“John, why are you here?” Jayden asked John.

“I found out you were living in Chicago when I was watching the Blackhawks game and saw you on the bench. Ever since then I knew I needed to see you.”

“But why, you were the one who cheated on me with my best friend.”

“I know, I was a complete idiot and I have no right to try and get back in your life but I need you back in my life.”

“No you don’t. I am just a person, why would you need me? You can find another friend like me I am not special by any means.”

“That’s bullshit and you know it.”

“If I was special to you then you wouldn’t have thrown what we have away by fucking someone else.”

“We have?” John questioned.

“I meant what we had.”

“But you said we have.”

“That doesn’t mean anything.” Jayden defended herself.

“It means you still have feelings for me.” John said closing the gap.

“Well of course I still have feelings for you. I am always going to have feelings for you. You were my first love, and I can never change that, no matter how hard I try.”

“But what if you can stop trying?” John said taking yet another step closer.

“What do you mean?” Jayden asked starting to get confused.

“What happens if we start new?” John said as Jayden shook her head no which gave me hope. “Just hear me out Jay Jay.” He paused, waiting for her to stop him. “Jay Jay over the past four years we have grown up. God we haven’t even seen each other in four years, we each have changed. I know what I did was wrong right after I did it but I know even more what it must have been to go through and how much it must have hurt you. I can only imagine it being worse for me cheating with your best friend then if it was with someone you didn’t know. And for both of those things, I deeply apologize for it but I miss you. Every day I go home and wish that you were with me, just like the plans we had before everything happened. Please Jay Jay let me back in your life.” John finished and Jayden was about to reply but a knock interrupted what she was going to say.

Jayden went and opened the door and in walked Michelle. “Where’s my baby?” Michelle’s annoying voice came.

“In his room” Jayden said shortly which caused her to head my way.

“Hey babe” She said walking right into my room without knocking.

“Hey” I said trying to ignore her and listen to what Jayden had to say to John but she wouldn’t let me.

I was about to reply but a knock interrupted what she was going to say. I went and opened the door and in walked Michelle.

“Where’s my baby?” Michelle’s annoying voice came.

“In his room” I said shortly which caused her to go to Jon’s room and my heart sank a little bit.

“Jay Jay what were you going to say?” John asked pulling me out of my thoughts.

“I was going to say that” I paused for a second hearing a moan from Jon’s room. “that I think we should try us again. But if you cheat on me again I will castrate you myself with a dull blade.” I smiled slightly trying to cover up my sadness.

“Thank you Jay Jay! I love you so much” he said pulling me into a hug before kissing me. I want surprised by the kiss but I was still shocked but the shock was from the way his lips felt against mine. When we went out the first time his lips felt perfect against mine. We always were in sync when we were kissing but now it feels so different, it felt wrong. His lips were rough against mine, which was just off.

John continued to kiss me which turned into more of a make out session, so we decided to move it to the couch and I put the A-Team on. John continued to kiss me periodically but I was more into watching the movie then kissing him But I was saved when Hannibal from the movie said ‘I like it when a plan comes together’ at the beginning credits which made Jon and Michelle come out of his room.

“You’re watching the A-Team without me?” Jon asked faking hurt.

“I didn’t think you wanted to watch.” I said truthfully remembering the moan I heard not too long ago coming out of the room.

“I always want to watch the A-Team.” He answered as John kissed my neck, which caused Jon to get a constipated look on his face. “Are you two…” he didn’t finish.

“Yes we are.” John answered before I had the chance to answer.

“OMG! That is great! Now we can go on a double date!” Michelle obnoxiously yelled causing me to roll my eyes but only Jon could see.

“I like that idea! How about tonight?” John asked.

“Tonight?” Jon and I said at the same time.

A double date with Jayden and her boyfriend that cheated on her and my girlfriend who I can’t stand but don’t want to break up with now that Jayden has a boyfriend…

“That sounds awesome” I said sarcastically but only Jayden understood my sarcasm.

“Ok where should we go?” John asked me and Michelle replied with one of the most expensive restaurants in the city. But John agreed.

“Alright well I am going to go home and get ready. Jonny baby pick me up at 7?” I nod trying to get her to stop talking she was really starting to annoy me, and give me a headache.

“I’ll do the same” John said kissing Jayden before getting off the couch and walking to the door with Michelle.

“Jon, are you ready, yet?” Jayden yelled for me. We decided to meet John at the restaurant.

When Michelle and John left we finished watching the A-Team but we never said a word to each other. But that gave me some time to think, even though I hate Jayden is with John I am going to break things up with Michelle because I cannot stand her and she is just after my money.

“I am coming, I am coming.” I said leaving the room and immediately struck by how beautiful Jayden is again. She is just wearing a plain one shoulder blue dress . Her usual straight brown hair has been slightly curled. Her makeup is simply done, neutral tones that make her already blue eyes pop out even more. My favorite color is slowly changing from red to blue because of her. I must have been staring at her longer than I thought because she took me out of my thoughts.

“Jon is everything all right?” she asked flipping her hair over her shoulder.

“Everything is fine. You are gorgeous Jayje” I said giving her a nickname without thinking about it.

“Jayje?” she questioned with a small smile that made her eyes sparkle.

“Yeah, Jayje I like that name for you.”

“I like it too” she said leaning up and kissing me on the cheek, making me blush. “How about now we go and pick up our dates for the evening.” She said pulling me out of the house and I just groaned.

“You don’t want to go on the date do you?” Jayden said as we got into my car.

“No not at all.”

“Well that will make two of us then.” She smiled. “I only agreed so I didn’t have to go alone on a date with John.”

“Why don’t you want to go on a date with John by yourself?” I questioned wondering why she agreed to date him again if she didn’t want to.

“Well you see when I agreed to be his girlfriend again I was hoping to take it slow to start off. The way he treated me was horrible and our relationship can’t just pick up where we left off. That was four years ago we both have changed we both need re-know each other. But he seems like he doesn’t understand that instead he just jumped in to where we left off and I just can’t handle that relationship right now. I need to start new if this relationship is going to work. But enough about me why don’t you want to go?” Jayden said quickly.

“I don’t want to go because I can’t stand Michelle.”

“It didn’t sound like you couldn’t stand her earlier today” Jayden said which completely confused me.

“What do you mean?”

“Well when Michelle came in today and headed to your room a few minutes later I heard you moan the way you moaned a couple nights ago.” She said causing me to blush again because she heard me fuck Michelle.

“I didn’t have sex this morning I stubbed my toe trying to get away from Michelle without being too obvious that I didn’t want to have sex with her this morning so when I heard the A-Team come on it was the perfect excuse.” I said as we pulled into the restaurant parking lot.

“Oh” she said embarrassed.

“Yeah and tonight I am going to break up with her. I should never have got with her in the first place, I assumed something I heard the wrong way and got angry and took my anger out in sex and now I am stuck with Michelle.”

“What did you hear that you assumed wrong?” Jayden asked.

“I ov-“ I started to tell her the truth but was interrupted by a knock on the window of my car by none other than Michelle and John.

“You guys coming or what?” John asked causing Jayden and I to get out of the car. Every time Jayden and I would get close having a deep and meaningful conversation someone would interrupt us.

“Jonny” Michelle whined pulling me out of my thoughts.

“Yeah Michelle” I said a little sourly.

“I missed you” she said kissing me and when she pulled away I grimaced at Jayden who just smirked back at me. But a few seconds later it was my turn to smirk because John did the same thing to her.

“Jonny can I come back to your house tonight?” Michelle asked as dinner came to an end.

“Why don’t we go outside and talk.” I said instead of answering her question, as I got up from the table with the rest of the group and walked outside. Jayden pulled John away to give Michelle and I more privacy.

“What do you want to talk about?” she asked twirling her hair.

“This” I said pointing between her and I “isn’t going to work out”

“What? Why?” she asked completely surprised.

“Because you are not my type.” She just gave me a look. “I will never bring home a girl like you to my mother.” I said “It was a stupid mistake to ask you to be my girlfriend.”

“Fucking asshole.” She yelled before slapping me and stomping off. I didn’t care though at least she was out of my life forever. I walked back to the car and there was Jayden leaning against it with a smirk on her face.

“What” I smiled at her.

“I see you lost your extra appendage.”

My smile widened “Where is your extra appendage?” I questioned.

“Sent him home, I didn’t want to deal with him tonight.”

“Mhmm, or you just wanted to make sure that I really broke up with Michelle.” She smirked which tole me that I hit the nail on the head. “Here is my proof” I said getting closer so she could see the hand print that has formed on my cheek,

“Ooo, nice” she said leaning in so she could see better, I turned my head to look at her, and we just stood like that for a few moments until she spoke. “So are you going to unlock the car or are we just going to stand outside in the cold for the rest of the night?”

“Smart ass” I said leaning away from her and unlocking the car door.

A few weeks passed and Jayden was still dating John but she has become withdrawn and reserved which was starting to worry me, and the rest of the guys on the team.

So finally when there was one night that Jayden and I were home alone I decided that I would ask her about it. The problem was that I didn’t know how to ask without pissing her off. So I decided to cook her dinner.

I prepared the chicken and tapenade “en papillote” and put it in the oven to cook, and started to make the salad when Jayden walked into the kitchen with a bewildered look on her face.

“You’re cooking?” she asked me skeptically.

“Yes, I am” I smiled at her setting the table which is only done when my mom is in tow.

“Do you have a date tonight?” she asked still confused as to why I was cooking.

“No, it’s just me and you tonight” I said as the oven beeper went off.

“Are you cooking for me?”

“Yes” I said “This is an apology dinner, to say that I am sorry for being an ass when I first met you.” I said setting the food on the table.

“Have you poisoned the food?” she questioned.

“No” I defended myself. “Now sit down and be grateful I cooked you dinner” I said causing her to sit down and eat the food that I put on her plate.

“Mmm, this is orgasmic.” Jayden said after she took the first bite. “Man is there anything that you are not perfect at?”

“No, I am perfect at everything.”

“Cocky much?” she smiled at me but it wasn’t the full smile I have seen before.

“Not cocky, confident. Besides Mama Andre, taught me how to cook, so she knew I could take care of myself.”

“You have a brilliant Mother.”

“That I know.” I smiled as we continued to eat in a comfortable silence. When we were done I finally found the right time to ask her.

“Hey Jayje?” I said as we started to clear the table.

“Yeah Jonny?”

‘You don’t have to answer this if you don’t want to, but lately you haven’t seemed like yourself, and it has been worrying me. So I was wondering if everything is alright with you and John?” she stopped what she was doing and turned to me and looked me in the eyes. I say different emotions going through her eyes, sadness, uneasiness, worry, but most of all I saw fear.

“Jon” she mumbled before completely breaking down. I quickly stepped forward and caught her before she hit the ground and held her against my chest.

“Shhh, Jayje” I hummed while rocking her back and forth as she continued to cry. She started to slow down, so I pulled away a little bit. “Hey why don’t you get changed into something more comfortable.” She nodded but didn’t make an effort to move. So I dragged her into my room and gave her a pair of my sweat pants and a t-shirt. She finally got with the program and went in the bathroom to change. A few minutes later she emerged.

I opened my arms inviting her in for a hug, which she gladly accepted and started to cry again. I stayed there, and just hummed for a long time. She ended up falling asleep against me.

I lifted her up and moved her to my bed. I was about to leave and sleep on the couch when she grabbed my arm.

“Stay.” She mumbled. I quickly stripped down into my boxers and climbed into the bed pulling Jayden against me, as she cried herself back to sleep.

What could make her feel so afraid and cry so much? Her brothers told me that she never cries but yet she just cried for three hours straight. I need to get to the bottom of this; I can’t see her hurting like this.

I woke up before my alarm and left for practice leaving Jayden in my room. I called her assistant on the way in telling him that she was sick, and I left a note for her.

I know last night I said we didn’t need to talk about it, but after what happened we really need to talk. I care about you too much to see you like that. We will talk when I get back from practice. I called you in sick, because I thought you would need a day.

When practice was finished I rushed straight home, but when I got there the door was a jar and I heard crashing coming from within.
