Until the End

Insanity

Darkness.

She was in complete and utter darkness. Yesenia looked around as much as she could, but to no avail. How can she see when she couldn't even see the outline of her hand? "Where am I?" she muttered to herself.

It brought her great confusion as to where she was. Taking a cautious step forward, she pressed her heel onto the ground to make sure it was safe to step on. After seeing that it was safe, she took another step doing the exact same thing. Yesenia wasn't so fond of darkness, anyone sane wouldn't be so fond of the unknown.

What happened that made her end up here?

That's right. Memories started to flash through her mind, first she arrived at her father's clinic, then she spotted Stiles and Derek with a power saw ready to amputate his own arm...Derek collapsed and she performed CPR and Scott arrived with some kind of bullet that magically healed Derek's wound.

Now she sounded insane.

Maybe it was just all a dream, she reasoned. There was no way a bullet can heal a gun shot wound; it didn't make sense. The way his skin recovered so quickly...it was almost magical, mythical, unreal. Yesenia continued to ponder in her thoughts before she heard a howl in the darkness.

She gasped, feeling the fear seep into her skin, the howl sent shivers down her spine as she frantically looked around. There was something out there. She didn't know what it was, but whatever or whoever, yearned for her in a way she couldn't explain.

Floods of emotions swept through her like wildfire, holding onto her stomach she bent forward not knowing how to handle any of this. "What's going on?" she groaned. Another howl ripped through the air. Yesenia moaned in pain as a burning sensation tore through her right side of her stomach.

Grunting, she froze when she felt a breeze hit the top of her head. Strands of hair moved out of her face as the foul stench hit her nostrils. She almost gagged in response, but whatever was in front of her sounded huge.

As she lifted her head up slowly, Yesenia's dark brown eyes widened in fear as she saw blood red orbs staring right back at her. In her fear, she couldn't scream, couldn't utter a sound, gaping like a fish seeing the sharp fangs of the creature that stood before her. The large body that was hunched over stood tall, towering over her so easily, intimidating her within seconds.

Yesenia didn't know what to do.

What was this thing?

It snarled at her as she cowered back, what shocked her the most was that she saw the creature's lips curl up into a smile. A sinister smile, like it was human. What the hell? And before she knew it, claws ripped through her flesh like jello and a horrific scream came out of her throat.

Yesenia gasped as she sat up abruptly, panting she felt her forehead covered in sweat as she frantically looked around her room to see if that creature was anywhere around here. The more she looked, the more she realized she was in her room.

How did she get here?

Must have been the boys doing, she grimly thought. Oh, wait until I get my hands on them, they are going to pay. She was pissed and scared out of her mind. What was that dream about? Holding onto her head gently, she shook her head. It has been happening for the last few nights now and each time, the images are getting more vivid.

Yesenia wiped the sweat from her forehead in disgust now feeling her clothes were soaked in her sweat. As she got out of bed, she hissed in pain feeling a throbbing sensation on her right side, lightly touching her ribcage, she felt it was slightly tender.

"Great. Just what I need." she grumbled.

There was no time for her to be injured, not when she had majorette practice after school and her head was throbbing on top of it. Rubbing her head, she felt a slight bump. What is with getting injured nowadays? Hopping into the shower and quickly getting rid of the stench that was on her skin, she felt more refreshed as she got ready for the day.

As she quickly put on a pair of black jeans, boots, tight black v-neck shirt, along with a blue military style jacket on, she was ready to go. Walking out of her room, she halted when she saw her twin standing in the hallway with a dazed look on her face.

Yesenia frowned as she walked over to her sister, tapping her shoulder, not ready for the panic reaction she received. Alba jumped as a squeal left her lips, "Al? Are you okay?" Alba laughed nervously as her eyes avoided her sister's, "Y-Yeah. Everything is fine. Just ya know, with everything is going on here and yeah...ready to go?" she stumbled.

Yesenia gave her twin a strange look as she agreed that she was ready to go; as they hopped into the car, she didn't realize there were balloons in the backseat. "Who's that for?" pointing to the balloons in the back.

"Allison. It's her birthday today. Lydia told me it was her birthday and I thought it would be nice to decorate her locker."

The older twin tapped her fingers on the steering wheel, "Is Allison aware that you know her birthday?" When Alba sheepishly smiled, Yesenia shook her head, "Just don't go over the top with it, okay?" that's all the advice she was going to give her sister. There was no point of stopping from her decorating Allison's locker because she-devil herself would do it herself if Alba didn't do it.

Once they arrived at the school, Yesenia went her separate ways from Alba when she saw the devil herself walking towards them. "Yessie! Where are you going?"

"I need to take care of some things before school starts." she informed the two as she continued walking, "Need to find those bastards." she mumbled. Yesenia made it her top priority to find Stiles and Scott. There was no way in hell she was going to let this slip. Not only because she feels like everything that happened was a figment of her imagination, but the mere fact they were at the clinic at such an ungodly hour made her curious.

It rubbed her the wrong way and something tells her that they are hiding something big. Something huge and she needed to know because it might involve her somehow. As she wandered the halls to find the two, she spotted Allison frantically trying to put the balloons back in her locker.

Yesenia couldn't help but laugh at the sight. She knew that Allison wasn't the celebrating type, she liked to keep a low profile and the balloons and cards was something she wouldn't like either. Then Scott appeared.

This was her chance.

It was better than she expected. If she could get at least one of them by themselves, they can be more likely to spill whatever they are hiding. Scott is a little more secretive and it would be easier to get it out of Stiles because of his fear of her, but Scott will do. As she walked closer to the teen she was blocked and her back hit the wall.

A painful groan left her lips, "What the fuck?" she pushed the body out of the way to see that it was none other than bitch of the year, Maggie Rodriguez. For some reason, the girl doesn't relent on pestering Yesenia. For the life of her, she doesn't know why. She thought she cleared it up that when she made out with the girl she was drunk off her ass and it didn't mean anything.

Clearly, it meant something for her.

"What do you want Rodriguez?" she grumbled.

The brunette flicked her back from her neck, "You didn't call me last night."

Yesenia raised a plucked brow, "Since when did I say I would call you?" Maggie crossed her arms as she reasoned, "A few days ago. Don't you remember? In physics class..." waving her arms around like it was suppose to jog her memory.

The teen pretended to ponder, shaking her head, "Nope. Don't remember. I need to go, I have more important things to do than deal with your stupid crush on me." waving off the younger teen as she walked off. Maggie trailed behind Yesenia in a huff, "Yesenia." she called out to her, "Yesenia."

She didn't have time for this shit. What would it take to get her off her back? Maybe introduce her to a lesbian that wants her? Just because she kissed a girl, she's in love and all that crap.

What is this girl on?

As Maggie continued to pester her, her blood started to boil. When she turned the corner to see if Scott was still there, she deflated seeing no one was there anymore. Not even Allison. A growl left her lips as she turned swiftly making Maggie take a few surprise steps back, "I'll see you in physics, okay?"

There was no reason to get mad at this idiotic girl. No time for that. When Maggie saw the 'glimmer' of hope, she agreed as she finally left the poor girl alone. Now that Yesenia can breathe, she spun around once more to find the next best thing. Stiles.

A few classes went by as Yesenia daydreamed about the creature that was in her dream; what was that thing. The way it was on all fours when it was breathing down on her was odd, from what she could see, it had fur, so it could be some type of animal. Maybe a bear? From the large mass, it could possibly be a bear. There was no way it could be a mountain lion or a wolf...

The thing that threw her off was the smile. It looked...human. There was something sinister and evil behind that smile even though it was just a dream, it felt so real. It scared Yesenia to the core wondering if her dream was actually real.

Of course not. It's impossible. she reasoned.

Then why doesn't she believe herself?

Frustrated, she walked down the hall to her next class when she saw Stiles on the phone, narrowing her eyes, she stormed over to him, having all those emotions boil over once again. When he hung up the phone, her hand snatched the back of his collar and dragged him to an isolated place in the school.

"H-Hey what the-oh hey Sen! How's it going? Feeling better? Heard you had the flu last night." Stiles fumbled as he cleared his throat as the girl glared at him.

"Cut the crap Stiles. I remember everything, even Derek knocking me out." she crossed her arms, "and what I want to know is what happened last night? I know you know what is going on and you are going to tell me right now or I will personally maim you, limb to limb."

"Now Sen, I get that you are upset-" a dry laugh left her lips as she pulled on her hair, "Upset? I am more than upset. I am fucking pissed because I walked in on something I know I should be aware of and now that I do know, that's all I think about. Weird things have been happening since Allison arrived and I want to know why. Why Stiles?"

"I can't tell you."

Yesenia growled as she grabbed onto the front of his shirt and shook him a bit, "You do not want to piss me off even further. There is a reason why I moved here from Chicago and it wasn't because my father wanted us."

Stiles gulped seeing the murderous look in her eye, "Sen, I wish I could tell you-" he was cut off with a slap. Yesenia huffed as she shook her head, "No Stiles. It's not that you can't, it's that you don't want to...I thought we were closer than this and whatever you and Scott are going through. I hope to God you know what you are dealing with." the girl couldn't deal with this anymore, turning swiftly around, she headed to her next class, feeling more frustrated than she did this morning.

So much for trying to find out the truth.

By the end of the day, Yesenia decided to skip majorette practice and told Maggie to tell their coach that she wasn't feeling well. Maggie gave her a sympathetic look as she wished for her to get better. When she arrived at her father's clinic she went straight to work, taking care of the dogs that needed to be fed and tended to the dogs in the recovery unit.

While she was giving her attention to Luna, she heard a few voices at the end of the hall. Yesenia picked herself off the floor, as she muttered for the black dog to stay put when she heard her whimper.

When she entered the room she saw Sheriff Stilinski chatting with her father, "-flattered that you come for me for help, but like I said I'm no expert."

"But you were pretty certain the other day that the attacker was a mountain lion." the way he said it was like he didn't believe the assumption that her father made previously. Yesenia remembered the picture the sheriff showed her father a few days prior and she wasn't familiar with attack markings, but it didn't look like a mountain lion would have done it.

"From security cameras that they had at the video store, we got a few frames of our mountain lion." Yesenia peeked from the doorway as she quietly inched closer to take a closer look as she heard her father say, "Interesting."

"Yesenia, why don't you go back to work?" Seth advised without looking back.

Yesenia pursed her lips as she saw the sheriff glance back at her holding the last picture in his hands. It made her curious as to what they had captured from the attack yesterday, for some reason she felt like she could help in some way.

Instead of fighting back, she felt the same emotions she did last night run through her for a quick second as she said, "Okay." quickly walking out of the room she sat down next to Luna once again trying to regain her heartbeat. Pressing her face into the dog's fur, she tried to take slow and even breaths to regain her steady heartbeat.

Despite not seeing the pictures, she felt some sort of connection with whatever was on them. It could be a picture of a goat for all she knew. This could be it. Yesenia was going insane. That had to be it. There was no other explanation for this. She belong in a ward for thinking and dreaming of things that do not exist because for a split second, she believes it.

"Yesenia." she picked her head up to see her father standing near the doorway. He suddenly starts to worry seeing the tears in her eyes, "Yesenia? What's wrong?"

"Nothing." she cleared her throat, "Has Scott come in yet?" quickly changing the subject. Seth pursed his lips, clearly not over seeing his daughter cry for no apparent reason, but he answered, "No. I called him several times and no answer. Should I prepare for the worst for the parent/teacher conference?"

"Yeah...I think you should." she mumbled.

I think I should too.
