A turn in the proceedings
It was just after 1 meaning I had anywhere between 6 and 8 hours before we went for drinks. I could safely watch Danny in the lab with out being spotted, the wonders of glass. I was hanging in Dad's office because he was out in the field chasing down a lead and wouldn't be back for hours. From my seat behind his desk I could see Danny working away with Sheldon and Adam. Danny wasn't going anywhere fast it would take them the rest of the day to find who brought the compounds.
“Tanner Taylor” A man walked into Dad's office
“Yes”
“Your under arrest for the murder of Jennifer Fry” the man threw hand cuffs on me
“What do you think your doing?” Danny ran over with Sheldon and Adam
“Arresting Detective Taylor for murder”
“Tanner don't say anything I'm calling Mac” Danny pulled out his phone
I wasn't going far considering the precinct was down stairs. The man took me into one of the interview rooms. I just sat and looked at him. I had no intention of giving this guy any information nor of giving him an easy time.
“Miss Taylor”
“Detective”
“Detective Taylor if you answer my questions we shouldn't have a problem”
“Only if you answer one of mine first”

“So my team and I know who to put in a complaint against”

“My team isn't going to move from out side this door until you let me go”

“Where were you three nights ago between 9 and 11”
“Well let's see at 9 in the lab with Detective Don Flack we parted ways at 10 when I left with my father to get dinner he dropped me home a little after 11 for the rest of the night I was in the company of Stella Bonasera who is helping me plan Dad's surprise party”
“Well according to your gun you were in Jennifer Fry's apartment”
“Maybe if you done your job right you would know that I haven't got a gun at the moment because a week ago I got mugged on my way home and the guy got away with my weapon and I have to under go a physic eval tomorrow so I can get a new weapon”
“Interviews over Tanner my office now” Dad burst in the door
I got up smirked and walked off. The moment I entered Dad's office he was storming in after me.
“What the hell was all that about?” He yelled slamming the door
“They think I killed some woman the night I was at the dinner with you because she was killed with my gun” I said
“So in other words your innocent” Dad said calming down
“Well I have 3 people who can vouch for me during the window of time when she was killed not to mention I was hardly alone for 5 minutes” I said
“So they have nothing on you”

“What about your weapon?” Dad asked
“Dad I was mugged a week ago they took my weapon” I said
“Mugged why didn't you tell me” Dad yelled
“Because I knew how you would react I went straight to Don after I was attacked he took my statement and put an APB out on my weapon”
“I'll see if I can get the gun brought up to the lab and analysed further”
“Fine”
“Good your free to go Don's looking for you” Dad said

“I need you help I'm getting Detective Moore to bring up Tanner's gun I need you to process it like it was any other case you understand” I said

“Notify me the moment you find something” I dismissed her “Oh and Lindsay if Moore asks you have no personal connection with her”

“Oh Donny boy” I walked over to his desk
“What was all that about before?” Don motioned towards Moore
“Well if you really want to know I'm a murderer” I remained serious Don's blue eyes grew big “Oh seriously you don't believe me do you?”
“Well your to much like Mac” Don point his finger at me
“They think I killed some woman Jennifer Fry oh and you can end that APB my gun was the murder weapon” I said
“When did this happen?” Don asked
“Three night's ago between 9 and 11 pm” I said
“You were with me then your father you couldn't have done it” Don said
“Thank you captain obvious” I rolled my eyes
“What about the gun?” Don said “The guys prints have to be on it”
“Dad's getting someone in the lab to process it” I said
“Okay well Danny and I are leaving for drinks at like 9 if nothing comes up” Don said
“Hay Don can I ask you something but you can't tell Danny” I said

“Does Danny have a girlfriend?”
“Oh you're so far behind” Don grinned “Allow me to fill you in Danny and Lindsay have been going out for the last 3 months and Stella and Mac are a sure thing”
“Wow wait Dad and Stella” I blinked
“Oh come one they leave together every night and show together every morning” Don said
“Your to good at your job” I walked off shaking my head
I managed to make the morgue before letting my tears slide. Sid was signing off on the body from before and sliding it into the freezer. I just stood in the door way and cried. Sid came right over to me he put his arms around me and guided me into his office. He got me to sit in his chair before pulling another chair over for him to sit in.
“What's wrong princess?” Sid asked
“I'm just being silly” I wiped at my eyes
“Something made you upset and I want to know what no matter how small” Sid rubbed my back
“I was talking with Don and he told me that the guy I love has a girlfriend” I said
“I thought this would have to do with you getting arrested” Sid said
“So you know about that” I said
“I was ready to burst into the door and fight them off” Sid swung his arms I giggled
“You know how to make a girl feel better” I smiled

“Oh well if it's any conciliation I don't think his right for you”

“Well Don or maybe Adam actually no not Adam, Sheldon no now I think about Don defiantly” Sid nodded
“Right if you say so” I nodded “Actually I feel a lot better now thanks Sid I think I'm going to see Dad then go talk with Don”
I hugged Sid and walked back to the lab. Danny was sitting alone in the break room reading over files. I walked in and sat down next to him.
“So Danny how goes it” I said
“Well Sheldon's running the last store and I'm going over our list of possibles” Danny said
“How many are we talking about?” I asked
“2 father and son” Danny said “But”
“Uh oh”
“They run a gardening business” Danny said
“So we're looking at a couple hundred people” I sighed
“No lucky for us there only a new business 50 people” Danny said “We'll canvas tomorrow”

I placed my hands on each side of Danny's face and pulled him into a quick kiss. I moved away he followed me for a moment before moving back. I stood up and left the room, Danny watched me leave, I threw one glance back at him before entering the elevator. The doors were just about closed when Danny stuck his hand in the way. He entered the elevator and stood next to me.
“What was that for?” Danny said
“I like you Danny but I know your with Lindsay but I just thought you should know” I said
“Shall we agree to forget” Danny held out his hand

I smiled and walked off the elevator when it stopped at my floor. I bounced over to Don's desk grinning the whole time. Don didn't see me, actually I don't think he was seeing but the inside of his eyelids, he was asleep feet up on the desk. He obviously hadn't been asleep for long his mouth was still closed. I leaned over him and placed a kiss on his lips. To my surprise he kissed back, he was even smiling into the kiss.
“I was wondering how long I would have to wait” Don moved away and opened his eyes
“I guess I was kind of blind to what's been there all along”
“I love you” Don ran a finger down my face
“I love you too Don” I leaned in for another kiss
“You two my office now” Dad roared
I ducked my head and scurried for his office while Don done the same behind me. When Dad closed the door I jumped a little. I knew he was going to lecture us and I had a fair idea how it would end.
“Dad before you start may I point out that you and Stella make such a lovely couple” I smirked
“Your my daughter I don't want to see you hurt” He yelled
“Dad you trust Don with your life do you not, so you know he won't hurt me and I'm sure if you had to choose a boyfriend for me you would choose him” I yelled
“That's not the point Tanner” Dad yelled
“Then what is it?” I yelled back by this stage everyone in the lab had stopped to listen
“Okay both of you cut it out” Don yelled “Mac I respect you but I love your daughter and I would never dream of hurting her”

“Because Tanner the one time I let you leave my side you get hurt” Dad said
“Dad it's going to happen again your not going to be able to stay by my side every second of the day one day you'll be gone and I'm going to have to look after myself I'm sure you would prefer it if Don was by my side” I took Don's hand in mine
