Celebrate?

"Dude, this place smells like booze and pot," Autumn complained as we walked into the bar. So I'm too young to drink, so what? I can't have fun anyway? Too bad!

"Dude, I don't care! It's open mic night and I want to show off!" I said walking up to the bouncer.

"ID?" he asked. I showed him my drivers license. "Sorry chick. Too young," he said and looked over at Pete.

"She's with us!" he said and pulled me along with the group into the bar. Some chick with a horrible voice was on the stage singing a screwed up version of 'This Kiss' by Shania Twain. Andy looked right at her and scrunched his face up then plugged his ears. So did the rest of us.

She finally walked stumbled off the stage. Everyone started cheering. Hopefully for the fact that she walked off the stage. I walked right up to the stage and asked the Mic dude what songs he had.

"Got any Fall Out Boy?" I asked. He nodded and walked off. I jumped on the stage and walked up to the Mic.

The song started. All eyes were on me. But I wouldn't know that, the lighting was so bad on stage the only thing I could see was the Mic in front of me.

"Oh oh oh oh
Oh oh oh oh

A penny for your thoughts but a dollar for your insides
Or a fortune for your disaster
I'm just a painter and I'm drawing a blank

We only want to sing you to sleep
In your bedroom speakers, whoa
We need umbrellas on the inside
Get me just right

They say quitters never win
But we walk the plank on a sinking ship
There's a world outside of my front door
That gets off on being down

Oh oh oh oh

I could learn to pity fools as I'm the worst of all
And I can't stop feeling sorry for myself
Whoa

We only want to sing you to sleep
In your bedroom speakers, whoa
We need umbrellas on the inside
Get us right

They say quitters never win
But we walk the plank on a sinking ship
There's a world outside of my front door
That gets off on being down
They say quitters never win
But we walk the plank on a sinking ship
There's a world outside of my front door
That gets off on being down

We only want to sing you to sleep
(In your bedroom speakers, whoa whoa)
We only want to sing you to sleep

They say quitters never win
But we walk the plank on a sinking ship
There's a world outside of my front door
That gets off on being down
They say quitters never win
But we walk the plank, and we walk the plank
There's a world outside of my front door
That gets off on being down

Broken down on memory lane
Alone together, we're alone (Whoa)
We're broken down on memory lane
Alone together, we're alone

Oh oh oh oh
"

Now, if I'm not mistaken, Pete's jaw was on the floor, Andy's hands were so far in the air I thought they were flying, and my cheer team was jumping up and down. I walked off the stage and over to the table of screaming lunatics.

"Dude, I think you're better than Patrick!" Andy yelled. I gave him a weird look.

"Okay, no one is better and Patrick Martin Stump at singing!" I stated.

"It's only true," Autumn interjected. Pete was still staring at me weirdly. Sonny noticed too and elbowed Pete.

"Dude. That was the best performance of that song that I have ever seen!" he said still dazed. I blushed again. Okay, it's got to be him. I never, ever blush. Seriously.

"Is that pink I see in your cheeks?" Autumn asked astonished.

"My lord, I think it is!" Matt smiled jokingly. I stayed silent, cause Pete was blushing too......for reasons unknown.

"Thanks," I managed to mumble.

"Aw. Paigey!'s being shy!" Dev teased. More blushing. I thought my face was going to boil and explode from all the blushing.

"You should go back up there!" Sonny suggested.

"No, thanks. I'm good here," I said.

"No, no. I think we all want you to go back up there and sing! Right Petey?" Andy replied. He blushed again. Dude, blush-fest much?

"Okay then. It's official. Paige and Pete have a crush on each other!" Autumn said. I punched her arm. Real hard too.

"Ouch!" she whined. I got up and walked back onto the stage. The guy started playing a The Academy Is.....song. So I went along with it.

"I took a step back as the room was filling up
And I was packed against these people who were tossing up a strong vibe
Now the door's locked
And the shower's on.
And I realize I don't recognize anyone,
But I don't mind
Well the neighbors have complained damn near every night.
The neighbors have complained damn near every night.

You should-a shown up
Should-a shown up by now
You should-a shown up by now
With a knock at the door,
The knock at the door as it goes
Whoa...

Well now everybody's losing control!
Intoxicated circulation...
Just try and sit back, get my palette wet,
Getting mentally prepared for the consequences
And you know why...
Because that knock at the door
Calls the crowd to quiet.
The neighbors have complained damn near every night.

You should-a shown up
Should-a shown up by now
You should-a shown up by now
Give it a rest, give it a rest, give it a rest
You should-a shown up
Should-a shown up by now
You should-a shown up by now
With a knock at the door
The knock at the door as it goes
Whoa... whoa... whoa... whoa...

There's no one left lying on the second story floorboards
And I'm sure they heard next door
But the bottles are hollow now
And there's room at the bottom
And I would take it all back
If I could, but I won't!

Sit back, get my palette wet,
Getting mentally prepared for the consequences
And you know why...
Because the neighbors have complained damn near every night.

Once again, all eyes on me. But I liked the feeling. Why? 'Cause that's how a lead singer is supposed to react. I walked off the stage for the second time tonight and back over to the table.

"Okay, it's official. Falling In Flames is definitely being signed!" Andy said.

"Hey, I make the decisions here!" Pete defended.

"C'mon! You know you want to!" Autumn said.

"Ugh. You're right. I'll have paperwork in the morning," Pete added.
