringing me into a hug. My tears went through his shirt, but I didn't care.

I was so upset with myself right now. It was all my fault that I had to die.

If I hadn't been there, they could've had a longer life.

Live much better.

"All of the mistresses love you, Maddy," He said. "They've repeated utterly a variety of times that an angel has been sent for them."

Then why do I feel like such a devil and that I deserve to go to hell?

--

In the past two weeks upon my return to the palace, King Edward had been arrested but the story about all the bodies underground was not to be revealed yet.

They knew about King Edward's arrest for murder, but they didn't exactly know what for. Prince Alfred begged not to say anything more than he had murdered people.

His form of punishment wasn't particularly going to jail, because technically the royal family doesn't exactly go to jail. He could still be King, and he technically still lived in the palace. But until his death in the year 1910 that was stated in google, he'll be walking around the palace with handcuffs and two police guards around him all the time.

Maybe even more.

Speaking of him, as I was walking around the palace in my light blue sweater dress, I walked right passed him, with two police guards on his side. He stopped a little, glaring at me, but I smirked, "You've got seven more years. Live it up."

I walked away from him, completely satisfied with his punishment.

This is what bad guys deserve. They don't deserve to be respected even one bit.

I bumped into Robby on the way, smiling at him.

"Are you feeling better?" He asked.

I nodded, "Much. I guess time eases the sickness. We went through a lot that week."

"Correction. You went through most of it."

After a few minutes of looking at each other, I heard Prince Alfred from the side, "Just the two young fellows I wanted to see."

I smiled at him, slightly bowing my head. Robby asked, "Yes, Father?"

"The house of the city-state of Somerset will be getting cleaned out. It's not going to be knocked down at this particular moment because it is a historical landmark that should not be forgotten. As for the bodies..."

"The bodies," I said, cutting him off. "Don't do anything with the bodies. Please, leave them there."

"Any particular reason?"

I slightly shook my head, sighing, "I wanna be the one to take care of it. Please."

Prince Alfred sighed once, while Robby rubbed my head a little. Reaching out to his pockets, he grabbed a familiar piece of a blue cloth, handing it to me.

"This was the only piece of memory that was left back at the house," As I grabbed it, Prince Alfred continued, "I am certain that the owner wanted it to belong to you."

I held it tightly when I saw the name imprinted "Amelia". Prince Alfred nodded at us, walking away, which left Robby and I standing in the corridors alone. I leaned against the wall, then Robby started, "I suppose you now what to do when you arrive back to your home?"

I grinned a little, sighing, "Yeah. I need to free their spirits by getting their bodies out of my backyard. But about..."

It was hard for me to say the next sentence, so Robby asked out of curiosity, "About what?"

I closed my eyes, sighing, bringing myself to answer, "About bringing the house down from construction. I'd have to wait for the next time I see you. And our next time is our last."

After I said that, he looked down, placing his hands in his front pockets of his black pants. "The time has finally come."

He coughed a little, then continued, "The time of our last meeting."

I forced myself to smile, uttering a fake laugh, "Hey. Look on the bright side. You won't see this gumbly, argumentative, insane female anymore. Your life will be a lot quieter and calmer without me,"

He smiled, coming up to me, then saying, "But my life is not complete without the gumbly, argumentative, insane Madison Spencer Anderson."

I smiled as he grabbed my hand. He looked down a little, holding it tightly.

"Has there..." He started asking, "Has there ever been a moment... Where you considered staying with me?"

"Staying with you?" I asked, in confusion.

"Yes," He answered. "I mean, not going back to your home in the future."

I looked at him, frowning, not knowing what to say. One side of me said that I should stay with him, but the other side was saying that I can't waste my entire life in the future just for one guy.

I don't want to reject him.

I never thought about rejecting him.

But he was the best thing that has ever came into my life.

"I... I... Um... I... Ugh,"

He looked at me for a long period of time, but I couldn't talk after seeing his face.

What do I say to him?

I don't want to waste my life back in the future.

He is a part of my life.

I go back, come back once more, go back home again - and it's done.

I never see him again?

How was I going to live with myself?

Then that sound came again.

The sound of the wall.

My face lit up, holding onto Robby's pocket watch around my neck, then I let go of his grasp.

"I... I have to go."

He narrowed his eyes at me, as I walked away from him. I quickly walked out of the corridor, heading towards the library that was located on the basement, but he began following me.

Coming on the sides from me, he asked, "Maddy. The passage is calling for you?"

"Yeah." I replied, simply.

"Maddy, if you go, there will only be one page left in the journal."

I tried not to listen, running quickly down the stairs and he was still following.

I headed towards the wall, seeing the bright light shining through the lines. I smiled, heading towards it, but then Robby grabbed my wrists.

I groaned, turning around, "Robby,"

"I'm beginning to understand that you do not have the same feelings that I have for you,"

I widened my eyes at him, asking, "Why do you think that?"

"You are acting like you do not even care for me at all. As if I have no feelings. As if you are not aware that I am completely in love with you."

"It's not that, It's just..."

"What is it? I've offered to marry you and to take care of you, but you don't respond. I spill my heart out to you and you don't respond. I'm beginning to think that you do not care for me even one bit. All you want to do is go back home."

He didn't understand that I was the one who had to give up everything if I stayed.

He didn't understand how tortuous it is to keep my feelings all bottled up like this because I didn't want him to get hurt when we don't see each other again.

He didn't understand how I have a life.

He didn't understand anything.

"This isn't our last meeting, Robby."

"You leaving right now, and you leaving at our last meeting is not any different. I love you more and more by the day, and it pains me to see you leaving every time."

"Robby. I have a home," I stated, as the sound kept getting louder and louder. "I have two brothers who I get along with all the time. A Dad who raises me with so much love and care. I have friends that I have to get back to. I have a life."

To make him feel better, I went up to him, placing my right hand on his face, and I could feel the temperature of his face was so warm right now.

I rubbed it a little, smiling, "But I haven't chosen where I am staying yet."

He looked at me, so I continued, "I want you to look at it this way. You're a Duke. You have a job to do for the government, for the people of England. You live in the 20th century. Then look at me. I'm an 18 year old girl, who has four more years of college, and I lived in the 21st century. If I asked you, to give up your entire life to stay with me, would you do it?"

He stayed quiet, grabbing my hand that was on his face, and I actually saw tears coming out of his eyes.

"I don't want to leave here and have you thinking that I don't have those feelings for you. But the reason I've been keeping it away was because I don't want our last day together to be any more tortuous than it will already be. But since it can't any more painful than this..."

Tears actually slid down his face, so I wiped them off with my thumb.

My head started to ache, so I used my other hand to hold it. "Ow,"

He shifted up a little, worrying, so I chuckled. "I'm good."

Before I let go of him, I stood on my tiptoes, reaching up to him, and pressed my lips against his.

We kissed for a good thirty seconds before pulling away from each other, and my eyes began to water a little.

"This isn't our last," I said, cheerfully. "We're meeting again,"

He snickered, placing his forehead against mine, grabbing my face.

"I'll write soon,"

I smiled, "Yeah. I know."

We pulled away from each other, as he let go of me.

He held his hand out to me, for me to give him a hi five, and he smirked.

I smiled, clapping my hands with his.

Surprised he never forgot that ever since our first meeting.

I placed my hands on the wall, waving to Robby once more, then flipped back in a split second. I was back in my basement, with all the furniture scattered around. I looked at the clock which displayed 2:00 AM, so I began tiptoeing myself up the stairs.

As I opened the door, I saw a light turned on in the kitchen so I slowly went to see.

As I saw Scott at the refrigerator, he jumped, screaming, "Holy shit! Ghost!"

"Scott! It's me!"

He held on to the refrigerator, asking, "Spence?"

I nodded, looking down to see that I was wearing a long, old fashioned dress, but he should've gotten used to that by now.

"You're back!"

He placed his water at the table, coming up to give me a hug. I wrapped my hands around his waist, admiring that I had missed his hug so much.

After he pulled away, he gave me a disgusted look. "You look terrible. Your face is pale with a whole bunch of red marks on them. You look like you lost fifty pounds. What happened to you?"

I touched my face, not realizing how bad I looked, asking, "I look that bad?"

"Horrifying,"

"No wonder why you thought I was ghost."

"Actually. Ghosts look better than this. You look like a walking dead person."

I hit him in the stomach, groaning as he laughed.

"Marc, who..." I heard Dad, say as he came down the stairs. I turned around, revealing myself, and he exclaimed, "Maddy!"

"Dad..."

I smiled, as he ran up to hug me. Sam ran down the stairs as well, to give me a hug, and damn he has grown. He was up to chest now.

"You came back," Sam stated.

"Of course, I did. How can I not?"

"What happened to you?" Dad asked, looking down at my horrid self.

"It is an extremely long story. Short version is... I almost got killed by King Edward and couldn't save the servants. So tomorrow morning, we're gonna have to get to work."

They all stared at me in shock, then asked in unison, "Work?"

I nodded at all of them, crossing my arms.

Elizabeth, Valeria and Amelia.

You guys are gonna be free soon.

"You're saying that all these women are under this backyard?" Dad asked as we were stepping onto the grassy yard.

We had woken up in the morning, and I explained the entire story of what happened during first week going back there. The extra three weeks were spent getting King Edward punished, and being sweet with Robby.

"Yes," I replied, nodding. "The reason why their wandering around the house is because their spirits are trapped. Because they died here, and they've haunted every single person who has resided in this house."

"You go back there too often," Scott said, twisting a basketball in his hand.

"Why?" I asked.

He shrugged, "You're starting to talk complicated."

I rolled my eyes, continuing to talk to Dad, "Anyways. The reason they sent me back in time wasn't to prevent them from dying. They wanted me to go back there to understand what happened, get King Edward screwed for the vile things he did and then free their spirits out of here. Basically, this house used to be a rape factory to King Edward."

"So what about knocking the house down?" Sam asked, wanting to be a part of it.

I sighed, "That will have to wait."

"Yeah, cause I need to go buy a new house," Dad stated, in a jokingly sort of tone.

I shook my head, cutting in, "That's number one. Number two, there's one page left in Robby's diary so that means I have to go back one more time."

Scott expanded his "ah" a little, crossing his arms, "You haven't said goodbye to Dear Robert yet. I see."

I rolled my eyes, placing both hands on my hips. "So, after my last..."

Again, it was hard for me to say these words, but I brought myself up to say it, "My last... Visit.... There. The house will be able to be knocked down and all this chaos can be calmed down."

"Why do you say that with a stutter?" Sam asked, suspiciously.

I puckered my lips at him, messing up his hair, pushing him away.

"Yeah," Dad started. "I wanna know that too."

"It's nothing!" I exclaimed, awkwardly, scratching the back of my head. "We're just... good friends."

"Yeah, given your facial expressions, I don't believe that for one second." Dad said, with a disturbed look on his face.

I sighed, "I really don't wanna talk about my love life with you guys right now. Actually no, not right now. I don't wanna talk about my love life you guys any day. That's just awkward."

I tried walking away, but Scott stopped me by standing in front of me, coughing, "Ah ah ah. Not so fast, little sis. How serious is your relationship?"

"Love life?" Dad asked, coming to the side of me. Sam came to the other side of me, so they were all surrounding me. He continued, "You said love life. That means... You have a relationship with him?"

I clenched my teeth together, trying not to say anything, so Dad assumed, "You're quiet! That means you are having a relationship with him!"

"Dad. It's not a big deal."

"Whoa," Sam started. "My sister's dating someone from 110 years ago. Cool."

When the hell did he care about who I date?

"Will you guys calm down?"

"Have you guys, smooched?" Dad asked. I gave him a puzzled look, asking, "Did you just say smooched? Dad, you're old..."

"Dad asked you a question, Spence." Scott stated.

Ugh, they were all ganged up on me like I was a criminal of a murder case or something.

"If you want honest answers, yes..." I replied, then Dad's eyes widened. I pointed at him, exclaiming, "But !! It was only like... three times. You don't have to worry about him being perverted or vile, Dad. The guy's politer than an asian woman."

"You sound upset," Sam chuckled, looking up at me.

"Smart... Butt..." I mumbled.

"Are you sure, Maddy?" Dad asked.

"Dad... He's older than you. I'm sure he's fine."

They stayed quiet for a while, then I heard a familiar voice screaming from the side of the house, "Maddy! Maddy!" I turned around, seeing Amanda running up to me, so I walked passed my three guys, as Amanda ran up to me to give me a hug. I wrapped my arms around the middle of her back, hugging her so tightly because I've missed her too much.

We pulled away from each other, still holding onto each other's arms, then she started, "You look... horrid. Your face is as pale as ghost. Your eyes have bags in them. You have disgusting cuts on your face. Your hair is horrid. You look like you have been out of a puking session. What on bloody hell happened to you?"

I stared at her blankly, chuckling, "I was expecting more of... Umm, Maddy. I haven't seen you for one entire month, I've missed you terribly."

"That was gonna come next," She said, jokingly.

I laughed a little, then she grabbed my arms, "Well... What happened? Are you okay?"

"It's a long story... But right now... I need to go see Riley."

"Riley?"

"Yes, Riley."

"He's at home alone taking care of his dogs while his parents are on a trip to Italy. Why do you need to see him?"

"You remember Duke Richard?"

"Yes," She replied nodding.

Something clicked in her head and she clapped her hands, "Did you save him?!"

"I did," I replied. Then before she got any more excited, I continued, "But... He died again. King Edward killed him. So I need to see him, like now."

"Okay, I'm confused, what?"

"Let's just go," I concluded, grabbing her hand. I dragged her into the front yard, then screaming, "Dad! I'll be back in a bit! Don't do this digging up without me!"

"What digging up?" She asked.

We stood in front of her car, and she hurriedly got out her keys from her pockets, unlocking the door. I quickly got in the passenger seat, then she started the engine, then quickly backed out of the driveway.

I couldn't wait to see him at this moment.

--

After ringing the doorbell twice, there was no answer.

So I knocked in rage about five times.

Then finally, the door opened, revealing Riley standing behind it.

"Maddy?" He asked.

I smiled, seeing him, then sighing to myself.

Well, here's to risking again.

"I love Duke Robert..." I said, calmly.

He didn't reply, just staring at me with an extremely blank look at the moment. He asked, "What?"

I looked at Amanda, who was starting to come at the same level as me, so I turned back around, repeating, "I am in love... With Duke Robert."

He narrowed his eyes at me, repeating, "Who on bloody hell are you talking about?"

He's not changing!

The spirit's not possessing him!

He has no idea who I'm talking about.

I started jumping, shrieking at Amanda, as I exclaimed, "Yayyyyy!"

I turned to him once more, grabbing his middle arm, asking, "You're not mad when I mention this name? Duke Robert...?

I waited to see if there would be a reply, but he leaned against the door, saying, "I take it he's a Duke and I am also wondering if you went to the nuthouse for the month you were away."

Oh my god.

The spirit wasn't there anymore.

It was completely gone.

I did it.

I shrieked, "Eeeeeeeee!" Then jumped up to him, wrapping my arms around his neck, until he tumbled back into his house.

"Oh," I heard him groan.

He slightly placed his hands on my hips, as I pulled my face away, giving him a huge smooch on the cheeks.

He narrowed his lips at me, squinting his eyes and joked, "Oh. Please. Do not let my feelings of lust return to you."

I finally let go of him, wiping my mouth, smiling widely at him. Amanda patted my back, "You did it, girl."

He looked back and forth between us, crossing his arms, looking very puzzled. "Am I missing any memo? Did something happen during the month you were absent that I should be aware of?"

"Don't call me crazy. But... I really love you right now."

He still looked at me like I was insane, but I didn't care.

I had all the explaining in the world to do.

My Duke Richard has gone free now. Now he has ended up being one of my best friends.
