It Will Rain

If you ever leave me baby,
Leave some morphine at my door
‘Cause it would take a whole lot of medication
To realize what we used to have,
We don’t have it anymore.

The time has come for Rowan to make a choice: to either continue chasing her own dreams or follow Andrew to his.

There’s no religion that could save me
No matter how long my knees are on the floor
So keep in mind all the sacrifices I’m makin’
Will keep you by my side
Will keep you from walkin’ out the door.

Of course, she did only have one semester left. Andrew hadn't offically declared whether he would go to the draft or stay for his senior season. He would finish his degree either way. But what would Rowan do? She could always use her final semester to for an internship with ESPN, right?

Cause there’ll be no sunlight
If I lose you, baby
There’ll be no clear skies
If I lose you, baby
Just like the clouds
My eyes will do the same, if you walk away
Everyday it will rain, rain, rain...

Would he leave her after graduation? So that he could start his new life as an NFL quarterback without any attachments. Would she blame him if he did? Would she fall apart? Would she be able to move on?

I’ll never be your mother’s favorite
Your daddy can’t even look me in the eye
Oooh if I was in their shoes, I’d be doing the same thing
Sayin there goes my little girl
Walkin’ with that troublesome guy

What would happen if he took her with him? Wherever he ended up? What would her parents say about it? Would they be upset that he took their daughter away?

But they’re just afraid of something they can’t understand
Oooh well little darlin’ watch me change their minds
Yeah for you I’ll try I’ll try I’ll try I’ll try
I’ll pick up these broken pieces ’til I’m bleeding
If that will make you mine

He was determined to keep her no matter what. But would she want to stay with him? Go through all the stress with him? Did she know that he would do anything for her?

Cause there’ll be no sunlight
If I lose you, baby
There’ll be no clear skies
If I lose you, baby
Just like the clouds
My eyes will do the same if you walk away
Everyday it will rain, rain, rain...

There was one thing that was for certain in both their minds: that the other had touched them so deep that they would never be the same without them. What would become of one if the other left?
