Xenos woke to find himself aching all over. He was wearing boxers and the sheets were covering him.
Mr. Redwoods was watching him from the corner.
"Did she bite you?"
Xenos nodded after several moments of hesitation.
"I should've known they would have corrupted Sammi...."
"Sammi's....dead?" he croaked.
"Oh no she's not dead. The Devil part of her is now dead."
"You staked her."
"Yes, to save her."
"Where is she?"
"Making waffles. I'm afraid she won't speak. Maybe now that your awake she'll speak."
"Yeah....Maybe...Hopefully...I need to speak with her."
Xenos masked the pain the bite was causing him.

It felt like Hell...
"How did they corrupt her?" Xenos asked.
"Probably through food." the aged man replied.
He thought about the food she ate.
