We Could Leave This Town and Run Forever

Today I had the afternoon free so I went back to Tom’s house because Kylee and I were going to get some writing done.

“Okay, I’m here!” I smiled, coming inside.

“I’m up here!” Ky shouted back.

I headed upstairs and found her in Tom’s music room, sitting in a comfy chair, strumming her guitar.

“I miss Ryan,” She pouted.

“I’m sorry,” I cooed, giving her a tight hug. “I really am.”

“It’s alright, I just miss him being here. At least it won’t be too long,” Ky went on.

“Yeah,” I grinned. “So did you get any writing done?”

“Um, yeah I got some lyrics but no music yet. I kinda wrote it about Ryan and I getting engaged and stuff but I’m not done…” She trailed off, handing me her notebook.

I scanned over what she already had and said, “Wow! Ky this is great!”

“I need some more though, got any ideas?” Ky questioned.

I scribbled down some stuff and gave it back to her and she wrote the last line before I sat at the piano and she grabbed her guitar and started coming up with a tune and then adding the words in.

“We are amazing,” Kylee laughed once we finished.

“That song is great, I can’t belive how good we are,” I laughed along with her. “I think we deserve ice cream.”

“Totally,” she agreed as we tromped downstairs and grabbed a carton of cookie dough ice cream.

“I can’t belive that it’s almost halloween, then I’ll be thanksgiving, then Christmas!” I squealed.

“That is the order it normally goes in,” Ky snickered.

I rolled my eyes before saying, “I’m excited for halloween.”

“We gonna dress up?” She asked.

“Duh! The guys are dressing up too,” I told her.

“That’s scary,” Kylee laughed. “I don’t want to know what they’re going to be.”

“Me either,” I snickered, sticking my spoon back in. “Ky.”

“Yeah?” She asked.

“I’m glad we’re writing together again,” I smiled.

“Me too Kirst,” Kylee beamed.

I love doing the TV show but I feel like this is my calling, writing and singing is what I love and doing it with my bestie is ten times better!
