Girl On LSD

I held the tablets out to the group as we all sat on my mattress, I sat on Roger’s lap and Syd was sprawled out with Cheryl resting her head on his stomach. I had a really weird feeling about taking the LSD, it was just an uneasy feeling that something bad might happen. It was too late to back out now though, it was already down my throat before I could change my mind.

My eyes fell on the lava lamp Cheryl had plugged in earlier, “Hey man! Do you see the butterfly in the lava lamp?” I asked Roger, he looks up at it as do Cheryl and Syd.

“Yeah there it is!” Syd exclaims happily, Cheryl says so too. Roger doesn’t say a word, he just stares straight out the window. His greenish blue eyes were emotionless and glazed over, his bottom lip was quivering. I moved out of his lap to stare him; the colors swirled around me, highlighting his feature beautifully.

“Roggie are you okay?” I asked, my hands landing on his shoulder. Suddenly wraps his arms around me and he buries his face into my stomach.

“Don’t let them get me Nicole!” He mutters, Syd giggles.

“What’s her belly saying?” Syd asked, his fingers swirling through Cheryl’s hair as she stared up at the ceiling amused by something.

It was amazing how quickly I slipped out of my high when Roger’s nails begin to dig into my waist. I felt warm tears seep through my shirt as he began to sob, the next thing I know Syd and Cheryl were making out.

“Come on Roger.” I tell him, he stands up but stays close to me.

“They took him Nicole! They’ve taken him away!” He exclaims, he pulls away from me and runs down the stairs into my mom’s room. He locks the door, I was happy for the first time that my mom had left.
I was rarely alone, I was always either at Cheryl’s or she was over here. When she wasn’t Roger was, we didn’t do anything but make out and talk. I wasn’t ready for sex yet.

I look back towards my bedroom, slipping back into my high I laid back against the wall and watched as the bright yellow birds flew around the light.
