Until the End

I Hate Bed Rest

The next day Yesenia woke up with a major headache it was just as bad as yesterday and when she told her father; he sighed letting her stay for the day. “You know you are going to have to make up whatever you missed today” he lectured. Alba sat right next to her sister “Can I stay home and look after her?”

Alan gave her youngest daughter a look “No”

Alba’s face deflated feeling horrible that Yesenia was going to stay here all alone during the day with no help. Yesenia felt that energy coming from her sister as she placed a hand on top of hers “I’ll be fine” before muttering things in Spanish to her twin telling her to not let Jackson get her down today.

Alba blushed hearing Jackson’s name in the mix; it was hard enough to hide the pain when she knew that Jackson went bowling with Lydia, Allison and Scott. Nodding her head she gave her sister a quick hug before walking out of the room ignoring her father’s stare wondering what that was all about.

Grabbing the car keys she drove to school in record time; to the younger twin it felt weird not having Yesenia here with her. It was like an empty space right beside her where Yesenia always walked by her.

The day went as regular routine as she talked to her friends among classes and told the people that questioned her twin’s absence about she wasn’t feeling well. Also the rumor of Yesenia being anorexic did take off like wildfire just like she thought it would. Hearing the murmurs in the hall was too much for Alba and couldn’t imagine what Yesenia was going to get when she got back.

Some people did mistake her as Yesenia when they made remarks about her figure saying she was too skinny or if she was going to eat twigs for lunch. It hurt her feelings just hearing it even if it wasn’t directed towards her.

Towards the end of the day, Alba walked to her locker to gather all of the books that she would need for the day, the dark haired girl was thankful that she didn’t have a sixth period. After taking out her books her dark eyes glanced to the side of her when she heard something being banged against the lockers.

Alba scanned the area in wonder, closing her locker she picked up her bag as she walked around the corner to see Jackson grabbing the back of his neck before staring at it. “Jackson?” when he heard his name he immediately covered his hand as his light green eyes looked at Alba.

“Are you okay?” she asked inching closer to the younger boy.

“I’m fine” he stepped back.

Alba wasn’t as closed off as her sister so she portrayed emotions a lot more; seeing the hurt etched on the girl’s face made Jackson sigh. “Look I’m sorry. I’ve had a rough night”

“Sorry to hear about that. If you ever want to talk you know where to find me” she gave him a friendly smile before walking the other way as the bell rang. Her heart was pounding the instant she saw Jackson, breathing in and out to calm her heart she almost bumped into Stiles.

“Sorry” she said sheepishly.

“Al, where have you been? I didn’t see you at lunch”

Alba shifted her weight to her other foot as she shifted her books to her other hand “I was just…around. Ya know, with Yesenia not being here and all”

Stiles gave her a look “Why isn’t Sen here?”

“Headache. She’s been getting these huge headaches lately but it’s probably nothing big” she trailed off as she glanced at her watch “I better go. I need to check on Sen” waving good bye she dashed to her car.

Just when she looked up she saw Jackson walking to his car with Lydia in tow; a huge lump was stuck in her throat at the sight. Shaking her head she climbed into her car backing out of the parking space and halted when there was a huge line forming ahead of her.

Alba questioned the constant honks ahead of her and behind her, getting out of the car she saw a man being hauled to the car with the help of Scott. Walking closer to Stiles’ vehicle she was just about to ask what was going on when Stiles took off.

Her dark eyes met Scott’s and she could see that he didn’t want to talk about it so she turned around almost bumping into Jackson in the process. “Excuse me” she said shyly as she went around him walking to her car. She almost stiffened seeing Lydia’s gaze on her but gave her a wave which she happily gave back to the twin.

That was a relief.

Yesenia groaned as she flipped over on her bed completely bored out of her mind at this point. What was the purpose of missing school when she couldn’t do shit? It aggravated her that she can’t even go outside without her head pounding.

The headache itself was driving her insane, she wanted to do something, anything just so she can get out of bed. The whole morning she lay in bed staring at the wall thinking of random things that she would do once she got back to school. Yesenia wanted to talk to Scott it was weird how he was acting not only around her but around everyone else except Stiles.

Pursing her lips she snatched a few clothes from her closet and put them on seeing how it was a little chilly outside. Yesenia wore all black, jeans, blouse, jacket and riding boots to accessorize. She then put on the silver cross that her mother gave her just before she left Chicago.

Feeling slightly dizzy she leaned on the wall as she closed her eyes for a second before she composed herself. Taking it step by step she walked down the stairs and into the kitchen where she got something to eat before she wandered out to the woods today. No one should give her crap since it was the middle of the day and she wasn’t quite feeling well but she rather be roaming around than on bed rest.

That was one thing that her father did not know about her. She could be restless when told to take it easy; Yesenia did not know the meaning and did not exist in her vocabulary when it pertained to her.

Walking outside on the semi cloudy day she scanned the area around her admiring the trees and leaves that were scattered all over the ground. It was simply beautiful how many colors of the leaves that laid on the ground. The fresh smell of rain and soil hit her nose as the birds softly chirped as she walked.

The serene feeling that she had with her was something that she hasn’t felt in such a long time. It felt like home. Closing her eyes she relished in the forest knowing that once she got home she would have to take it easy once again.

Yesenia then realized that she wanted to pay a visit to Luna since she hasn’t seen her in a few days because of how other things have gone in her life she hasn’t been going to work. She only knew that she would be able to see Luna after hours when everyone was asleep and it wasn’t that hard to sneak out of the house.

Yesenia started to hum a song under her breath as she felt something behind her, the same sickening feeling that she always got since that night. It was like someone was watching her every move. What was it with people stalking her in the woods?

The Spanish girl quickly spun around to see what was there but it turned to absolutely nothing. Humming to herself she turned back around and started to walk with a cautious eye just in case something did happen. The teen knew that she had to be home at a specific time or Alba would flip shit just because she was out of bed.

When it was nearing the time Alba would get out of school she started to walk towards her house with slight difficulty. As she finally made it and walked into her room she heard the front door opening hearing her twin’s voice “Sen? Are you here?”

Yesenia popped her head out “I’m in here”

Alba stared at Yesenia before eying her up and down “Why are you dressed?”

“Because I didn’t want to feel like a bum, that’s why”

Alba left it at that as she pursed her lips; Yesenia gave her twin a look before asking if she was alright. The younger twin shook her head saying that there was nothing to worry about as she entered her room. She knew that was complete bullshit but left it as is since Alba respected her space.

As time started to pass, her father came home checking up on his daughters. First he checked on Yesenia checking her temperature and asked if her headache has progressed. “I feel a lot better after the tons of sleep that I had” she just wanted him to feel like all she needed was some sleep and she was good to go.

Alan just nodded as his dark eyes looked at hers “You shouldn’t push yourself too hard, it causes headaches and fevers which we wouldn’t want you to get, do we?” his kind nature was making her sick as she stiffly nodded. “Get some sleep. You have school tomorrow”

Yesenia groaned but was slightly happy that she was able to go because staying in this house all alone was too depressing. She needed something to do. Closing her bedroom door she waited until everyone was asleep, in the mean time she just went online and did some research on Belgian Shepherd Dogs and how to take care of them.

As the night progressed and she knew that everyone was asleep as she checked the halls she closed her door before walking over to her window. Opening it up, she saw the small pipe that crawled down her house; it was the only way she would be able to get out of her room.

Being the dare devil that she was, she climbed out of her window and bit her lip as her hands touched the cold metal as she slid down the pole. Her feet screamed out in pain at the loud impact that she had but then her twisted mind couldn’t help but have her feel like a stripper as she still held onto the pole.

Yesenia looked at her options as to how to get to the animal hospital; she could take the car but her father might see the headlights as she backs out of the drive way. She could walk but that was such a long distance even for her.

Clicking her tongue she realized that her father bought her a bike when she first arrived her thinking that it would somehow make amends with her since he found out that she loved to ride her bike in the mountains. He was an idiot to think that it would make her forgive him for taking her away from her mother.

Grabbing the bike that was in the garage, thankfully she could squeeze it through the door into of the garage door that would make too much noise. Breathing in, she fixed her bandage on her head that she had since last night, making sure that there was no blood seeping through before taking off.

It has been way too long since she rode a bike and within record time she arrived at the hospital and took the keys out and unlocked the door before locking it back up again once she entered.

Yesenia was excited as she walked towards the recovery room and when she turned on the lights she saw Luna’s cage in the corner. “Luna” she said in a sweet voice and the black dog immediately perked up as she lifted up her head. Luna wagged her tail and whimpered in happiness as she watched Yesenia walk closer to her.

Unlocking the cage she ignored the other dogs that were mostly sleeping as she pulled most of her body out as patted her tight knotted fur down. Yesenia laughed as Luna licked her face in joy “I miss you too; girl and I see that Scott nor my dad comb your fur”

She was disappointed that she was the only one that actually took care of Luna but then again she wouldn’t have it any other way. Suddenly she saw Luna’s ears twitch, “What’s the matter girl?” she asked. Luna started to growl lowly in her throat as her eyes were set on the door.

Yesenia wanted to see what was going on that made Luna set off, opening the door she walked down the hall to see that the surgery room was filled with light. Who was here? No one had the key except for her and her father. Maybe her father was here? That would be impossible since he went to bed not too long ago.

So many thoughts were running through her mind and then she heard a voice “Positivity isn’t in your vocabulary, is it?” Was that Stiles? As she walked closer to the room she walked in to see Derek half naked wrapping a band around his arm where her eyes moved lower to see some type of wound.

She gasped which frightened Stiles as he spun around “Sen? W-What are you doing here?”

Yesenia narrowed her eyes before crossing her arms “Funny, I could ask you the same thing.”

“Sen, I can explain-”

“Really? Because from what I see there are two guys in an animal hospital and one of those guys seems to be hurt while the other one is standing there like an idiot” Yesenia glared at the two of them “Explain

Stiles glanced back at Derek before running his hands down his face, “Well, you see…maybe you should pretend that you never saw us and we will leave everything where you left the-” he paused when he saw the twin stepping closer until she was mere inches away from his face.

“Don’t you dare tell me what to do ever again”

Stiles let out a nervous laugh before muttering “Great, now I have two people here that I am afraid of in the same room. Freaking fantastic”

Derek glared at Stiles before he turned to Yesenia “I don’t think you should be here”

Yesenia glanced at the man as she scoffed “I don’t think you are in any condition to tell me what to do…is that a power saw in your hand? What were you going to do with a power saw?” her mind was filled with wonder as to what he was planning on doing with something that dangerous.

Yesenia waited patiently hoping that they would at least humor her with their answer because of right now she wanted to kick their asses for infiltrating her father’s office in the middle of the night. Everything about them was too suspicious for her to let go and she was going to find out what was going on.
