Forever Hold My Heart

“What is it?” Adam asked and Mathew handed him the box.
“How did they even get your phone,” Julian asked
“I don’t know the last time I remember seeing it was at the Masquerade.” I said
“Do you think a reporter picked it up?” Travis said
“It’s definitely a possibility.” Mathew said
“There's no other way I mean it could have been anybody at the masquerade.” Travis said
“Well then we’ll just have to keep a lookout on what website or show posts up these pictures.” Mathew said
“What if it was a Latronum?” I asked and it was quiet
“Did you drop your phone in the forest?” Adam asked
“That’s not possible, I mean if it was I don’t think they would have returned your phone, let alone write you a note that says thank you.” Jack said
“That’s true,” Mathew said
“You think it could be the same person who gave Katelyn the dress,” Julian said
“That’s definitely a possibility,” Travis said
“Secret admirer?” Landon asked
“No, this would be a stalker case,” I said
“I think that would be over the top thinking,” Mathew said
“The only stalker she would have are underage fan boys,” Adam said with a smile
“Shut up, “ I said
“Alright, alright,” Mathew said “We’ll put this to rest for now. The reason why I am here is to tell you guys that everyone is going to be on guard at a royals house.”
“Which one?” Travis asked
“The one closest to the forest, I want you guys to be as prepared as possible. We will stop at the camp and pick up some supplies. I want you guys to be dressed in comfortable clothing. Once at the camp I will go more into detail about everything.” Mathew said
We started to head up stairs. I started to feel sick but I just brushed it off my shoulders. I didn’t know how serious this mission was but from what Mathews said so far it does sound pretty serious. When we got to our rooms I pulled out some clothes.
I got dressed a lot slower than the guys. I actually sat down when I was putting my boots on. I lightly patted my forehead and I could feel sweat, even as I was tying my shoes, my hands were shaking.
“Knock, knock,” Julian said as he entered the room. “You almost ready?”
“Yeah,” I said and Julian sat down on the floor next to me.
“Are you okay,” Julian said putting his hand on my back.
“Define okay,” I said running my hand through my hair.
“I’m sorry about everything,” Julian said and a tear fell down my cheek. I felt Julian awkwardly pat my back.
“I’m sorry, I just,” I started
“Don’t’ be sorry you’re the last person that should be sorry,” Julian said and rubbed my eyes to get rid of any other tears. “I’m ready when you are.”
“Okay, lets go,” I said as he helped me up.

Once we got to the camp, Mathew took us into the room where everything was kept. All of the weapons from training were kept here, but more towards the back was where all the newer stuff was kept. I was satisfied with my gun and a switch blade.
“Listen closely because this is really important and this is going to be your highest rank assignment yet. Now that you guys have your weapons I am going to pair everybody up. Julian and Adam group 1; Landon and Travis group 2; Katelyn, Devin, and Jack group 3; Marcus and I will make group 4.” Mathew said making eye contact with each and everyone of us. “Once we get to the house we will search the area just within the gates. On my command we will then head on out towards the forest. Our goal is to see if there are any Latronis Animae trying to get to close. If you are to come across one try your very best not to get shot or let them inflict any type of open wound. We are not trying to go too deep into the forest so just keep that in mind. Any questions?"
We all looked at each other but said nothing.
“Alright then let’s go,” Mathew said

When we arrived at the house it didn’t make much sense to me that Mathew had to park as close to the house as possible. It only meant that we had to walk that much more farther to reach the area closest to the wall. Even after we got out of the car not a word was said. We got into our groups and headed out. As my group jogged towards the gate I began to feel a pain in my lower stomach but i didn’t let that stop me. We ran in a certain area for a while occasionally stopping and just listening but we weren't getting anything. Devin gave us the signal to stop.
“Mathew says he heard some movement so keep your guard up.” Devin said as we jumped over the fence.
I felt extremely anxious and it didn’t help that I was having trouble concentrating. As if that wasn’t bad enough I think I had a fever, but whatever it was it definitely had an affect on me. We headed in occasionally stopping and listening. We had stopped when suddenly we heard shots being fired.
We each got behind a tree, my breathing suddenly became very uneven. I looked at Devin and he gave us the sign to be still. I slowly reached for my gun, I didn’t know how close the Latronums were. We heard more shots in the distance, and Devin gave us the signal to pull back. Devin and Jack started to run, I was just about to run after when suddenly my stomach decided that now would be the perfect opportunity to empty itself out. I fell to my knees praying that I wasn’t bringing too much attention to myself. I felt two arms pick me up, I looked to see it was Devin, he quickly threw me over his shoulder. When shortly after we were both on the floor, I had dropped my gun. I looked and could see a figure making its way towards us. I reached into my boot and pulled out my switch blade. I stood up in between Devin and the figure, Devin wasn’t getting up, and I had no clue where Jack had gone.
I quickly kept glancing down to see if I could see my gun or even Devin’s but I had no luck.
“I didn’t come here looking for trouble.” The figure was a girl, a young girl. “I only wanted to bring you this, I thought since its your job you could get rid of some pest for me.”
The girl dropped a book close to my feet.
“What are you talking about,” I asked
“It’s in the book,” She said and she brought her hand to her mouth and let out a wolf whistle, within seconds she was gone.
“Katelyn!” I heard Jack call, “Where are you?”
“We’re over here,” I yelled and I could hear him getting closer.
I got on my knees and got close to Devin. I slowly lifted his head and I could feel a warm liquid. The fall had caused Devin to hit his head on a rock. I could feel my whole body shaking.
“Jack hurry,” I called out panicked. Once Jack was in my sight I quickly explained what happen. “He hit his head really hard and now he’s bleeding out take him back. I’ll catch up.”
“But” He started
“Go!” I yelled and he picked up Devin and disappeared. I picked up the book, and frantically searched for my gun. There were more gunshots fired and that’s when I made the decision to leave it behind. I was just about to reach the wall when I felt a sharp pinch shoot across my arm. I clenched my teeth as I jumped over the wall and ran towards to the house. Halfway there I reached Mathew and Travis. I opened my mouth to say something but I then hunched over and threw up again. I wiped my mouth with the back of my hand.
“Did Jack and Devin come back?” I asked
“Yes they’re inside the house,” Mathew said
“Let’s go head on in,” Travis said.as he reached out to grab my arm.”What the hell, Katelyn you’ve been hit.”
“Is she bleeding alot,” Mathew asked
“No, its a dart.” Travis said
“Come on Katelyn we’re going to pull out a blood sample to see if you’ve been poisoned or if they’ve injected you with the-” Mathew started and I could feel my world going fuzzy as I felt the floor coming towards my face.
