The Solemn Story Of Melody Quake
Chapter 2
Dear Diary,
Today was dreadful. Beth and Mother got into another argument about how she is never home with "the other children." We are not just "the other children." We are, or were, hers. Neither of them are home anyway, and neither is Father. It leaves Mayble, Alexandria and myself alone. And that is only when Alexandria decides to stay.
I love Mayble though. She looks so innocent when she is asleep. It is so easy to hide from her what life is truly like when away from the child-life. She is part of what the best is in this world.
Yesterday, Alexandria almost opened up. This is rare, for we don't walk up to someone and open our mouths, say "we need to talk" and then run off as she did. I am worried about her. Something seemed...off....
Anyway, yesterday J.D. and I went hiking. It was wonderful. J.D. kept swinging from branches and being foolish. It is so great to have a best friend. There's nothing I can't talk about.
Supper time.
