Star Crossed to Death

1943

I watched the water lap the side of the boat, everything seemed so careless and free and yet I stood here trapped among my family and its riches.

"Darling! look at how New York shines with the sun just setting like that"

My eyes raised with bored yawn but they missed the gleam of the silver city and landed on a man standing In the shadows watching me. I stood with a urgent need to know this man but as I stood he gave a silent nod and made his exit.

"Charlie take a seat" I muttered something about using the bathroom and ventured to find a ghost.

I should have stayed there and maybe I would have married an old man named Wilbur who gave me 5 kids, and maybe love is better when your angry.
