The Little Girl

It's been a good long time since I went to Alabama to see the graves of my dead parents. As soon as I got back I went over to Jason's house and talked about the tour and showed him some pictures I took on my phone. He was so excited to my 2 uncles bands which happened to be his favorite. We were haning out at his house and it was close to getting dark when I looked outside as it began to rain.

"I need to get home." I said and he nodded and we piled into his car. We drove down the road and it was raining even harder. We were stopped at a red light and when it turned green my whole world went black.

It was getting close to 11 at night and Rage still hasnt come home and she hasnt called. I was getting really worried about her.

"Brian dude calm your ass down. She'll be home in a few minutes. It's raining pretty hard outside. They probably had to pull over until it stops." Zacky said. As soon as he finished his sentence my phone began to ring. I picked it up without looking at the ID.

"Hello?" I said.

"Is this Brian Haner?"

"Yes ma'am. How may I help you?" I asked.

"Your daughter Rage was in a serious accident and you need to come down to Huntington Beach Emergency right away."

"I'll be there in 10 minutes." I said hanging up the phone.

"What's going on?" Jimmy said.

"Rage...Let's go." I said and they all piled into my SUV as I drove down to the hospital. We all ran into the building and I asked the woman at the front desk where my daughter was. She gave us her room number and we hurried to get there. I entered the room first and a doctor was in there.

"How is she doc?" I asked.

"She has 2 broken arms, left leg was shattered, 200 stitches in her face, and 4 broken ribs."

"What about the driver? Jason?" I asked again sitting down at her side.

"He didnt make it." I hung my head knowing how Rage would feel when she woke up.

"We're giving her something for the pain so she should wake up within the hour." I nodded and he left the room. I held her hand like I did before when she was here. The guys sat around facing her as they called they're girls. All the girls were here in a matter of minutes looking over Rage's body. The stitches went from her temple down to her chin in a C shape and from the bridge of her nose to her jaw line. Her left eye was bruised and swollen shut. Her arms were in casts and her leg was suspended up in the air by traction ropes. I sat there the whole night waiting for her to regain conscousness.

She hasnt woke up yet and I hope she did soon. The guys were all asleep while I stayed up and watched her. They all wanted me to go to sleep too but I didnt want her to wake up and me be fast asleep. My eyes became heavy and I couldnt hold my eyes open any longer. I let sleep take me.

I opened my eyes slowly but one wouldnt. I looked around and seen I was in the hospital. What happened to me? I turned my head to see dad sleeping right beside me.

"Dad?" I said nudging him with my elbow. He stirred but his eyes were still shut.

"Dad wake up!" I yelled and all the guys jumped up. He looked at me and kissd me cheek.

"Are you in any pain?"

"A little. What happened?" I asked looking at myself. I seen the casts on my arms and one leg. My face was hurting like hell and I knew one eye was swollen shut.

"You were in a car accident."

"Is Jason alright?" I asked in a panic.

"Rage...Honey..."

"Dad? Is Jason alright?" I said with tears welling into my eyes.

"Rage....Jason didnt make it." I shook my head.

"No...he cant be gone!" I almost yelled. Zacky sat down on the other side of me. I felt his hand rub slowly into my hair.

"I'm sorry Rage but Brian is right...Jason died." I looked at them both with tears spilling over and down my cheeks. Jason was my best friend....I leaned my head on Zacky and cried as he and dad held me tightly. I cried so much for so long that I cried myself to sleep.
